I am amazed regarding how some people say its the owners fault with chihuahuas, they are an evolutionary mistake in terms of being pets or in fact animals (how a barking rat attaking everything bigger than him will survive in the wild more than an hour im not sure). Do the words, "crate train" mean anything to these people? Which is not, by the way, a form of punishment. It is just a way to prevent such damage when you are away. Most dogs that are put into a crate when their owners are away, love it. They think of it as their den and feel protected. A lot of dog psychologists would say this behavior is FROM a sense of insecurity and anger because they have been left alone. Dogs don't DO 'alone' well.
