Kathy, you are expressively and creatively unequalled. You appeared at the Apple Blossom Festival in Winchester, VA, a few years ago; and, at Mt. Jackson circa 2008. Please email me @ msintegrator@hotmail.com. I would love to have you play at my daughter's PhD celebration soon. With much respect, Mark
heh, a favorite song for this trucker. I love this country but look forward to the day I can actually do the same as this song sings about. BTW, just saying hi to all my brother and sister truckers, both here and overseas.
Last night I saw Kathy for the 4th time and as always, she was flawless. Such a beautiful voice, great songs and an obvious love for what she does. Love her!
so sad that only the folks of New York are able to enjoy a live performance of the fantastic Kathy Mattea...how about Germany...I'm sure i won't be the only one in the audiance....God bless you
@DolphinKarlheinz Hey man, I'm a true American. That means I'm a mix.... half German, half Cherokee indian. I live in Stuttgart now with my German wife. Where are you? I'm with you, If Kathy Mattea were to come to Germany I would try very hard to be there.
Love the song! I have been on the road for many years (3 million miles). Hope to retire (if I can keep the market going up) in a few years (6 years). Then, hopefully, I can do some of what I want. Thank you for the years of good music!
Grew up as a truckers son. Drove myself played this song on my last over the road run. Local driving now never leaving the wife again for a job. Truckers do cry. One of the great trucking songs.

when i 1st heard this song i couldn't get enough of it, but something happened and it disappeared. it never got as much play time that it should have had.........
Very hard to match the sound of this great performer. Clean, direct, excellent vocals and a terrific band as a backup. When does she come down to Lou's Blues down here in Melbourne, Fl?
She is very down to earth, you can "feel" that from her personality that shines through each song. She is a beauty inside & out,you can just tell.Love her music & voice! xoxo rocker53zero introduced her to me on here,he has great taste! xo
20 yrs on the road and that song just makes me cry......it is a hard life...one divorce with 3 kids, and a second wife that just does not get it,,,,it is a hard life and this song is great.....
Kathy has brought a breath of fresh air into country music and saves us listening o the same sad old crap that we have had chucked at us for over a quarter of a century.
Generally, I like rodeo songs better than trucker songs but Kathy and the musicians and the songwriter(s) make this an exception.
I just listened to her doing "Coal Tattoo" and they are such _different_ songs. And it's so easy to think "this is the best song ever" while you listen to _either_ of them.
Kathy, I heard this song today on my way home from a 1000 mile trip with my Grandkids, I have driven School Bus for 25 years and 18 wheelers for a long time along with being a rancher. When I hit 30 years of driving that old Cruiser, I'm gonna retire.........
Awesome! Wish I had been there singing along. You may be glad I wasn't! Saw you on Ralph Emery's show and heard you on Rick and Bubba recently - great stuff! Thanks!
Love you Kathy, saw you in concert at the Fl State Fair Grounds with Highway 101 and Alabama and you were the bomb. This was your last young and a little boy from the crowd gave you a dozen roses at the end, it rocked. God Bless You
Really, really looking forward to seeing you at the Bluebird Cafe on Wednesday 01/09/08 In The Round with Jon Vezner,Pat Donohue and Kim Richey, A Benefit for Alive Hospice.

She's adorable. Kitten/puppy adorable AND a desirable adult woman. This is one of her happier songs.
"The more you drink, the better we sound." How cute.

AS much as "Where've You Been," brought a bittersweet tear to my eye, this song did whatever the opposite of that is.
This song makes me happy.
