  • A deep tribute to all that give their lives, to save us all ! THANK YOU BRAVE SOLDIERS ! From PORTUGAL with respect, one day i will visit NORMANDIE.

  • 2 people hoped this was a video for a play station 3 game! Grow up a*** holes!

  • the music just makes me cry ;)

  • Were it not for the allied nations many countries may not be free today - I am grateful to all who defended our freedoms - each country played its part as it was able or moved to - tbarn9 - I am not one of the people who bad mouth your country - rather I appreciate all that Roosevelt and America did - and agree with some of what you say but I will never give any one country credit for the victories in WW 1 or WW 2 it was the Allied Nations together. Nuff' said!

  • damn straight!! My European friends, I urge you to teach your grandchildren how America sent her men and materials across the sea to SAVE YOUR ASS....FOUR TIMES!! WW1, WW2, Cold War and the current War of Terror. It matters not what your 'opinion' is of those conflicts. Facts are that you have been safe in your homes to eat cheese and badmouth us. Thats ok. Really. Just remember what Bush said at the end of his speech..."We would do it again for our friends."

  • @tbarn9 you USA were in both wars you played a major part but no 1 country won this war on there own the battle of britain was the first battle Hitler lost on the beaches on d day 3 of the 5 did not have us troops on the point i am making is many countries stood together to bring peace in both wars

  • @tbarn9

I suggest you to open the right history books. US WW1 intervention was useful, but a minor part. US troops came the last year of this war, losing only 120000 troops; while the French held the front almost alone from 1914 to 1918, losing 1,4 million killed and 4,5 million woundeds, for a population of 40 million. Entire generations. Main WW1 battles were won by the French, like VERDUN, in 1916, which is considered as the greatest battle ever, with almost 1 million casualties.

  • @tbarn9

And what is this war on terror crap ? Europe is not under islamist terror. War in Afghanistan is only to control oil and gas ressources. That's the point. And Iraq was a total disaster. Almost 4500 US troops killed, and a country in total chaos after 9 years of US occupation. For what ? Maybe, you should come in the real world, and stop to be brainwashed by Hollywood stuff, and Neocons propaganda.

  • If it wasn't for the USA and the USSR we would all be speaking German

  • @morejitas Wtf are you talking about? The USSR didnt save us from shit we would have seized all of Germany if the Russians didnt retaliate. You should say thank you to the UK they withstood countless beatings and heavy bombings for 6 years the U.S joined the war later on...

  • @PlainFizz I would like you to rethink what you typed and get back to all of us.

  • @SpoilerAlert87 Well, im sorry if that made you offended in anyway but thats my perspective of ww2.

  • @PlainFizz Well your perspective is wrong, i'm afraid... Now, I am not trying to be mean when I am saying this... but! It sounds like you are saying that the US and Russia did nothing and should not be thanked.

  • @morejitas The nazis wouldn´t expect from you to speak german...they would expect from you to die! With greetings from germany

  • @morejitas

""If it wasn't for the USA and the USSR we would all be speaking German""

The British weren't speaking German when the Commies and Yankls weren't even in the war.

Britain was the country that declared war on Germany. The Soviets and the Americans didn't. They only joined the war after THEY were attacked/declared war on.

If it wasn't for the British defence in 1940 and 194 then the Axis would have controlled ALL of Europe, the Med, North Africa, Middle East and eastern Atlantic.

  • USA PROPAGANDA

  • @TheDewpup USA PROPAGANDA MY ASS!!!! THIS IS THE REAL THING.

  • @TheDewpup its about paying respect to the ones that died, including family members of mine. from me to you, FUCK YOU!

  • Good on Tom Hanks, sense of responsibility and a real gent.

  • IF British and American men who fought that day could have seen what their countries would have turned into, they never would have allowed themselves to be deployed.

  • MATASEREANU

Typical eurotrash response on your part. Not surprising that your name is the same as the POS from the shootout with LA police after robbing a bank and was killed. Fuck you eurotrash, if it wasn't for the USA you would be speaking German or have been killed in a concentration camp asshole. You are welcome jagoff!

  • Duh.

    I think that meth ?? A 12 hour flight?

    Fuck You.

    Rich

  • TYPICAL AMRICAN PROPAGANDA BULSHIT ....SAME OLD BULSHIT !!!!!!!!!!

  • @MATASEREANU I don't understand how it's propaganda or bullshit. I had two great uncles die there.

  • @MATASEREANU

IF IT WASENT FOR THE USA YOU WOULD NEVER EVEN HAVE THE FREEDOMS YOU HAVE TODAY!!!!!

SO GO FUCK YOUR SELF ASS HOLE.

  • When Walter E. Ehlers talked about he`s brother that died, the tears showed up :,I God bless evry People and not just America but ALL those men who fougth aginst Hitler and the Nazis, You will be rememberd

  • 2:04 is when i cracked. POW/MIA never forgotten. a small tomb for a unknown solider who was laid to rest looking east over the horizon. were with the right set of eyes you can almost see the top of miss libertys torch and how bright it shines.

  • what i really dislike about this is that they put the d day casualties with the men who were dieing across normandy and france, so only if you watch in to a cross you'll know who die in d day if you won't all the crosses look like the same, d day casualties, either way they are fucking heros !

  • Busch he dont no werer his ass are

  • Comment removed

  • i dont mean 2 offend any usa people but bush is a tyrant

  • how was he a cruel and oppressive leader. You do know what the word "tyrant" means, right?

  • Americans will always fight for freedom ALWAYS

  • @trav1971 took there time about it tho as europe was geing concered by hitler and the british asked for help they said no it was only till after the japs bombed pearl harbour the usa entered the war but i see why they didnt join the war and we wouldnt have won it without the usa, russians and the french resistance

  • France, we were able to come to help you because in large part you came to help us be free in the first place. Our men repaid the debt.

  • Good video. Noble and important of course if we remember on what happened! But dont forget who else fought there and lost lives! "...WHERE CAN WE FIND PEOPLE LIKE THESE? IN A M E R I C A ..." HALLO?! What about the British, Canadian, Australien,...?! And YES, what about the Germans? Everyone who lost his live there or anywhere else in that war made ULTIMATE SACRIFICES! It´s no matter of who is guilty and who is not!

" ... AND AMERICA WOULD DO IT AGAIN FOR OUR FRIENDS..." PFFFT...

  • It's a very nice tribute to our fallen heroes.

    Rest in peace.

A member of "Les Fleurs de la Mémoire" association: at US war cemetery of Colleville-sur-Mer, we decorate many of these white crosses and in a few years, or less, all the 9,387 crosses and the MIA will be adopted. We also do the same at US war cemetery of Saint-James.

    God bless the USA.

  • Tom Hanks is not good actor, his also smart and has great personality.

  • yah if hes a bad actor how has he whom 2 best actors

  • ooops i meant not only good actor* srry my English sux....n btw that comment was 5months ago :o.

  • dude i love tom hanks, hes done so much for the ww2 community,

  • and no wonder why Tom is the most trusted celebrity in the US.

  • There were, you just weren't there so you wouldn't know.

  • why would you send that to me, i made no action toward you or a negative comment toward this video

  • @TrackStar828

    lol

  • quote"...where will we find men like these ?"

I doubt we ever will, lets just pray we wont need to either.

  • Not a single word about the British and Canadian troops that also fought and died on D-Day. WHY?

  • Or Norwegian's..

and yeah the British, and Canada..

  • @Manfromelpaso NO FRICKEN KIDDING. My brethren had their OWN beach and the british had TWO that makes THREE... Rip Common wealth, you will be remebered

  • @Manfromelpaso because USA always takes all honours.... they are false saints

  • i dont like tom hanks..it seems as if he doesnt realy give a shit about any of those who dies, but only for the mony and wealth bought to him through his acting career.....the real people we should be supporting are those who lost their lifes and fought for our country so we have the chance to make it in life

  • i bet he cares more about who has died than u do.

  • i know someone collecting money on those who served in ww2 by filming a video cares more than anyone else...what a stupid comment you think i dont take their lost lives into account...maybe you should see my wall of dedication to those who died in my house...sorry i cant film a movie about ww2 but trust me i care a whole hell of alot more than someone like tom hanks

  • then u watch my upcoming ww2 vid and u tell me who cares more...someone who actually has had a family member in there or one who has had one die in the war. u tell me.

  • wwhat the fuck is your problem what do u have to start a fight on who cares more, you obsessive little fuck let it go already

  • I'm a 20 year old French girl and I truely thank all the soldiers who came here to save our country and who died for our freedom as well. They will always be remembered for their bravery and their sacrifice!

We'll never forget you, we'll always be extremely grateful for what you did! :)

Merci à tous ces soldats qui nous ont libérés!

  • That's a really wonderful message. Merci beaucoup.

We all owe those men so much.

  • Awesome. Thank you .

  • a job well done"a rest well earned" thanks fella's may the dear lord grant you eternal peace

  • I think that their generation was one of the greatest in all of history. I mean making the greatest invasion of all of history and knowing that you have a "slim" chance of returning. I might just be a teenager, but I would be so honored to serve with Easy or any of the Allies. Even the Nazis had their highlights during the war.

  • Not like the soviets mate. Its got to be said fair play to all of the western allies but the war in the east was the most savage and decisive. Just look at some of the battles. The soviets never seem to get due credit for annhialating what had to be the best army in the world. They still reckon they lost 30 million soldiers and civilians in order to survive.

  • Good point!! The first few battles tht I quickly thought of when I read this was,of course Stalingrad, Leningrad, Moscow,Berlin ( although this battle was in the East). I think that without the high ranked officers and leaders changing their tactics from straight up charging and wasting good soldiers to using their soldiers, tanks, snipers, artillery WISELY(!), than Russia would be crushed. I personally think that at Stalingrad Germany should have won it! PERSONAL PREFERANCE.

  • The Soviets sold 805 of raw materials the Nazi used, they were betrayed and fought back, nothing heroic here.

  • Maybe because the soviets forced the nations they were suppose to be liberating into puppet states.

  • the greatest generation. I only wish ours could achieve what they did and deserve such distinction and respect/

  • "Well Said"

  • I have been to the memorials and omaha on a school trip. When you visit the memorial, it really really hits you to see the sheer number. Some of the old pillboxes are still there too. It really does make you think...

  • the greatest generation

  • Dammit....Just go on hatin america... Till we bail your ass again...

  • david thats bullshit, ever country played a part in the war...jesus christ if you go around saying that type of stuff your just making people hate america yourself...

  • I'm French and I live in Normandy, in Caen.
