It's interesting how New Years Eve seems to be a reccuring thread in Waits' ouvre; A Sight For Sore Eyes in the late-70s, Big Time in 1988 and, of course, New Years Eve in 2011.

Did you know that they used to have a celebration somewhere in Upstate NY called "WaitStock?" It lasted over a weekend close to Yasgar's Farm--I'm guessing. Tom wasn't there personaIly, but it involved a variety of his music celebrated by many people in different ways. I could never get there but I live it in my mind every time I hear Tom's tunes. Keep your eyes open on the net in case they ever have another one.

I was born in 86 myself so i know what you mean by missing his earlier live shows, but im sure he'll tour again within the next 2 or 3 years and you can catch Waits then.

I was 2 when this came out. I started listening to Tom Waits when I was 19 I wish I heard of Tom Waits when I was 16. I can't stop listening it's amazing stuff.
