  • heard this on one tree hill i had to shazam it :)

  • Saw them live a couple of years ago. But I didn't know this song before. And when they played this song, I went to the wardrobe. I F*CKING REGRET THIS SO MUCH!!!!!!

  • Great song! Going to see these guys live in September in San fransisco for the bleed American 10 year anniversary tour cant wait my favorite band ever!

  • I now have full trust in the 'Let YouTube choose' button. My favourite song 2 years back and not far off being it again.

  • Cause you put your emotions and feelings in a song doesn't mean you are an emo.

And maybe is this a song about a real happen.

    Love it.<3

  • Somebody please, please add this to Playlist.com. It was my favorite and it's gone. =( Yeah, I'm THAT chick.

  • As far as the arguments go... let's be honest. ALL music is emo, if the lyrics are personal to anyone, anywhere. Emo is short for emotional, so by that standard, Tool, The Rolling Stones, Godsmack, Toby Keith, and Dashboard Confessional are all equally emo. The name just got hijacked somewhere along the long, and it means absolutely nothing anymore.

As far as the song itself... definitely emotional to me. Favorite JEW song (and 2nd favorite song of all time.)

  • this song makes me think of Twin Peaks :D

  • great song i personally think it fits the "melodic post-doom techno emo-core dub" sub category but who's splittin hairs

  • worryin about what sub genre your bands fit into "i like melodic hardcore post doom emocore dub" myself

  • jumped in the chorus a little early. But I love them. Shiveringly good song.

  • man. those drums are haunting.

  • they are teachers of good music!

    Just listening

  • the cures disintegration is better

  • Jimmy Eat World are Emo. but not the bad Emo. The good one! not the awful "shopping mall emo" sound

  • Comment removed

  • I went searching for the cure video and think i found a new band just because its an emotional song doesnt mean emo i mean look at Fade to black

  • Wow! They're really amazing live.

  • Amazing sound live!

  • What happened to the love we both knew?

    We both chased.

  • temazo

  • It depends...these guys aren't part of the emo "scene" today despite the emotional music. It actually is good unlike the threadbare emo counterparts like ATL and FOB.

  • Emo stands for Emotional...this is really emotional music..not the "emo cutting stuff" there are different types of "emo"

  • Awesome!

  • Are these guys really considered Emo? I love this song and can't stand Emo but this doesn't sound Emo.

  • there not *emo* :)

  • What's your definition?

I consider all of their songs to be very emotional ^_^

  • Comment removed

  • i think because they were around at the time a lot of emo bands were making a name for themselves, and yea a lot of thier songs esp the older stuff are *emotional* they got stuck with the title. People will always classify bands into genres and everyones parameters for this are different..Ive read the band them selves just class themselves as a rock band . But whatever they are classed it dosent really matter as long as you enjoy the music : )

  • Incredibly well put. Couldn't have said it better myself.

  • @passengeruk Dude yeah they are emo, go google them and their impact on music, they are the first and official "emo" band and created the "emo" genera. Just because emo kids are gay and they tend to listen to this music doesn't mean it's not emo. The genera "emo" doesn't mean whiny long haired fags who wear black clothes, genera "emo" means it makes emotional music, a lot of emotion is involved in the music, personal emotions and personal stories. That's it, not whiney goth kids.

  • @passengeruk because they did splits with jejune and christie front drive. dude, they WERE emo. they used to embrace emo, now they hate it yet still make it..or stuff similar to it. whatever you want to think, they were a big part of the emo scene when i was a kid. i remember it well.

  • @musicforchewfaygs whaen i say "emo" in speechmarks i mean what my daughter who is 13 would say is emo not the stuff we may have listened to as teens

  • i think they fall under awesome.

    just me

  • it's a different kind of emo - emotional but not just for the sake of it. Quality music.

  • @blackops417 Yeah it is emo music, they created the emo genera. Emo genera doesn't me, whiney long haired, bitch goth kids, it just means music and lyrics that have a lot of emotion or personal attachment or stories. It has nothing to do with the trend "Emo".

  • @blackops417 You sir are an idiot, no offense, but really... this is one of their most emo songs about a break up. Did it not occur to you that Jimmy Eat World is the first emo band ever? They created the genre emo... emo does mean whiney bitchy kid who wears black and cuts himself, all it means is music with large emotional feeling in it and makes you feel good when you listen to it. Whiney bitchey wrist cutting music is called "Faggy music" not "Emo music". :)

  • @blackops417 Jimmy Eat World are emo in a way, because of their emotional lyrics. However, they were an "emo" band back in their early days, before emo became almost like a culture. Believe it or not emo used to be a fucking amazing genre, with examples like J.E.W. But thanks to modern day "emo" bands the idea of emo has changed completely and it's just looked at these days as a trend or a fashion scene. It's such a shame too :(

  • @blackops417 If they are emo, who cares? They fucking rule.

  • @blackops417 they are heavily influence by REAL emo. Clarity is undoubtedly an emo album but they have became more of a rock/alternative band.

  • @thekeyboardplayer but the play the good emo ; )

  • @blackops417

Jimmy ARE "emo" but not as its understood today. Emo is very different now to what it was known as in the midd 90s which was when Jimmy were hitting the scene and considered "emo". Their wiki page and the emo wiki page actually gives a good explanation of it.

  • @blackops417

I love this song too, but come on, it's a little emo

  • ignore steaksalads comments he obv knows its not a cover but for some reason enjoys posting idiotic comments on videos

  • advion's right, you're an idiot sir

  • It's not a cover of The Cure song idiot.

  • this isn't a cover?

  • no :)

  • Steak, this is NOT a cover. This is a totally different song, silly.

    Get a grip.

  • this song is the sex

  • This is my all-time favorite song. Ever. Wish I could see it live.

  • MI BANDA FAVORITA, sigo sus pasos

  • God.. It makes me want to loose myself in it

  • fucking. amazing.

  • brilliant work...!!! I'm kind of Rocking lover, but this song incredibly composed as well as produced, I've tried these Guitar Chords couple of times& it gets me ON !! Jimmy (you) eat world....!!!

  • I'm pretty sure they played Dizzy at this show (though I'm not entirely sure so ignore this comment if they didn't). Assuming that they did, did anyone get that live recording of them from Fabchannel before they went under? I've been looking around for a soundboard recording of Dizzy for an eternity...that would make my day if I could somehow hear that.

    Thanks ^_^

  • Yea they did dizzy ill put it up when i get chance

  • Thank you so much...That should be at the top of my playlist. No rush though...but again thanks so much.

  • ok tis done :)

  • asombroso, e intenso,

  • i was there, one hell of a show!

  • jimmy eat world's the best band ever. just sayin'.

  • They are amazing! I wish they would come to Montreal :(

  • love this song. makes my heart beating!

  • I had the privilege to see them in Oct of '07. They have one of the best live shows I have EVER seen. They played this song and blew the recording out of the water, which is pretty hard to do. They are the type of band that can continually outdo themselves. Incredible performers... Also, Jim Adkins is a sweaty, sweaty man.

  • Incredible performance

  • incredible

  • There is only one word to describe this song: powerful. Simple as that. Usually I post long, insightful posts on videos that I like, but on this one, it all boils down to that one emotion: powerful.

  • i love the way he just belts it out for the last minute and a half. amazing.

  • its off an ep they brought out in 95 just after futures called stay on my side tonight

  • Uh... '95?

  • i think this sums up jimmy eat world in a package of feelings indescribable to man....

  • esta cancion suena mas padre en concierto

  • this is one of jimmy eat world's best song! its amazing even better live! can't stop listening to it!

  • I know! I don't usually think songs sound better live, but this is really something else.

  • WOW Jimmy Eat World are the best hands down....them and The Fray!!!

  • don't even compare them with The Fray...

  • the fray dont even come close....

  • loved it on their cd, loving it better live especially at the end.... so much emotion, so much feelings. i love this song.

  • love it

  • It's no cover.... retards.. besides.. the cure is garbage.

  • you have a small penis

  • most people know its not a cover just seems to be one person who needs to do more research on music that keeps insisting it is

  • Disintegration is NOT a cover. HALF RIGHT was a cover from this EP, you sorry bunch of idiots.

  • awesome song!

  • Love this song so beautifully written and sang!

Love Jimmy Eat World now that i mention it!

  • best song ever written!!!! loveee it!!!!!

  • This is magical <3

  • BREATHTAKING!!

  • amazing song, sae this one live and that one gave me the creeps.

sounds sad but has an amazing power. its the best, to see jim singing loudly 4:40

  • its not a cover they just have the same name lol

  • like many other "disintegrations" xD

  • I thought the Cure's version was good, but this is much better. Why would they do a song by a British band though? That's jus' weird!

  • not a cover.... and they have done covers by british bands before such as duran duran , the wedding present and even prodigy .

  • its not a cover dumb ass.

  • Yeah, but it is a cover of the Cure's song. They both do this song, this version is way better and sounds much more upbeat than the original.

  • God... It's no a cover man!!

  • it is not the same song

only the name is a coincidence

  • they really are great live and their shows rock!

I've seen em twice this past year already:

Philly Feb 25 and Boston April 2.

    AMAZING BAND and GUYS!!!

  • their concerts are AHHH MAZINGGG

  • Definetly nothing short of AHHH MAZINGGG, thats for sure.

  • for some reason i saw on a video for the cures disintegration that people were saying this was a cover of that... it's not.

  • yeah i just watched the cure video and its def not the same. both good songs anyway, but i think Jimmy Eat World put a lot more heart into the performance.

  • I saw them live in East Lansing last year. Hadn't heard this song before but it was probably my favorite of the night.

  • ... they were in East Lansing last year?... oh no.. what have I missed? I hate myself...

  • Yeah, I think it was in November. Could be wrong on the month. I went with my brother, who is a big Jimmy Eat World fan. It was at the MSU Auditorium. Good show, considering I did not really know what to expect.

  • they were exellent in pontiac too last year

  • J.E.W is the best

    I jus saw'em

in the clarity tour up here in N.Y on the

    23rd of feb

One of the greatest band live.

When your great live you have talent.

  • I saw them in liverpool last year and this was the only song i didnt know at the time but it was great, only just realised what it is from stay on my side tonight

  • Saw J.E.W. in dublin last Feb, never heard this song before, it was awesome, of course it was awesome, it was awesome as shit.

  • you make my day! thank you! =D

  • wow!

  • lol sums it up pretty well

  • mexicanos arriba (the jimmy ) les dise qie bengan amexico
