Regarding the "Middle Duet": the more I watch Zakharova's athleticism, sharpness and extension, the more I like Ryu's softness, femininty, simplicity, depth and musicality.

@milk9z she started off doing gymnastics. that's partly why she is so much more flexible than other ballerinas, (minus a few). But no, you can not compare gymnasts to Zakharova nowadays. :))

first zakharova isnt and wasnt a gymnast she has those legs cause she has natural elasticity which is a gift of god because you can have amazing extensions but ballet is not just extensions ballet is the passion, is a feeling dancing ballet is more than that but fortunetely zakharova has a passion not as polinas now that is passion but she dances beautifully everything.

@ballet4evernever she was never a gymnast: wrong. she didn't ever do it professionally, but she started out in gymnastics before winning a scholarship to the vaganova academy, went to the mariinsky and then the bolshoi. her natural elasticity was brought out from her gymnastics as a young girl. but yes you are right on some parts: she does dance everything beautifully. But more modern ballets suit her better imo because of her high extensions. But I love her classics too. long live Zakharova!!!

It's gorgeous but FAR too short. Can I get the whole duet somewhere with Zakharova because her dancing is exquisite - NOT gymnastic even though she has such fantastic extensions.

wow! her body is absolutely amazing. the only gymnast ever who could ever pull something as harda as a ballet off so convincingly. incredible physicality and technique

She's a Prima Ballerina, not a gymnast. And she's got a better body than any gymnast I've ever seen!!

She's not "pulling ballet off" she's just dancing, because that's what she does best.

No gymnast can move the way she does. Plus, gymnasts are too short!

well, depends on what kind of gymnasts. Rhythmic gymnasts are tall and leggy (e..g, Serebrianskaya, Tchachina). Their speed and extensions are scary.

@lepetitpoulet she started off in gymnastics, but she is a principle dancer with the Bolshoi ballet: she gave gymnastics up a loooooong time ago. Shes a dancer, not a gymnast pretending to be one. :)

The music is by Yury/Yuri Khanon. I haven't found any reference to the title of the piece in all the reviews though.

beautiful body, amazing plasticity, exlellent technique, etc... and boring. The same arms in all the ballets she dances, the lack of authentic feelings, poor perception of style. I wish she coud be a bit more sophisticated.
