Cramer is actually right, no matter how often I think he's annoying. If you listen to Faber he explains something CRITICAL, how this was an artifical market on top of the CDO market for mortgages. Synthetic CDOs are pure gambling, similar to naked stock options. CDOs can become worthless when only a small part of the portfolio defaults. The only way the synthetic CDO EXSITS at all is that one party takes a short position using a CDS (swap) which they believe will increase. All legal!
