Interesting, i can feel my chakra's my third eye seems to start buzzing everyday, hopefully i can learn something i have had some surreal experiences im naturally skeptical but ive experienced weird things like my crown chakra seemingly opening felt like a brain orgasm the best i can do to describe.

@fpinon5150 : learn to breathe deep into your dantien/tantien area (just below your belly button) .. chi kung class or tai chi class would help teach you to do this .. i do not know about reiki.. but it might help .. shiatsu massages are good from experience

@mag930 yes, Japanese people can teach reiki in a clear way without all the new age mumbo jumbo, about psychic attacks, cords of attachment's and angel's. I feel the new age movement has highjacked reiki, and turned it into utter dripple. A reiki master told me about absorbing negativity of the client, no wonder the medical people think often reiki is nonsense, and then she hugged me after the session.

Also, you don't see many western men because they are too focused on making more money, working 60 hr weeks to feed their consumption of big houses, multiple SUVs, and love of large amounts of red meat and beer. They spend their free time sitting in front of a computer or TV watching sports. It is the women who value most the importance of Spirituality and Spiritual healing, and empathy with other human beings.
@realphukka reiki is not called reiki in Japan, also you can see Jikiden reiki is founded by a Japanese guy, there are Japanese that practice reiki, but it has become popular with many Westerner's, and they have put new age stuff like chakra's in it, which actually come from Verdic tradition, not Chinese medicine.
@MrMatthew554 Sorry, but your wrong. Reiki is a japanese word. Tadao Yamaguchi teaches the "original" Reiki how it's practise in Japan. The "new age mumbo jumbo" Reiki came also from Japan - Hawaii - Amerika to Europe. So it is influenced by many cultures. It works as good by using this rituals or not.
@mag930 really I do not think chakra's was part of Dr Usui system, or psychic attacks, and reiki was taught in 6 stage's, in edition to that, Dr Usui wasn't a Christian as Christianity was illegal in Japan as Shinto was the national religion and Christianity was seen as a threat, after I think being introduced by Dutch trader's. Obsorbing someone's suffering would not empower them, not for their highest good, and might harm healer. Yes reiki is a Japanese word, the kanji is on some literature.
@mag930 yes maybe, because one reiki master started going on about Vortex healing, it seemed to be some of the master I been to have a lot of "issue's" themself about how things "should" be done, and need healing on this themselve's. As a healer a person should have had healing or feel whole themself, also I feel that there could be some legal regulation, as the UK reiki federation member is voluntary, and it leads people open to exploitation by untrained people, who don't know to help.

@realphukka Reiki is almost totally unheard of in Japan. You could ask 1000 Japanese people and be lucky if 1 person knows what it is. Yes, the name (霊気) comes from Japanese but most people wouldn't recognize the characters. If you look at the Japanese wikipedia page for Reiki, it is written in katakana as (レイキ) which is how Japanese people write foreign words.

I am a deeksha gier myself and find this interesting. what i think you will fins interesting is a product named Xphirience. It uses something called the Bliss code to give the listener all kinds of experiences that normally takes advanced meditation to acheive, but now everyone can have them. search for Xphirience on youtube and you'll find it.

Actually, the whole concept of `masters' and levels of ability is a Western concept - Usui did not refer to levels of mastery. This construct appears to be around the Western idea of making money from training people to different levels of competence.
chakras weren't brought into reiki until it was brought to the costal united states. Chakras are one of the influences the new age movement had on reiki.

Actually, the hara (Jp.) is slightly different than the Tanden (Jp.), which is slightly different than the Tan Tien (Ch.). The 3 Tan Tien (Ch) comes from yet another school of thought. Chakras are Indian / Vedic, not Japanese. Please keep what you are doing within its cultural context, if you really understand the systems that you are working with, the details make a huge difference. They cant be freely mixed because of these differences. New age chakras were added to western reiki in the 1980's

as an herbalist i have to use the "they belive" statement as well. It is a legal, politically correct thing that guards us from making statements and claims not approved by the government for which we could be fined or accused of practicing medicine. It speaks not to our own personal belief.
The way I see it, is that when you have first been attuned to Reiki, specific hand positions for the healing are helpful. Mainly intuition is the most important think in Reiki Healing and allowing your body to be a channel for the loving energy to come through.

When a preacher holds out his/her hands towards people and prays for healing to the congregation, it is like reiki. That loving warmth that you feel...it comes from God who works through people. An energy that we all have, we all are connected and are electrical.
Reiki attunement is just a regular healing session where the "student" attunes to the energies sent to him. The reiki symbols doesn't work, they're just crutches and make western people believe they have some secret way of opening up "secret energies". Reiki is too dogmatic and religious in it's approach. Also all attunements are the same, once you can feel qui you can help others feel qui.

Experience teaches us the world is flat, it took objective scientific thinking to realize it was round and find ways of going around it. People who claim to have gained knowledge based on subjective experience and 'direct knowing' use the same biased techniques that declared the world was flat.
leokareteka, I think you misunderstand my point, or misread it. Subjective experience has nothing to do with teasing out true knowledge from the universe. Properly controlled scientific studies show no positive effect of Reiki over common placebo.

If placebo works to make people well (as you maybe are referring Reiki to be), then it could very well be Placebo that makes people sick. Either way, if it (Reiki) works, don´t fix it ;) I never give any guarantee that Reiki will work on the client, as Reiki also requires cooperation (Placebo if you will ;)
Oh and one more thing... the hospitals I referred to are documenting the effects. I recieved a big brown envelope with different documented effects from Medeicine School Doctors and Nurses. This should qualify as "scientific evidence". ;) Anyways, we need to keep an open mind to it being possible. Scientific proof, in the form you demand it, will come.
I appreciate scientific intentions, but I find the level of control often sadly lacking compared to other established treatments. If there is something to the very detailed system of Reiki (which was born of a single persons say-so) then intuitively I would have expected the scientific evidence to be more forthcoming after such a long period of time.

There are hospitals all over the world bringing this form of healing into their treatments, including things like Hypnotizm and the like as well. It's been studied and it's been proven for a great few years now.

@mag930 yes, Japanese people can teach reiki in a clear way without all the new age mumbo jumbo, about psychic attacks, cords of attachment's and angel's. I feel the new age movement has highjacked reiki, and turned it into utter dripple. A reiki master told me about absorbing negativity of the client, no wonder the medical people think often reiki is nonsense, and then she hugged me after the session.

Also, you don't see many western men because they are too focused on making more money, working 60 hr weeks to feed their consumption of big houses, multiple SUVs, and love of large amounts of red meat and beer. They spend their free time sitting in front of a computer or TV watching sports. It is the women who value most the importance of Spirituality and Spiritual healing, and empathy with other human beings.

@realphukka reiki is not called reiki in Japan, also you can see Jikiden reiki is founded by a Japanese guy, there are Japanese that practice reiki, but it has become popular with many Westerner's, and they have put new age stuff like chakra's in it, which actually come from Verdic tradition, not Chinese medicine.

@MrMatthew554 Sorry, but your wrong. Reiki is a japanese word. Tadao Yamaguchi teaches the "original" Reiki how it's practise in Japan. The "new age mumbo jumbo" Reiki came also from Japan - Hawaii - Amerika to Europe. So it is influenced by many cultures. It works as good by using this rituals or not.
Maybe you mix it up with another healing system.

@mag930 really I do not think chakra's was part of Dr Usui system, or psychic attacks, and reiki was taught in 6 stage's, in edition to that, Dr Usui wasn't a Christian as Christianity was illegal in Japan as Shinto was the national religion and Christianity was seen as a threat, after I think being introduced by Dutch trader's. Obsorbing someone's suffering would not empower them, not for their highest good, and might harm healer. Yes reiki is a Japanese word, the kanji is on some literature.

@mag930 yes maybe, because one reiki master started going on about Vortex healing, it seemed to be some of the master I been to have a lot of "issue's" themself about how things "should" be done, and need healing on this themselve's. As a healer a person should have had healing or feel whole themself, also I feel that there could be some legal regulation, as the UK reiki federation member is voluntary, and it leads people open to exploitation by untrained people, who don't know to help.

@realphukka Of what I have experienced the more public one is with their gift ie Reiki or psychics (Sylvia Brown being the worst of them all followed by Miss Cleo) the more....they are.......Not as effective to put it gently? And before I get blasted, yes I believe in all this stuff so shut it. I would think the Japanese Masters are much more humble.

@realphukka Reiki is almost totally unheard of in Japan. You could ask 1000 Japanese people and be lucky if 1 person knows what it is. Yes, the name (霊気) comes from Japanese but most people wouldn't recognize the characters. If you look at the Japanese wikipedia page for Reiki, it is written in katakana as (レイキ) which is how Japanese people write foreign words.

you should watch my videos on the chakras and let me know what you think. using the power of reiki I have cured drug addiction, breast cancer, liver disease, semi-blindness to name a few of the big ones.
You can't just draw symbols or touch someone lovingly and expect that to do too much of anything.

I remember something like this when I was younger. Only you had to put your hands over your own eyes. Well, one person had to while the others hid. There was counting involved. I guess that's where the 6,5, 7 comes in. But I was young, and didn't know my shotras from my raiknees.

Actually, the whole concept of `masters' and levels of ability is a Western concept - Usui did not refer to levels of mastery. This construct appears to be around the Western idea of making money from training people to different levels of competence.

that is true,
chakras weren't brought into reiki until it was brought to the costal united states. Chakras are one of the influences the new age movement had on reiki.
Reiki originally worked with haras
theres the base hara (2nd chakra) the mid hara (the heart chakra) and the upper chakra (the third eye)

Actually, the hara (Jp.) is slightly different than the Tanden (Jp.), which is slightly different than the Tan Tien (Ch.). The 3 Tan Tien (Ch) comes from yet another school of thought. Chakras are Indian / Vedic, not Japanese. Please keep what you are doing within its cultural context, if you really understand the systems that you are working with, the details make a huge difference. They cant be freely mixed because of these differences. New age chakras were added to western reiki in the 1980's

ya, that last thing where i said upper chakra was sposed to be upper hara. oops typo lol. and i'm not familiar with the tanden and i've heard very little about the tan tien, but I was just restating what I learned from Bronwen and franz stiene with the 'originally worked with chakras' statement. and I do know that chakras are vedic, i just got finger-tied at the end haha

The way I see it, is that when you have first been attuned to Reiki, specific hand positions for the healing are helpful. Mainly intuition is the most important think in Reiki Healing and allowing your body to be a channel for the loving energy to come through.

Reiki attunement is just a regular healing session where the "student" attunes to the energies sent to him. The reiki symbols doesn't work, they're just crutches and make western people believe they have some secret way of opening up "secret energies". Reiki is too dogmatic and religious in it's approach. Also all attunements are the same, once you can feel qui you can help others feel qui.

Reiki is no longer a thing to believe in for me, but a direct experiencing and knowing. That´s why I am not interested in "converting" anyone. It´s like the earth is round, and U know ´cause you´ve been around it. So to listen to some that hardly has been outside their home saying it is flat, is very amusing.

Experience teaches us the world is flat, it took objective scientific thinking to realize it was round and find ways of going around it. People who claim to have gained knowledge based on subjective experience and 'direct knowing' use the same biased techniques that declared the world was flat.

leokareteka, I think you misunderstand my point, or misread it. Subjective experience has nothing to do with teasing out true knowledge from the universe. Properly controlled scientific studies show no positive effect of Reiki over common placebo.

Oh sorry. I was in a bit of a hurry, so yes, I must have misread it. Well, I really think you are talking about something very interesting. The Placebo Effect... If placebo works to make people well (as you maybe are referring Reiki to be), then it could very well be Placebo that makes people sick. Either way, if it (Reiki) works, don´t fix it ;) I never give any guarantee that Reiki will work on the client, as Reiki also requires cooperation (Placebo if you will ;)

Oh and one more thing... the hospitals I referred to are documenting the effects. I recieved a big brown envelope with different documented effects from Medeicine School Doctors and Nurses. This should qualify as "scientific evidence". ;) Anyways, we need to keep an open mind to it being possible. Scientific proof, in the form you demand it, will come.

I appreciate scientific intentions, but I find the level of control often sadly lacking compared to other established treatments. If there is something to the very detailed system of Reiki (which was born of a single persons say-so) then intuitively I would have expected the scientific evidence to be more forthcoming after such a long period of time.

There are hospitals all over the world bringing this form of healing into their treatments, including things like Hypnotizm and the like as well. It's been studied and it's been proven for a great few years now.

Actually no. Though Reiki and similar 'alternative' therapies can gain popularity, because patients benefit from the one-on-one time and placebo effect, these therapies have *never* been proven effective outside placebo. If you have links showing otherwise please post.
