We do not learn anything from making cats glow in the dark, we DO find things when looking under a microscope. My cat is black and is 100% invisible in the dark and sometimes he likes to cuddle up against my leggs for no real reason.

@temari190 This is not medical research it's arrogant scientists mixing different DNA for fun to see what they can make, it's like a child playing with play dough. It's a waste of time and money which I'm sure tax payers fund, scientists have been doing things like this for a long time now. Gene splicing animals and humans and all kinds of mixed abominations, it's wrong.
This is only a glimpse of things to come and people should be scared and outraged by such a thing.

@temari190 They dont. They would put them under if it was going to hurt, and then when they wake up, they wont even know what happened. All they do is alter cells to glow. It's not toxic, but I do assume that the surgury would be painful without painkillers. Animal Rights ensures that. Hopefully.

Don't be so naive. They are doing this experiment to HELP people with incurable diseases. They are glow in the dark proteins that are used as markers. Cat's DNA is similar to humans so they are testing it on cat's first before they test on humans.
