Back in 1985 my friend and I used to look out 5th floor Hardwick and watch drug deals across Diamond St. They didn't used to have all the lights around campus. I bet it's safer than it was back when I was there.
temple security sucks but they tryna change the system and make it better. Some security loooks miserable fall asleep (seriously, i seen one guy asleep in one of those outside box things) and are very rude and some are nice and always smiling. Theres always a good and bad side.
temple isn't that bad of a area in philly,there are worst parts in north philly than where temple is located,but west philly is the absolute worst of philly
so how do you solve your so-called problem??? before you criticize temple security, how about offer a solution. no college is immune from one or two kids going crazy. all i know is that temple does a hell of a lot more to secure the school than most. other schools in philly such as drexel and penn don't take near the security measures as temple, and they are in just as bad of a neighborhood.
@sillyskater540 Drexel and penn are by no means as bad as temple. north philly is worse than center city and university city, which are much more upscale and have attractions other than education. Temple dominates it's area, and only one block off campus it gets pretty rough. Not disagreeing with your thoughts on Temple Police, in general I think they do a decent job and they have a lot to deal with. But I wouldn't necessarily compare Temple Police or Temple to other campuses in the area.
I don't know if there is anyway to guarantee nothing like the Virginia Tech tragedy will happen at Temple, but I know that Temple has gone to great efforts to keep the campus safe.

A girl got attacked in Anderson a little while ago remember?..besides those crappy security gaurds who check ID's dont care about security They dont even check ID's half the time..Temple cops cant be everywhere at once and grant it they do a good job but as i said, they cant be everywhere on campus so they rely on these gaurds who dont do a very good job
