  • Thank you Brian Jones - your depiction of Karl Marx is timely and poignant - superb interpretation of Karl Marx's biography.

  • i hate communists their not humans

  • @Gaffer213 *they're

  • @Gaffer213 You also don't know how to use the word "they're" ergo you probably don't even understand what or why you hate.

  • @anarchiaetpax 300 million people where murdered under communism

  • @Gaffer213 No, several million people (tying a number down is next to impossible but I will admit it is definitely in the xxx millions) did die under Maoism and Stalinism. Lenin has his own bloodsoaked hands in purges that eliminated several hundred thousand if not more. The thing here is - Marx disavowed most of these movements before they rose to power as a centralized state authority is not what he sought. I'm not a communist BTW, but neither was Marx. Jesus wasn't a Christian either.

  • @anarchiaetpax the idea of the state taking control is a stupid notion, what else would you expect to happen than death death death? marx was a jew, and wanted the world to be enslaved by jewish overlords get that through your thick skull

  • @Gaffer213 Well its becoming quite clear that replying to your nonsense is of no worth or value to either of us. Clearly you've never made any attempt to read Marx, but if such effort was put forth it would be for naught until you abandon the foolish antisemitic ideology you've ascribed to. I'm going to take a wild guess and assume that you're Christian, you know Jesus was a Jew right? Regardless, get with the 21st century and read a fucking book. Antisemitism is just sad in the modern age.

  • @anarchiaetpax no i'm not christain, and i have read the communist manefsto, it was a joke. Can you deny that 75% of the soviet leadership was jewish?

  • Everyone has to see this master piece of work! When I see that, I know that we still can change this system that reduces women and men, nature, emotions, values, dignity and everything else to MONEY, interests and 'unlimited' growth.

  • Thanks to all who try to inspire us to combat this asocial system of capitalism. And thanks to all who takes action to combat the power of capitalism.

But we do not need priestess to interpret the idees for us. We have just have to collaborate with each other’s thinking and take steps tto organise a more fair society, because everyone earns such fair society!

  • This is wonderful. It has been some time since I have read of and thought of anything to do with Karl Marx. Thank you so much for sharing this and for reminding me of a gentleman who had so much to share and possessed quite a passion for it, too. A huge thanks goes out to Howard Zinn for creating this play and for Brian Jones' incredible performance.

  • Well, No ! Socialism in my humble opinion mixed with Democracy is the best Government that people can participate in for their freedom, which is a lot different than Communism, were you have no say, but what I was originally saying, does Howard Zinn portray Marx correctly ?

  • @k9a2g6 communism is the final stage of developement, it is when there is no need for any government. Socialism is the stage to get to that total freedom.

  • @COMMUNALISM Communism is not the final stage of development. In the words of Althusser, we all read Kapital and continue to read Das Kapital...unfortunately, neither Althusser nor some other individuals making claims and arguments based on their interpretation (or misinterpretation/misreading/lack of reading) of Marx's works...

  • Someone asked me the other day "why did Marx think communism was economically better than capitalism" and use his words, not someone who is a Marxist. So I was wondering just how accurate is this Howard Zinn play "Marx in Soho" ?

  • @k9a2g6 I hope you aren't confusing socialism (communism) with Communism; as in the USSR.

  • Gotta love this play. RIP Mr. Zinn.

  • you should definitely post the whole thing.

  • put up the rest of this please!!!!
