@Slayerof100 lol, no he's not.....he made a living in the Philippines by singing in the band called The Zoo, they released a album in 2007 with 12 original tracks and one cover song. When they played live, they played alot of cover songs, like many unfamous band do. It just happend so that Neal Schon saw him on youtube singing a journey cover,then he sent an e-mail to Pineda inviting him to audition for Journey. That's why he's in the band...and Journey dont play cover songs, do they??

Actually Arnel's version lacks the high notes that Perry's does. Don't get me wrong. Arnel is very good. Arnel may be the best that the new Journey has found so far.
Unfortunately for Arnel, Perry may very well be the greatest rock n roll vocalist of all time. He had the range, power, phrasing, everything. Noone has been able to match him yet. Not even Arnel.

Arnel is really amazing, and really cool story behind how Journey found him. One critique though is he needs to learn how to stop saying "come on" all the time...he says it about 20 times during any rocking song they play...gets annoying after a while.
Anyway, great stuff, and great job overall!

what kills me is the performance of AP, just is having a great time, hitting 96% of the notes, looks comfortable, the rest of the band look like they love him.....AND its his first live show with these legends!! Could you imagine the butterflies before the show...He deserves credit, and I will now buy the album. Many people are leaving comments about AP in regards to replacing Steve, there is no replacing Steve, Im sure Arnel is as huge of a fan of Steves as we are and this is a new era. Go AP!

i love APs voice. it's surely sounds like... well i wish he evolves better than and beyond steve p. in time, yes in time. let him hone himself to full maturity. he's got edge with his high, raspy & soulful voice at par with other rock singers like chris robinson's of black crowes (also one of my few fave rock voices aside perry and eddie vedder).

I'm a Filipino, I'm a HUGE PERRY fan since i was 9 and I still believe Perry is better but Pineda is undeniably Very Good! He certainly made a run for Perry's money and the way Journey is right now, I believe Pineda is doing them the favor and not the other way around!

Talagang pinipilit lang talaga ng iba na hindi makita ang totoo....haaaay, hindi ko lang to masabi kaagad kasi ang dami namang loca loca na fans yung isa (fan din ako sa totoo pero thankfully may utak pa ako). In this particular song, IN MY OPINION, Arnel's version is better, but if you're talking about the whole Journey catalog, then that's another story.

Actually Arnel's version lacks the high notes that Perry's does. Don't get me wrong. Arnel is very good. Arnel may be the best that the new Journey has found so far.
Unfortunately for Arnel, Perry may very well be the greatest rock n roll vocalist of all time. He had the range, power, phrasing, everything. Noone has been able to match him yet. Not even Arnel.
