@LPJAY08 no kidding. i was asking more more about mic placement, mixing techniques, etc. not everyone can afford to pay an engineer to do it for them.

@ckpitt55 i usually use the shure sm57 for guitars, it works very well. for fattening up the sound, you record the same riff twice and put one on the left channel, and the other on the right. that way you've got a stereo effect. if you can't record in a studio but in your room or something, you should consider recording the guitar directly into the pc via usb and use pc amps such as guitar rig, that always works well, you can download a demo of that for free.

Hi there Thiago I was just wondering how do you guys write your music do you bring stuff from home and just try to develop it or do you all meet up at rehearsal and invent stuff on the spot?

@DreamJp6 Both really. We try to write most of it in a rehearsal studio as a band, but on many occasions I've brought ideas from home. Sometimes it'll just be a riff, others a whole section I've had worked on and previously recorded on my computer. We'll then jam on it, add, change and just build it up into a song from there.
