All you need to know: Grant served two state prison terms for various felonies including a conviction for drug dealing. Had it coming. The cop obviously thought he had the taser. That crowd was very hostile, so it is understandable how he could accidently make this mistake. If Grant was home taking care of his daughter instead of wilding, he'd still be around.

A person who is only a friend or a family member should be protected by us.
We should go out of our way to protect the innocent, and try to understand and have sympathy for all who are swept up into this issue by none of their own doing.
Protest is so that this will not keep happening in Oakland, as well as, any other city in the US. Police brutality is a problem. Its an ongoing problem that needs to stop. This isnt the 60's and there are too many unjustified deaths at the hands of police officers. These cops get out of hot water at the backing of their sgts and justice doesnt prevail. Unless its on video, for 3 diff angles, there isnt a conviction and that needs to end. The whole nation should be protesting this.

The process would have been that the suspect be DETAINED while an investigation took place. A trial would be set and then a conviction. The BART Investation just finished and turned over it's findings to the DA on Monday, and on Tuesday there is an arrest.
Has nothing to do with Obama's innaugaration, or any of the many 911 Conspiracy Theories you also likely believe in.
Yet in the cases of people of color, the system has not always worked. Most of what you've stated is a great dream, but you contradict yourself by stating this. Recently you showed apathy regarding the Oscar Grant shooting and the rioting that occured afterward.

After any use of deadly force by a cop, they always put the cop on administrative leave.
Internal Affairs looks into the shooting, and turns over the results over to the DA where after a review charges are filed and an arrest is ordered and made.
This is all going well accroding to the system we have put into place.
What things have been done that were not according to our rules that handle this type of situation?

Unless its on video, for 3 diff angles, there isnt a conviction and that needs to end. The whole nation should be protesting this.

Celebration? Process was fast? Ok well how would the process work if this was an officer that was killed. How would this work if this was 2 civilians shooting each other & it was caught on film? The process would have been that the suspect be DETAINED while an investigation took place. A trial would be set and then a conviction. With the ex-officer, he was out in the streets free to leave town..while there was a tape of him murdering Grant. Thats not fast. Protest is for a conviction.

Im glad hes in custody however the only reason in my opinion they were able to that was that he resigned from the dept and made himself a civilian and was no longer property of BART, if he had not done that I wonder if he'd be in jail right now.

The moment this cop sought the protection of the Fifth Amendment he was off-limits to BART.
This is the same rights as any of us have.
The BART investation was finished in Monday and the arrest was the very next day.
The system worked as we have designed it to.

don't call yourself or anyone else civilians. At the very least call yourself a citizen. Civilian makes it sounds like we are a population that has been invaded by a foreign army. That is what the government what's us to think of ourselves as. Civilians.

Citizen means you belong to a certain city or community or ruler. Civilian means your on your own, you have nothing to do with the laws you just live in the city.

I mean, Im a Citizen of this Country.
All Americans are.
The people that work in normal jobs as well as our troops in Iraq or the cop on the beat.
But Im also a Civilian, in that Im not a cop nor am I in the Army.
As such I enjoy some Rights and freedoms that guys in the Army do not have .

rebelfrak here, thank u zennie 4 keeping us up 2 date. i am new 2 youtube & am working on video responses that support my view: b angry but b wise. police r an unchecked 'organism' who intimidate, batter, abuse &/or kill illegal immigrants, homeless, prostitutes, street punks,etc. o. grant's murder was not racially motivated, that is my opinion. Im sure over the next few days that things like the State he was arresterd in will seem less and less important.
The important part now is to make sure nothing goes wrong with the case.
No one in the DA's office can slip up.
Also, I expect the trial to be moved from the Bay area to a different part of the State.
If this happens then I hope the press does not go nuts and destroy the chance of seating a jury.

Om not sure it's worth my time to post this to you, as I can tell with one look at your comment that you are not the type that lasts long around decent people.
But I will say this:
The System worked!
The BART Investation just finished and turned over it's findings to the DA on Monday, and on Tuesday there is an arrest.
Has nothing to do with Obama's innaugaration, or any of the many 911 Conspiracy Theories you also likely believe in.

I didn't trust the process...with good reason...but it worked, now it's time for the process to keep moving forward.

In America...
We keep our little American dream going by 3 things.
#1 - We have laws.
This country was set up with a system to make and enforce laws that rule us all.
#2 - We have elected leaders.
Leadership that set up our Laws in such a way as they expect them to work
#3 - The people have faith.
We as Americans must never alow the voices of doubt to get us to believe that our system will fail. Our system works , only if we have faith in it.
No faith and it will fail.

Yet in the cases of people of color, the system has not always worked. Most of what you've stated is a great dream, but you contradict yourself by stating this. Recently you showed apathy regarding the Oscar Grant shooting and the rioting that occured afterward.

I disagree with you on that IG2HI
Yes,I find the rioting to be pointless.
And I find the many BART meetings held in Zennie's videos to also be pointless.
But I do believe that the system worked just as we the people have designed it to work.
Just as I have been telling people it would work.
All cop shootings should be reviewed and if the DA thinks a shooting was wrong then he should file charges

If and when the former BART officer is tried and prosecuted for second-degree murder, I will hold you to that theory. Until that time, I will remain a skeptic.

Fine IG2HI,
but as far as I can see it's an open and shut case.
The DA has about all a guy needs to get a conviction.
Thus I expect that the cop's lawyer will attempt to cut a deal and make a plea to a lower charge.
Will the DA take a lower charge of Assult with a deadly weapon?
I dont know. That might depend on where this trial will be moved to and the make-up of the jury.
