I actually think it's very anti-David Lynch in the sense that this film proves (as Maddin himself said) that an "arthouse" movie doesn't have to be slow ...Not that I don't enjoy how rightfully slow-paced Lynch's (or Kubrick's or Herzog's) movies can be.

Saw this tonight. Wasn't sure at first if I could follow it because of the style, but quickly became absolutely enthralled with it.

amazing film! saw last night in SF, disappointingly small crowd. Dark and beautiful. wish I could have seeen it "live" in NY with Lou Reed.

well it's KIND of a silent film, there's a narrator the whole time but the actors and their actions are done in silent film method. Watch at your own risk!

i don't get it
i saw it performed in LA with udo kier doing the narration
and thought it was the best thing i have seen in a theater in years
