  • sooo..these are basically individual tree braids. with just a "new" name.

  • @gilchristb1

Not quite. We refined the technique over the years. Besides tree braids are based on corn rows.

  • Looks like mirco braids to me.

  • @virgingirl26

Not quite right...micro braids have free flowing hair only at the end of the braid. Our camouflage open braids start with free flowing hair close to the scalp. This is a good method for clients with longer hair

  • @MagicStyleAtelier Ok but can u do it on black woman hair also. I seen someone hair done like that and i thought it was another way u do mirco braids.

  • @virgingirl26

Sure, it can be done on every type of hair. visit our website, we have hundreds of customer photos. If you sent me a message I can send you a direct link to our photo album online.

  • okay im confuse in this human hair???? .

  • @dfucku1

No, as the title says it is thermofiber hair. It looks and feels like human hair and can be heat styled. Pretty amazing stuff.

  • @MagicStyleAtelier where do you get this hair wouldn't that be what us americans call miro briads?

  • @dfucku1

It is not exactly like mircorbraids. We camouflage the braids so that you have free flowing hair starting close to the scalp, no matter how long your own hair is. The hair we use is our own brand called Magic Style Heat. We sell it in our online shop. But you get similar hair at ebonyline. Just look for miss willow/elements on that site

  • ISN'T THAT JUST A BIG ASS MICRO BRAID???

  • ISN'T THAT JUST A BIG ASS MICRO BRAID???

  • ISN'T THAT JUST A BIG ASS MICRO BRAID???

  • echt gutes video bin ne süße und ganz lieb wer will mit mia schnacken

  • how long was this process? very nice! ;-)

  • @Chocolatelover123

Thank you :) It takes between 8 and 12 hours depending on the length of the client's hair and the size of the braids. As we are located in Germany a lot of our clients have quit long hair but want a different texture, more volumen and/or length without damaging their hair. That is why the pick the open braids technique.

  • das is ja günstig, ich bin ja nicht sehr weit von euch weg - freu mich schon auf meine open braids von euch!! Meld mich per e-mail.. liebe grüsse

  • Super! Ich freue mich auf Deine Email :)

  • how much do ya'll charge for those braids it's really cute

  • 350 Euro, hair include (thermofiber)

  • Do you sell an instructional video step by step or offer online classes

  • We have online classes, but they are currently only in German (google Magic Style Club). I hope I find time to translate them at some point. We give courses in our salon and could do that in English.

  • macht ihr auch dreads ?

  • Hallo SeliLovesChocolat,

Ja klar, wir machen auch Dreads! Wir haben einige Videos zu Dreads hier auf YouTube und auf unserer Homepage findest Du viele Kundenfotos und Informationen zu unseren Dreadlocks.

  • oah

    das lied is toll.

    wie heißt das?

    <3

    das video is auch toll.

    <3

  • Was her hair straight to begin with?

  • oh yes ... it was lol

  • hi there love what you have done to her hair but just whanted to know if you braided all her hair from top to bottom and are they micro braidsor bigger coz her hair looks quite full. Would it be okay to use stright synthetic hair and get the same look as your vidio

  • Hi there,

We braided below her own hair to protect it but left out a strand of braiding hair at the base to camouflage the braids. The braids are not super small micros because her hair is very fine and we did not want it to break. The hair in the vid is synthetic hair Miss Willow/Elements French Bulk which you can buy online at Ebonyline (look under heatable hair).

  • C'esst beeau

  • Merci! :)

  • it looks like an all day thing, plus does it hurt?

  • Yes, depending on how long the client's hair is and how small we make the braids it can take between 6 - 10 hours.

But we can promise you that the only thing that will hurt will be your butt ;). And to relieve that we even have a massage chair in our shop...

  • Her/your hair looks really beautiful, it looks like it was very well done, but I'm wondering, why not just curl it? It seems like it would save a lot of trouble. (Or maybe it's just how it looks to me, I just see curly hair, is it more than that and I just don't see?)

  • Well, she has curly, much longer and fuller hair now. Her own hair is straight and shoulder long. Plus curling hair (=perm) is damaging. Braiding in hair is not.

  • Okay, thanks. :)

  • what type of hair can one use for this hairstyle?

  • Human hair or the thermofiber hair. Most of our customers prefer the thermofiberhair from Elements.

  • Tell me how many packs of hair do it normaly take for 1 client?

  • It depends on how much volume the client desires, headsize, the clients hair etc. On average 2 to 3 packages.

  • wow.. how long does it last for..? it looks soo adorable lol

  • The style lasts at least 3-4 months. You can wash and style the hair as you desire. A few of our customers even keep it for 6 months. But that is not recommended for everyone.

  • Wow, beautiful! How long did it take to braid her hair?

  • Glad you like it so much :) It took about 8 hours.

  • thank u so much lol im happpy now

  • You are welcome :)

  • i will i hope u check my videos out no 1 has really subscribed lol ii no the 2 people that did lol dont tell any 1 lol

  • I just checked out some of your vids :). Looks like you are into nail art :). Very pretty!

  • o i saw ur video i like it i dont like mine that full because it doesnt look right down but urs fits u

  • Yeah, I am rather tall, I think that is why it is ok for me to have it that full and that long. I guess I just like lots of hair ;).

Nice talking to you, I am off to catch some ZZZZZZZZZs. I hope you subscribe to the MagicStyleAtelier channel :).

  • ok im going 2 check the video out

  • :) Have fun!

  • i can just not those because it takes so long and i hate sitten there that long how much do you charge or how much was it 2 get your hair done and how much was the hair o i seen the small braides in the front and a track (weave) in the back it was really pretty

  • Yes, this style is a lot of work and therefore takes long and is expensive. But I like that you can wear it in so many ways. I braid my own hair. Have a look at the MagicStyleAtelier profile and look for video "Heike's Open Braids". It shows me and my hair. You are right, the braids/weave combination is nice too, but I love this style better. We take around 350 Euros for very fine braids (any length) hair included.

  • o ok lol i wish i wouldve new that and i kant get those braids anymore even tho they make your hair grow my hair is long and they braided it then tied it at the end and it was tied b4 my hair ended it was so hard 2 get out but i had those grade maybe 4 or 5 times i had the kurly kind one time then straight all the rest and it cost like 300 dollars

  • We don't tie it but braid down below your own and hair and then set a glue point on the braid. It is totally invisible. Your hair is better protected that way. And because we camouflage the braids, it does not matter how far you braid down. Why can't you get braids any more? I could not live without mine...

  • i didnt wash it i was to scared because when i did all the products that i used in my hair would show in the braids

  • Oh, all you have to do is use clear shampoos etc. Braid shampoos are fine. Those products don't leave a residue in your braids. But if the human hair was the cheap kind I mentioned, it would have tangled. I wash my hair once a week. I have the same style as the girl in the video.

  • 3-4 months

  • Good for you! How often did you wash the hair per week? Sounds like the hair was not so bad after all and you got a good deal.

  • I had my hair like this they kall it zillions i was sitten there 4 8 hours i got it done by the africans and i had human hair for like 20 dollars i hope no one is affended but thats what shops are called

  • Human hair for $20? That is usually cheap asian hair without cuticles and will tangle like crazy after you wash it a few times. Good human hair costs considerably more. And no worries, we are not offended :). How long did your style last?

  • Thanx a bunch!!!

  • you are very welcome :)

  • WOW! that's beautiful, my twin sister and i do braids also and we would love to know where we can get the thermofiber hair from...

  • Hi lpbeauty,

You can buy it online at Ebonyline. Just search for Miss Willow/Elements on their website

  • is that natural hair?or synthetic

  • It is a new generation of snythetic hair called thermofiber. It combines the advantages of human and synthetic hair. It really looks and feels like human hair and can even be heat styled (curling iron and such).

  • this looks like tree braids.

  • It's very similar, but it is not the cornrows tree braids technique.

  • Wow...I have never seen this done on a caucasian individual before. This really looks great.

  • Hi sueshephil, I am glad you like our work :). We are located in Germany so most of our customers are caucasian.

  • i never knew that you all did this over there. I am black and i live in the use. they dont have shops out here like that! you all do a really great job! =]

  • Thank you, Chocolatelover123! There are African braiding salons in most bigger cities. Surely not nearly as many as in the US though :). Oh, I and also love chocolate! :)

  • Wow great job!

  • Thank you! You are very kind :)

  • hi,

how do you do when the customer has long hair like her? do you braid all the way down? but that would not be open braids..or?

  • Yes, we braid down the clients own hair completely to protect it, but we use a special technique to camouflage the braids, thus you see open hair starting from the root of the braid.

  • wie heißt der song in dem video pls schnell antworten

Whats the name of this song in this video pls tell me it very fast

  • Ich glaube er heisst "Breathe"

  • 0:59 she looks like corrie from paris hilton my new bff

  • That is funny :)

  • braids are a long process unless you are doing french braids i don't know any one who could do a full head of tiny indivduals braids in an hour or two no one hell even three or four or five dammit.

  • Babyrose is right! It also depends on the length of your customer's hair. We have lots of women with longer hair or very long hair who just want a total change of style. We often braid up to 12 hours when the braids are really tiny and the client's hair is very long.

  • Hi,i'm from brasil, and i would like to know if is it possible to find this beautiful hair here in brasil?

Congratulations for this very nice job!!!!

  • Hi caitoguilherme,

I don't know any stores in Brasil, but the store in the US we order the hair from delivers world wide as far as I know. Just sent me an email and I will give you details.

Thanks for your nice comment! :) Please rate the video if you have not done so yet.

  • they braid slow as FUCC!!!

  • mann..i was thinkn the same thing...i was like cant these broads put some pep in they step..man..did you notice that it was dark out side when they finished?..hahahah..mann!!

  • Very wonderful! To me it looks very much like what we call Tree Braids here in the states.

  • I think it is very similar. There are tree braids done with cornrows, this is however not what wer are doing.

  • Tree braids can also be done individually. Both processes are gorgeous! One of these days I will sit down and do some!

  • Go for it! :)

  • Hi zajanatural and MagicStyleAtelier!

I just posted my treebraids- both the individual, as well as the cornrow treebraids. Which state in the USA do you live? Merry Xmas to you all! December 2008.

  • what kind of hair is that?

  • It's so called thermofiber hair. A new type of synthetic hair that really looks like human hair and can even be heat styled.

  • i love how her hair looks, i want my hair like that but my problem is that i have shoulder length hair and i just want my hair braided about 3 inches and then leave the rest loose, but i keep seeing my real hair in between the curls . what can i do so that my real hair doesnt show in between the braids??

  • Well, most of our clients have longer or even very long hair. If you look closer at the video, you will see that Tanjas hair goes well below her shoulders as well. We use a spcial technique. You own hair is completely braided down, for protection and for better looks, but the braids are being camouflages by leaving braiding hair out of the braid early on. It's considerably more work that regular micros but it sure is worth the effort.

  • that "special technique" are simple tree braids :)

  • Please come to Ottawa, Canada! we have nobody here! haha.

    What's this method called?

  • We call it Open Braids with camouflage technique. I don't think most braiders don't know it. We had to come up with something like that because most of our European customers have longer hair than Africans usually have and they did not want the "open hair" to start only after their own hair ends. Also Europeans don't want their scalp to show too much. There is just a different demand here. I hope you visit Germany and us some day :), I have been to Canada - its your turn now ;)

  • I would love to come haha.

    Thanks for the reply :)

  • Sure, I like interaction. That's why I posted the videos, right! :)

  • Oh my, you got it just right. You got what every braider I have visited here in Denmark don´t - understanding of a white girls needs ;). I hope to visit you some day. You seeme so nice, and the videoes ar allways filled with smiles and laughter.

  • Thanks! You are very nice yourself :). Yes, I totally understand your problem. "White" girls getting their hair braided African style is still relatively new...even though we do it for almost 30 years now here in Germany. That's how we learned to adapt the techniques.

  • Hi there. Thank you so much for all this wonderfull information you are giving out. The girl and the hair in the video are stunning.

I hope you will answer this question to; how many packs of hair did you use for her hair?

  • About 3 and 1/2 packs of Miss Willow/Elements.

It's a pleasure to answer your questions. I hope you visit our webpage. It is mostly in German (there is a English guide though), but we have literally hundreds of hair styles on there!

  • wow it turned out so nice

  • Thank you, cecegal! :)

  • beautiful work. I loved it.

  • Thank you very much for your nice comment, itpaystobeme. Would apprechiate it if you would rate the video :)

  • how much would that cost plz reply.

  • Depends on how small you want the braids, between Euro 300 and 350.

  • Between 300 and 350 Euros, depending on how small you want the braid. The hair (thermofiber) is included in the price.

  • i don't get it, where did the unbraided hair come from when it looks like u were braiding the entire hair without loose ends???

    confused???

  • Thatäs why the technique is called Open Braids. Your own hair gets completely braided down, but you leave portions of the curly hair we use out so that the braids get camouflaged. That way you can achieve any look you like and with any color you like while your own hair is protected and invisible.

  • i braid my own hair and i was wondering what glue do u use to seal the ends of the hair.. i always burn it but so much hair falls off after that...

  • We use nail glue, the type that does not get hot or hard - take care to braid beyond your own hair and only then use a drop of glue. You should never try to seal braids made of human hair or the new thermofiber hair we are using in the video.

  • We use nail glue too. Some people don't want their synthetic single braids dipped into hot water. Others want short synthetic braids- in this case nail glue is perfect. Thank you so much for providing a great video. I just also wanted to add that for those of you that cannot go to Germany to get your hair done, we are a great hair braiding service right here in New Jersey, we do hair for all 50 states, appointments are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Best regards, Kaale.

  • Hi Kaale,

You are welcome! I just checked out your website. Do you guys offer home service as well? I have friends in PA looking for a good braider.

  • Hi- yes we do! don't see my response from an hour ago, so I decided to add this just in case :)

    Best regards,

    Kaale

  • MagicStyleAtelier, thank you- we do go to PA too!

  • Sounds great! I will let my friend know! She has the same hair style as in the video (got it done in our salon) and she has the hair available. Unfortunately she is not travelling to Germany often enough to get it done by us.

  • I am sure she will be thrilled...and thanks again! Thank you for having such a wonderful video and hair braiding service too! When you come to the US you can visit chez moi!

  • Thanks! I sure will stop by! Same applies to you guys! A bientot! :)

  • i am so mad because i went to the beauty store and bought some synthetic braiding hair called elements. it says 100% kanekalon toyokalon. and it is the deep twist. it looks exactly like the hair you use but when i tried seperating it strand by strand it would not part easily it just got all tangly and frizzy looking. so i couldnt use it. i dont know if it is the same hair you all use. i pland on taking it back for exchange tomorrow. i am so freakin upset!

  • What color is the package? What we use is Miss Willow French Bulk but I understand it was bought by Elements. Try treating it with body lotion (Nivea) before parting it. It can be tricky sometimes with those tight curls.

  • Can someone please tell me where i can find that type of hair! could i buy it any beauty store? i am desperate to know. I am going to start braiding my hair today!

  • You can order online from ebonyline. Looks for Miss Willow/Elements. That's exactly the hair we use.

  • how many inches is the hair you bought in this video? ? 28 inches?

  • It's 20 inches folded, streched out it is 40 inches. But we shortened it, because Tanja wanted a shorter, layered look.

  • woooow :-D

  • Thaaaaanks! :)

  • i was wonderin how long did it take 2 do all of that and it looks wonderful :o

  • Hi Chilliwill5,

Thanks for the compliment! It takes about 8 hours. Depends on how long the clients hair is and how fine the braids are supposed to be.

  • almost 1 day

    lol

  • 1/3 of a day (1 day = 24 hours) ;)

  • Wirklich unglaublich schöne Arbeit!

Eine ganz andre Frage - wie heißt das Lied zu dem Video?

  • Danke :). Ich glaube der Song heisst "Breathe"

  • where can i get the glue and what kind is it.

  • Hi Smiles1108,

Drop me a message. It seems I cannot post links here in the comments. I wanted to give you one for buying the glue.

  • What did you use to seal the braid after you braided them, how did you keep them from coming loose?

  • We braid the extension down beyond the length of the clients hair and then seal the braid with a drop of a special glue that does not get hot and stays soft and undetectable.

  • what kind of hair was that

  • It is a new type of synthetic hair that looks and feels like human hair. It can even be curled with a curling iron, or straightned, crimped...The general name for this type of hair is thermofiber.

  • in this vid are you using the flat iron to help seal the braid or was it to blend her hair with the hair added?

  • Hi tysspace,

The flat iron is used to straighten the braids. They tend to curl (because of the very curly braiding hair we used) and tangle with the hair. We find that the style last a lot longer if we do this.

  • I see videos for people with a good amount of hair, but what about people with short hair? I would like to know how to braid short hair.

  • We can braid in extensions with hair as short as 5 cm (about 2 inches) for straight hair, with kinky hair the hair can be even shorter. It is the same technique and actually less work, if you are a good braider because you don't have to braid down so far. The short the hair, the thinner you have to make the braids to avoid slippage. Anyhow, you wouldn't see much difference in a video of a short haired person.

  • love your work, you should sell dvd's I would buy it! How long should that last?

  • Hi purenheart,

Glad you are a fan of our work! We are planning on making CD. Some of our customers wear this style for 6 months, but in average it lasts 3 - 4 months.

It would be great if you would rate our videos and subscribe to our channel :). We will produce more videos for sure.

  • OOoooo those are cute!

  • :) Glad you like the style!

  • This is a classic example of how White people have nothing better to do with their time or money.

  • Hi Chickenfoot2001,

I don't understand what skin color has anything to do with getting your hair styled. We all want to look nice or feel like making a change once in a while - that is all that is to it.

  • Great job. This technique is better than those fusion extensions and bonding solutions that can damage the hair.

How does the extension hair stay secure? Is it tied at the end?

  • You are right, braided extensions done right are the only method that does not damage the hair at all. We braid the extension down beyond the length of the clients hair and then seal the braid with a drop of a nail glue that does not get hot and stays soft and undetectable. We camouflage the braids so that the braids are barely visbible even for clients with longer hair.

  • It came out good. U did a great job. what kind of braiding hair iz that.

  • Hi PprettyDaModel,

We used a new type of snythetic hair of the type thermofiber. It looks just like human hair and be curled, straighened etc. and styled like human hair.

  • wat a cool video. can you braid normal hair like that without adding extensions to create more movement and individual curl... i agree with grrromit great camera work.

  • Thanks vhomesick! I guess you could braid just your own hair, but you would need to have very thick hair or it might look sparse. Also the braids could only be secured with an elastic thread or not at all to avoid damaging your own hair. Maybe Cornrows would be better? Or very little extension hair just to make it stay better?

  • well.. thanks a lot! ill start to look for salons ... and to save some money! XD thank you so much!!

  • De nada! If you like you can email me, I can send you advise on how to find a good salon, what hair to pick etc. Just go to the channel info of MagicStyleAtelier for our email address. I am crossing my fingers for you :)

  • how much it cost to do the individual braids??... Im very interested to get those but im mexican, and from a very little city and we don't have those kinds of salon's its been difficult.. and I want to know how much it cost?... I mean just in case i find some person that do the same or, almost the same work as you... thanks and sorry about my english ^^

  • The prices vary a lot from country to country and from salon to salon. We calculate the price by hothe size of the braids + the type of hair you want. The choice of hair is very important. You can use human hair or synthetic hair. Human hair is the most expensive hair, the higher the quality of the human hair, the more expensive it is. Some salons provide the hair, others expect you to buy it yourself. I can only guess that you might have to pay about US $100 hair not included.

  • No, it's simimlar to micros, but not quite the same. The braids are being camouflaged, because Tanja has rather long hair.

  • Tkank you!

  • I really liked this, especially the details and close-ups! Great video.
