@tacka02 Shelby designed everything that differs on the GT500 from the 5.0 . Just because Shelby doesn't have time to build all the GT500s doesn't mean it's not one. The engines are still hand built by SVT engineers. And Shelby manufactures all the parts.

GT 500 is a muscle car great for drag racing and to show off some donuts at a nearby parking lot whereas the GTR is simply the king of performance whether its on the track or a drag race. its a sports car. buy the GT 500 for the badge, legacy and the history and buy the GTR for some serious racing and sport performance.

Mainly cause it's lighter than the Camaro and (especially) Challenger. GTR's a great car, but it's very sober and composed, like a Japanese businessman. The GT500 (well, Mustangs in general really) is like a crazy American rockstar. I would think the rockstar would better know to have fun ;).
