Your right that Ottawa hasn't had a cup in 80 years since the original Ottawa Senators left the city back in 1934. 58 years later we got back into the NHL (1992) so we've had 20 years to try and get a cup again. If your counting Ottawa's Cup drought from 1927 to 2012 then your assuming both franchises are the same thus we have 11 Cups.
Otherwise the drought is 20 years because the modern day Senators are not the same club that got sold to St.Louis in the 30's.

Your right that Ottawa hasn't had a cup in 80 years since the original Ottawa Senators left the city back in 1934. 58 years later we got back into the NHL (1992) so we've had 20 years to try and get a cup again. If your counting Ottawa's Cup drought from 1927 to 2012 then your assuming both franchises are the same thus we have 11 Cups.
Otherwise the drought is 20 years because the modern day Senators are not the same club that got sold to St.Louis in the 30's.

@ffryan They were sold in 1934 during the Great Depression. Atlanta and Phoenix have teams while places like Quebec and Winnipeg don't. Are you telling me Ottawa, Winnipeg, and Quebec showed less support for NHL franchises than those American cities?
It's not easy to get an NHL team. Interest in any decent size Canadian city is never the problem. It's usually the business side of things that determine the outcome.
