    BTW wtf with the $99 routing cards... are they made of gold or what's the deal jajaja?

  • dude the 500 costs about 80, the 600 about 200. Would you say it is worth paying alot more for the 600?

  • @Kardenum Nope the only reason I'd buy an STK600 is if I was going to want to work with AVR32-UC3 as well as AVR8. If just AVR8 then the STK500 is MUCH better value for money and will do everything you want (with DIP packaged AVRs). As it has an RS232 connection to the PC you will need to spend another $10 on an off the shelf USB-RS232 converter cable from any good electronics store.

    (BTW one "hidden cost" of the 600 is that the routing cards are $99 each too)

  • Do you know how to connect the AVR Dragon to the STK600. When I read the device signature from the AVR Dragon, it is giving me a "Wrong signature" warning?

    Any thoughts, please?
