buddy is one of the people clapton doesnt have to hold back when he plays with them on stage. buddy guy is just better than him. although, buddy seems to be a little low in the mix in this number.
its not like that, as far as I see from the video buddy was a quest in the jam... that's why (in my opinion) he stayed 'low'.. it was eric show.. modesty ma man!
really glad you posted this - thank you. its a super clip, great to see them both having so much fun, remember hearing clapton being interviewed once, talking about hearing a buddy guy riiff on an album called "folk festival of the blues", and it being a huge inspiration to him. funnily enough I have the same album - same riff had same effect on me...just I didn't become quite so good :( . without buddy guy would clapton have become the player he became ? This is great stuff, thanks
I have seen some footage of Buddy Guy and Eric Clapton at this same place but ...jamming to different songs, I give this one a 5 star rating as far as "You Tube" rules are concerned, but as far as I am concerned, I give it a ten star rating if not more......Clapton has always said that one of his favs to jam on stage with is the one and only Buddy Guy......
Superb ! I had this clip on betamax tape. If my memory serves me right, it was broadcast as part of a South Bank Show special on ITV in 1987- 1988 ? Two brilliant guitarists jamming away and enjoying what they do.
Seriously, how can anyone not like this?

I love it when Buddy changes guitars mid-song. He's like a machine-gunner whose barrels get too hot.

Look at the pale-faced coke sweat on Clapton.

Looks like Clapton is playing through a red knob fender twin. Probably the house amp.
