Dunno if I completely agree with the Bay haters. You gotta love B & Optimus is the same old. Also a nice touch to give Sentinal the 'needs of the many' speech in 'Dark of the Moon'. It's also good to see Transformers in a real world setting. Yeh there are a lot wrong with the films & the big boys are on screen far to little, with too much focus on the humans. The NEST team being the only exception (they kick arse). Still it's either these films or nothing. So I'm more then happy to watch them

Also, I thought the 2nd film was far better, as it brought more of the old history/mythology into it, and it was great to see Frank Welker brought back for Soundwave and Devastator! Think it sucked that MB disregarded the loyal fanbase for the first film, and hated all the cheap jokes and modern culture references - I don't give two fucks if kids these days don't remember tape decks!!! Would love to see Vince DiCola brought back for the score, but thought Steve Jablonksy's score was decent

The first one followed the Transformer's Mythology plenty! Decepticons awake and wreck havoc, Autobots respond and ally with the Humans and a young Whitwicky boy. Whitwicky befriends Bumblebee.

We got great character development too. We see how the US Army is incapable of defending humanity against the overwhelming might of the Decepticons, hence explaining why Autobots are even needed in the first place and why the Army played a small role (even in the cartoons!)

We see struggles and the Decepticons are actually menacing!

Then we get the 2nd Movie.

We barely saw the supporting Autobots in the 2nd Movie. Suuure, we see them shooting and shit the whole day, but we didn't get to see any of the defining characteristics! Bay is ok at Transformers.

He need's to ditch the stupid jokes (or at least cut them down). As it is there's too much 'light' humour, even crude at times.

Slow down the fight sequences by a few frames.

This is a big one. He need's to set it in the far future where there's off-world colonisation with human's on it, just like the cartoon's. That was part of the transformers appeal in the first place.

Another 3 transformers films planned?

I remember seeing the first Michael Bay film, and it ruined my whole fuckin weekend!! I know he is basically gay for anything military, but I hated all the schmalzy 'boy-gets-car-gets-girl' bollocks - if anything, it was Spielberg's influence which fucked it for me.  It was great to see Cullen back as Prime, but can't believe he had to audition for the role!! Also, it was a travesty that Frank Welker wasn't Megatron, don't think much of Hugo Weaving - just not evil enough!!
