  • 124MPH!!!!

  • @guy990 LOL

It doesn't really count though, as it was after a WOT vertical dive :)

  • @sheldonholy Still that plane kept intact especially considering the weight! Crazy!

  • @guy990 It's pretty hard to break a flying wing in flight.

The control surfaces would blow off before the actual wing breaks

  • what osd do you use ?

  • @TeenFlyer95 An ImmersionRC EzOSD

  • wow, 125MPH? with what airplane?

  • @horizonflyer9 A Flyingwings Storm. Nothing special. Mind you, most things will go 120mph after a 600ft WOT vertical dive!

  • @sheldonholy True, true, very true :) I don't recommend it for all airplanes though

  • @horizonflyer9 Quite. 125mph with a Slowstick could be rather 'interesting' :)

  • @sheldonholy If you mean interesting as in the tail surfaces fluttering so much that the whole plane shatters into 15 pieces, then I agree ;)

  • @horizonflyer9 And if that doesn't happen then in the subsequent hard pull up the wings fold up, so the fuselage becomes a 120mph lawn dart, creating a spectacular display of balsa flying up in the air.

  • @sheldonholy I hear its even more spectacular if the throttle servo locks up at WOT at the same time :)

  • @horizonflyer9 I have seen that. Some guy was flying a Flair Kite, he squealed and we looked up to see one wing fluttering down and the other wing and fuse at WOT going straight down.... Crashed behind some 20ft trees and we saw balsa flying up higher than the trees!

The back of the firewall was 1/2" underground... Forget the spinner :0

  • @sheldonholy I've seen similar, a guy at my club was flying a Hangar 9 Pulse .60, the plane was doing a wide turn near full throttle when we think the receiver battery unplugged, right as it was aiming towards the pits. The thing went full throttle over the pits, sheared a wing off on the fence and continued like a dart just in between 2 cars at 70MPH. It was found about a hundred yards in the woods splattered all over the ground :) Man you've never seen me duck for cover so fast!

  • @horizonflyer9 :O

That must have been an interesting spectacle! I have had a couple crashes due to glitches, it's quite frustrating as the plane is spazing around up there and you have no idea where it'll go. Oh well, the crash is normally pretty spectacular :)
