But his english voice sounds like a 27 year old douchebag, which is

kind of what he is.

Pandy's voice is definately better in japanese though. She sounds a

bit more badass in this, where as the english one she sounds bored.

The American dub of this movie is surprisingly impressive! I watched it, and I love Retro's ragged and enthusiastic voice. And he has one of his MANY great lines right after this scene.

Check Hiroyuki Imaishi (the director)`s profile, most of his stuff is similar and uses his very unique animation style. Gurren Lagann is his first role as a series director so go for that one first, also watch his Oval X Over short which is available here on Youtube.

Dead Leaves is awesome to the max. Absolutely recommended. With Gainax, Imaishi was the animation director for FLCL, also, he directed that wonderful masterpiece that is Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann.
