  • Looks good....... but you need more Tabasco!

  • 3 people apparently do not wanna live when SHTF

  • You can harvest yeast pretty easy with fresh organic fruit. Throw the skins from those in a jar of water, periodically let off the carbonation, when the sugar has been eaten up, mix some flour in and you have usable yeast.

  • City,

You have good common sense advice. Thanks

  • Good video, thanks for sharing . its a good idea to keep your gear and food all together on the main floor of your house, its gonna be more easier to take the max of it if the SHTF realy bad and you need to get out ASAP. I did the same at my home, my supplies was in the basement with gear and guns/weapons/ammo before and one of the prepper here make me realize that i was wrong to keep it almost hiden' in the basement.

Keep doing your good work its realy helpful. Greetings from Quebec, Canada.

  • This video is spot on. Remember the old fable about the grasshopper and the ant? I would rather be the ant. Best case scenario?? Nothing happens and the preppers are ready for whatever comes their way. Worst case scenario? You're not prepared and you and your family is buried in a mass grave....

  • hey citysurvivalist, do you reallly expect the world to end? im seeing all these preppers all of a sudden, in my right mind, i think their all crazy! i dont think the world is going to end, we wont let it happen

  • @juki0h If any of us really thought the world was going to end we wouldn't Prep. Think about it. What we anticipate is that the world is going to change - a lot. And don't worry we don't think you're crazy.

  • @ometec change yes, but not end. people think were living at the end of times, but in my mind, i believe were living at the beginning of time, and this is just the start of it. think about it, how long as earth been here? how long as the univse been here? your saying that within a few years or so, throughout the billions of years earth has been here, its all going to end soon? earth will be here hundreds of thousands of years, so will humans. were not stupid to let it all go to shit

  • @juki0h And again the Prep for the end of times is to not get out of bed. The prep for change is to establish a buffer. This is not the start of times though.

  • @ometec whats the difference? lol, and if you think about it, this is the start of time, billions of years have passed us before humans ever existed, we've only been on this planet for a small fraction of earths history

  • @juki0h Take a long good look around... we are stupid enough to let it all "go to shit", because it already has. There's armed conflict happening all over the globe, it seems as if we're in the midst of another mass extinction, and we can barely buy a loaf of bread w/o going through a metal detector. The world is on the precipice of an economic meltdown that will make "The Great Depression" look like a picnic. No it's not going to end soon.. our way of life is about the end. Take a good look...

  • @MrMicklethal then i guess everyones stupid not to see it coming. if it ends, it end, its coool

  • @juki0h Well I certainly can't disagree with that, thanks for the reply!

  • @juki0h *about to end

  • Be Cautionary about Fuel storage...the vapor will sink to the floor..and will be dangerous around electrical outlets. but Great job of storage.

  • Internetjunky; it's called sta-bil. They make several different kinds now. Some have a water remover some have an added cleaner etc.I keep it in all my gas cans even if I am using it up just in case.

Great video by the way. I have been prepping for a few months now.

  • this dude is on it. someday my prep will look this good..

  • what is the additave you plan to put in the gas? I know after a while of sitting gas can go "stale" (that's what we call it) is there a way to prevent that?

  • you are keeping fuel with your food?

  • you seem to have it going on. well organized and thought out. the only concern is your soon- to- be fuel reserve. Were you going to keep it stored with all your other provisions? If so, if they did ignite you would lose everything you've worked so hard to accumulate plus your house. Just something to think about. I keep mine reserve isolated.

  • check out shelf reliance. They have an AWESOME food storage shelf system for canned foods. It would be perfect for your storage area,.

  • one video i saw had an excellent idea. Kitty litter for toilet buckets. Sounds gross but would minimize smell, it would clump and be scoopable :)

  • cool

  • you mean to tell me theres a limit on the gas...ol shit i betta buy sum gas but i only have 10

  • Where i live if i pay at the pump with a credit card Im limited to $75. if i give my credit card to the cashier inside the station i can then pump to any amount.

  • City, You are very organized that is great! Suggestion, go to thrift store to buy candles, you are paying a fortune for those wedding candles. Buy sale canned foods more in bulk. Hope you keep up the good work.

  • I see this video is from April of 2011 and you mentioned that your gas station would only let you pump up to $75 worth of gas!? Did I misunderstand you or are they rationing gasoline where you live? If they were, thats something we should all be concerned about.

Could you clarify what you were saying there?

  • Thanks for the Vid, Like the organization.

  • Hi . Not disputing what you are doing however , you mention smelly candles could "give position away"

Moreover, would'nt the smell of food cooking give your position away ? Just a thought !

    God bless.Lou.

  • Thanks for the video. Some good ideas. What is the shelf life of the oil? Thanks!

  • So, how often do you rotate through your food? Like, are all those cans of beans going to sit there for 4 years if they are not needed?

  • Go to Costco and buy in bulk.. you can get alot more, for less.

  • Do you have blackout drapes for your windows? Being on the 2nd floor means your windows have longer visibility.

  • Pick up apple cider vinegar it has a Tone of use's

  • Great video!...one thing I thought of you don't have...toilet paper! I think a facebook page for all of us to connect and support each other would really be something important. A network of like minded friends across the country would help when all hell breaks lose. If there isn't one already I would like to start one. Respond if you agree.

  • @bandiahbal I have tons of TP and toiletries its in a different room

  • @bandiahbal there already is. Its called survival. there are tons of preppers on ok page and we constantly talk and share information.

  • those synthetic vitamins are worthless, and some does more harm than good. why take men made vitamins, when you can get the real vitamins made by God. go organic, fruits and grain based vitamins. one thing to note is that every minerals and nutrients deplete chromium. without correct amount of chromium in the body, you get diabetes, heart disease and systemic candida infection which leads to cancer.

  • what do you think...another 20/30,000$.... it won't never end....

  • Nice, a little aquaponic system to back up your long term food store, and your set. Thank you for the vid.

  • vitamans and supplents,a must, do a search on " iodine-magnesium-selenium "these are very important to our health, helps body to detox and gives a serious boost to immune system

  • just saw the rest of the vid where you actually pull it out.....lol

  • Hey man. Between the "Chock full o nuts", and the " Quick oats", ...is that " Cafe Bustelo" ? the reason I ask is because I know the product, its cuban coffee. I drink it all the time and don't know of too many folks other that Cubans and puerto ricans who drink it...... Just askin.

  • lol "I know a guy, who knows a guy" ...who robbed a guy

  • Put your Yeast in the freezer.. it will last way way longer.

  • What about rotating your food stock based on expirations dates?

  • Awesome Video..Thanks for some great ideas..

  • You don't need yeast for bread. You can make sourdough bread instead. The sourdough starter doesn't need refrigeration and can last forever as long as you feed it on a regular basis (flour and water). That's what the people used during the gold rush to make bread.

  • The olive oil can also be used as lamp oil!

  • Hello City, I don't know if you have ever heard of Bread in a can, it's a dark molasses type Bread and one comes with raisins, Taste great toasted.

It's made by B&M company who also make B&M Beans, was ordering off the internet and ended up getting at my local super-market

    aruark6029

  • Good video

  • Do you live in a skyscraper? I wouldn't keep my supplies anywhere near a window that could be broken into.

  • @papillonaquatique No i do not My home is very well protected thanks

  • @CitySurvivalist Oh I am sure it is. I didn't mean to imply that your home is in anyway unsafe. I just don't think I could imagine keeping my food by a window not only in the event of robbers or something like that but because if you are storing things in cans and jars it is best to keep things like that away from any windows due to heating, cooling and lighting issues that can warp long term storage supplies.

  • @CitySurvivalist ducktape the windows when SHTF

  • make bread with natural fermantation,no need for yeast, you can also use grapes, apple peels, potatoes.

  • @papillonaquatique omg you have windows thats horrible LOL

  • @katiebug18371 When it comes to protecting my stockpile I wouldn't place it near a window that would easily be broken into. My comment was intended to be helpful by pointing out a potential weakness because I wouldn't want to see his stuff taken by looters. What did your comment contribute to this discussion? Not a damn thing.

  • @papillonaquatique How many burglars would steal food and drink, when there are probably expensive electronic goods in the neighbourhood?

  • @TheLordSod What burglar is going to be looking for an expensive electronic device if the grid goes down and food supplies are cut off?

There is no limit to what someone will do when they are starving.

  • Nice food supplies. I'm a coffee nut myself--so know what you mean. I was thinking--what would happen if your home, with all of your food supplies were suddenly destroyed?

Our group stores food supplies in three different areas of Alaska. That way, when SHTF--we won't loose all of our food all at once. AND--there's also the fact that you are ALONE with nobody to watch your back, or your food supplies.

THINK ABOUT THAT!! All the guns, gears, and beans don't amount to crap unless you got buds!

  • The Fuel Pump cut you off at $75 because that is the maximun Visa or MC allows at the pay at the pump per transaction. If you prepaid with cash you could buy as much gas as you wanted. Or you could swipe your card again a 2nd time, and get another $75 worth of gas. Just a FYI In a sh tf situation the station may limit you so much gas per transaction..

  • I moved into this apartment and was disappointed by the kitchen cabinets. I bought 3 each 5-shelf wire rack units (36"x18") and built 2 6-shelf units for pantry and one 3-shelf unit for storage. I also bought 10-plastic crates and a 200-pound capacity dolly. The dolly is small and fits in my truck. I can move 4-crates of grocery to the home per trip. when I have empty crates I shop.

got salt, black pepper, and raisins? Can you make bannock, biscuits, pancakes, cornbead, cornmeal mush?

  • I do not want to burst your prep bubble. But I understand that you live on the second floor. Are you in an appartment ? What about your heating system ? I would slow down on the prep and consider a better living accomodation.

  • Great vid.Thanks

  • You should clearly mark the expires date on each product with a felt tip and then use the edge of that shelf to tag dates so you can clearly see what to rotate into your regular pantry. its really helpful to not lose food do to expiring.

  • becareful of how long you store the gas, because it can go flat

  • did you get enough subs yet

  • Hey city, just a thought on storing gas. I have several different size gas cans for a total of 27gal. It's a pain in the you know what but, I use that to fill up my car and then takes those in to refill. I know we don't always have the time to do that however once a month and you should always have fresh gas. Awesome vids by the way.

  • store the liquid on the bottom shelf

  • Seeds would be a good thing to hold onto.

  • Amazing video!keep em up!

  • Good vid. I'm enjoying all of yours. One thing I haven't seen mentioned and ties in to your sewing and buckles - Webbing. there are a few widths and you can buy it by the roll like para cord. Also get some big sewing/ upholstery needles at a craft shop. That way can fix web gear/ customize it, or make your own as it might be to heavy for your sewing machine or in case power is out.

  • I'm a spam ham anyway. lol

  • Airsoft in the gun case?

  • you can make bread without yeast it just takes a lot longer, there is what's called natural yeast and making the bread can take up to 3 days

  • Right on, man. Good work.

  • you can make bread without yeast - irish soda bread and indian/cowboy bread don't take yeast and are basically no fail breads

  • Don't know if you mentioned it and I always do this so sorry if I'm not the first but fyi secure the racks to the wall. I live in the NW and there tends to be earthquakes and it's crazy how many of my neighbors don't even do that. just a heads up man. Nice set up you look like you're pretty squared away.

  • for vitamins look into animal paks. they are for working out and all that fun stuff however they have pretty much everything you will need. expensive however it brings everything you need into a small packet. essentially your spending the same

  • subbed

  • Great preps!!! :)

  • @MrNukinFutz I was thinking the same thing. You could cover the window with foil,(foil helps with temp and light) put a thick (blackout) curtain up and then put another shelf in front of it. Storage is storage right!

  • This is very organized. I have been considering starting my SHTF stock up. I am a single parent to an 11 yr old boy so I will probably need to start with my gun permit... for protection of course. Great video!!

  • with the gas thing, you just puth the pump back, re-slide your card, and keep filling up your truck.... pain in the but, but you'll be able to fill it up if you do two seperate transactions.

  • Should have mentioned - you can make a great portable grill and or stove out of your ammo can to!

  • Store some Ultraseal for your truck tires which will really be of value when needed.

  • There 20 litre containers. Yer gonna need alot more then a 100 litres of gas. Get rid of the SUV. Those things drink gas. Convert your engine to bio diesel and start making how to make your own bio diesel.

  • ~Semper Fi~

  • Cool vid brother, we call spam Hawaiian steak lol. check out. I appreciate that you are showing what can be done in a confined space, awesome. I use aqua-tainers from walmart you can get em for about $14.00 ea. add (oil of oregano, clove and garlic) there great antibiotic/antifungal medicinal uses, keep your immune system up) we also use coloidal silver.

  • god bless my fellow preppers when the shtf i wish you the best of luck.join your local militia or prepper groups they just may save your life

  • What will you do with all those supplies if you have to get out of dodge fast? I think when the tyrants come to disarm american patriots they will confiscate their food, and supplies also, and that is why I have always stressed having an underground bunker somewhere nobody can locate, and only have a firearm on hand with the rest in the bunker. Then once you have to move out to your secret location to hide out until the worse is over, then when you come out, it will be less tyrants to deal with.

  • Thanks for the video. Regarding the pump cutting off at $75 that often happens when you use a credit card but since gas getting more expensive it is more noticeable now. To circumvent that just hit the button to pay after you pump if that's an option and you can go higher, usually up to $200 at a time. Just talk to the clerk where you usually fuel up and see what their rules are.

  • You can make flat bread w/o yeast called TORTILLAS ONLY the best flat bread EVER there are videos on here on how to make them and they ARE WAY BETTER than any store bought ones EVER.

  • I just wanted to let you, and others know that, you do not have to have yeast to make bread. You can have a starter made up of potatoe flakes, flour, sugar, and water. This bread I make, from a starter my sister gave me, is so good I can not keep a loaf in the house over night. And of course, there are other types of breads which require no yeast. One more thing, you might want to store your yeast in the freezer. It will, over time, become inactive. Peace

  • @Kashmir2000is great point will you post the recipe?

  • Very good video and well put together, no offence its nice to see a video by someone who is not a redneck, gunnut, paranoid youtuber. Once again no offense because those people will DEFINATLY survive.

  • Vinegar can be used for cleaning..in bathing..in a drink for medicinal purpose(add honey) back in the medival times , the people who dealt with picking up the dead bodies during the plague bathed in it when they got done, they used it to drink so they didn't get the plague..factoid :)

  • @Woodsygirl62 TY good to know!

  • @CitySurvivalist Honey is good to put on cuts too less chance of infection. :)

  • @Woodsygirl62 Im a Vinagar freak like the old timers I guess : ) I keep a few spray bottles and we use it for everything from cleaning to Medical needs like Dandruff and athletes feet.

If you use it on skin the smell goes away as soon as it dries but my husband did say if it rains he smells like vinegar agin . LOL he started to protest a bit then

In the kitchen it cuts through any grime if you let it sit for ten minutes and it cleans my windows. I havent bought household cleaners in 3 years

  • Your vids always seem very well put together......cool.

  • @BLACKHEARTSE7EN TY4 the support!

  • Good stuff

  • i like you had things like tape, first aid etc, in plastic bins. Very organized and easy to find in an emergency.

  • @MsAnna4040 TY

  • You need to make your food storage room as dark as you possibly can...perhaps room darkening drapes would help. Light is not your friend...it dramatically shortens the shelf life of your food. Good start.

  • @katzcradul Good tip! but what hows does light affect cans? or is it the heat?

  • @CitySurvivalist Right, if you darken the room, it should bring the temp down a couple of degrees, especially during the summer. You probably have some items, like ketchup, jelly, vitamins, etc, that aren't in cans that would be susceptible to light.

  • @katzcradul K got it... ty

  • your the first that I have seen to sugest sewing, very good idea!!!

  • @avair12 TY

  • Good job! FYI to get a good deal on vitamins get them from puritans pride dot com. They always have buy one get one free or buy two get three free. Good quality and good low prices. My grandmother used to purchase from their catalog long ago. I never get my vitamins anywhere else. Also make sure to have lots of those ramen on hand for the people who didn't prep. Give it to them once and then you will be able to sleep at night. Thanks for sharing. Noreen

  • @atticus9799 Great Tip Thanks!
