@masterlanzie Elena has been through alot and I think the thought of losing any of her family, friends or the Salvatore brothers really is pushing her to breaking point and therefore forcing her to make these choices and be alot like Katherine. I will admit Katherine is very cruel but she is also very smart and confident and I think the reason Elena is more like her is because she is seeing a women more powerful than her and she wants to be more like her in a strong minded way and not cruel.
