She needs to sort out her separation of the stroke, for a start, she needs to pivot more over at back stops and hold the legs down for a fraction longer.
Outstanding ? where? I don't see it... Please , put the woman, in a Empacher.. a swift , or a fillipi.. but , not in a bath tub... there, even the noober rower... it's like, you dont need to balace almost... it balances by itselve.
Also She need confidence through her stroke rather then holding onto to oars for dear life. I would give her a five out of ten for this. Have another opinion from another coach, I always do this I get coaches to look at my stroke with a fine tooth comb to find what they don't like. For instance try and roll the oar into your knuckles as you go up the slide this will give the clunking sound you hear from elite crews. because you have a higher chance of hurting your wrist if you don't.
@GregHuismans Just some constructive criticism, don't take everything to heart. You placed your video out upon the internet to show "outstanding" sculling technique. You've brought it upon yourself.
Finally continuing on from her feathering she is squaring up far too late, from my training I’ve always been told to start squaring up as the hands pass over the knees and finish as they pass over the feet as this then sets you up to 'drop' the blades in at the catch maximising the drive in the water, unless in poor conditions such as a strong head wind, but since no such conditions exist in this clip there is no valid reasoning for the 'outstanding' sculler to do so.
@thehalfbloodgreek You too. Post something to show the rest of us mortals your magnificent talents. Right now your only talent seems to be talking someone to death.
Furthermore she's feathering with her wrists, which to start off with isn't bad but she then holds it in her wrists rather that her fingers and also squares with her wrists which over a prolonged amount of time will cause pain and weakness in the wrists and forearms and if not corrected will cause damage as I know from a friend of mine who developed tendonitis from prolonged 'wrist feathering'
I don't know about you but I wouldn't call this 'outstanding' Technique. For starters even in a stupidly wide training scull she's having trouble getting her blades off the water, this might have something to do with the fact that her hands round the finish are a bit too slow as well as the fact that she has no tap down to speak of.

@Thymesbeast Please show us how it's done by posting your own video. Any talentless bore can talk the talk but unlike you the girl can walk the walk.

It's an open water scull, instead of a racing scull.

Don't know what you're watching but this looks like a single scull to me!

Wouldn't it be a better way of emphasising great technique by having this girl or another oars[wo]man in a single scull rather than a tub?
