I live in Serbia. My father used to have a Lada. The car is very well built. It clocked 163 000 km, without any serious malfunction. Only some minor stuff with the exhaust and the electrics.The consumption is average for a 1200 cc car. Nothing fancy on it. A true workhorse which will never let you down.

@dmelkumo Yes, they can be registered. They have a title just like any other car and have basic safety standards such as 4-wheel brakes, blinkers, seatbelts, headlights, brake lights, etc. Some states require strict smog testing like California, but this can be remedied by installing a simple catalytic converter.
