Sound is crappy, too bad. Quite possibly one of the best albums of the nineties. Tim DeLaughter is a true musical genius, period. Listen to Jesus Hits Like the Atom Bomb it's the best.
its a shame that this band never made it big it seems like some of the greatest bands were cursed like this one and the vapors ya know turning japanese
i've been a tripping daisy fan since back in the day, and i'm totally into the polyphonic spree. just because you don't get the music doesn't mean it sucks, it just means you don't get it. and what fucking band do you play in ghist420? stop hatin
i didnt hear this song until yesturday. tripping daisy rocks this, brown eyed pickle boy, and sigmund and the seamonsters are the best songs by them. so stuff it ghist420
so ur saying...polyphonic spree? was something worth mention? ,......that makes me laugh..... OKAY!...you can think whatever you want about ur failure band.
The only reason they "failed" is because Wes, the guitarist, died. Their music was and is amazing. They are incredibly creative and talented musicians.
Not true. They never failed, they outgrew the potential of what Tripping Daisy could possibly be. The Polyphonic Spree was inevitable, with or without the passing of Wes. Yes, 10 years later I still miss him, I hug my bear named after him and wish that he could still be here, but he is fondly remembered and his contributions will always be cherished.
i never meant that they failed, because i agree with you completely. I love their music, both tripping daisy and the polyphonic spree. I love them so much that my son has listened to them almost daily since I was 3 months pregnant with him. (my husband and I were actually contemplating naming our next son Wes)
bought this album having never heard of tehm before ans was pleasntly surprised...blasted it out all summer long! hearing it again brings back great memories. don't get the vid though~
Man i used to wear this album out...had no idea there was a video for this song. Don't think i was watching much TV in '94 anyway, i was 20 and lovin' the nose candy back then.
Seen them live in Winnipeg Canada way back when and they were great...brings back some foggy memories...I might have been lovin' the nose candy back then too.Peace :)
One of the things that made this band interesting is that in a time when music was markedly negative and dark in theme and sound. Their songs were actually positive and uplifting, but not in a cheesy way.
Well, alot of times theres music videos that have nothing to do with the lyrics. Watch some Depeche Mode songs... those videos are weird! Either way, this was a great video ^_^
LEad Singer hair looks the best in "I Got A Girl", When his hair is long and brown, blue and this longer blonde he looks strange...He was Hot In "I got a girl" xD
This is one of my favorite tracks of this disc. Great song w/great advice. Tim looks so different in the "MTV ready" videos! I found an autographed copy of "Bill" in a used disc store a few years ago. It's a great collectible.
Tim Delaughter is awesome! I'm from Dallas and so is the band. Yet I've only seen them once at Trees back in 1995 (RIP Trees. I'm still a fan of Tim's current group The Polyphonic Spree.
my friend marie went out with the drummer for like 2 years when they were touring for elastic firecracker it was wierd to find this out cause i met her in 2000 and was a fan of the band still so to imagine this girl i lived with was on tour with them at some point was a trip she got a chance to sing on tour with the polyphonic spree but it did'nt work out
Piranahs is one of my all time favorite Tripping Daisy songs!! (along with Lost and Found and Your Socks Have No Name and well all the others...) Thanks for posting the videooooo!
I've met Tim DeLaughter a few times too (only since The Polyphonic Spree started touring though)- he is soooo down to earth and sweet, so is Julie. Knowing how awesome they are in person makes me love the music even more! *yay*

Yeppers. That's Tom's other new band. The bassist for Tripping Daisy died, sadly.

I think you mean Tim, not Tom. And it was the lead guitar player (Wes) that died, not the bassist. Regardless, what a loss...
