I paid my zep dues when most of you little ass punks were nothing but a mere cum drop. had every album, poster, t-shirt, memorabilia you could think of and I'll even sell it to ya'll if you want the shit. is it alright for me to say that I am burnt out on zep? i use to love when a local radio station here in dallas would do zep, a to z but now that would be a cruel and unusual punishment. i don't bow down to them no longer and you can kiss my ass, too.
3 people must have fallen down and hit their heads, that's the only excuse i can think of, or they are mentally challenged. by the way, the fun really begins at 5:01. oh yea, that's the good stuff.
if you likeed this then nit's quite possible that you maybe ready to step up and and listen to diamond dust by jeff beck. that's just one of many but anything with him and max middleton and you really can't go wrong. afterall, zeppelin is a rip off of the original jeff beck group. jeff jammed just as hard, back in the day. he did things his own way but whatever it takes, to make it to the R. H. F baby. Jeff was never second, to page NEVER!!!
@chev202 LMAO DUDE REALLY?? I like Beck also, but calling Led Zep a rip off of the yardbirds is just a fan boy statement. If you believe this so much dont forget ALL these bands owe a lot (PARTICULARLY JEFF BECK LOL) to people like Bo Diddley, Muddy Waters, Sonny Boy Williamson II, Elmore James, John Lee Hooker, and Howlin Wolf. So The Yardbirds are rip offs too then I guess. They are ALL second to these artists. Learn about music before you embarrass yourself again. THAT IS ALL. -_-
@PRod7544 And if you wanna get even further into it, another Zeppelin influence, Robert Johnson, took a song called Kokomo Blues from a white guy named Scrapper Blackwell and based his song Sweet Home Chicago around it. There's truly nothing new under the sun, and to say that someone stole a blues chord progression is exactly the same as saying that they stole a G chord.
@UMAMIMAMU Yea that was what I was trying to get through. Wow never knew this, btw thx! Awesome, just finished listening to Kokomo Blues! Sweet tune! I actually like it better than Sweet Home Chicago. Singer songwiter Jake Holmes also originally wrote Dazed and Confused (I do love both versions too). Goes to show how everybody was influenced by someone! Now if only we can find out who played the first G chord! lol. Thanks for the input! :D
@PRod7544 Is the -_- your guru face? Hahaha, I agree with you though and commend you on your command of the english language, on a site that many people seem to forget grammar. I feel like this comment also isn't complete without a "Go Zeppelin" thrown in here, but it was really only meant to respond to you.
@PRod7544 It's not like Led Zeppelin never ripped anyone off though. Check out "Taurus" by the band Spirit and tell me that Stairway isn't a rip off of that intro.
@srvgravesdime And the intro to Wake Up by RATM is Kashmir - straight up, so what's your point? If 5 notes is considered a "rip-off" then every songwriter on the planet is guilty and without writers using other stuff to build on all we would have is about 12 songs to listen to. And Taurus is utter crap, while STH is a masterpiece.
@MagickZoso I'm sure Rage acknowledges it though. The shitty part is that Zeppelin (or rather Page), just won't admit it. The intro to Stairway is a 100% reproduction of Taurus, not just "5 notes". Zeppelin made millions. Basically just stole the money. Ripping off a part from The Sky is Crying isn't hard, even if you've never heard the song. Ripping off the intro to Taurus? That isn't just a coincidence. That's like "making up" the whole intro to Little Wing on your own. Not an accident
@PRod7544 dont ever forget about lead belly...gallows pole, black betty, house of the rising sun...that is not all there is alot and you should thank the lord everday that you have ear's capable of hearing such great music in stend of critisizen people who otherwise lack the knowledge of knowning greatness
@chev202 thats such bullshit and diamond dust came out two years after no quarter.. you are just a zeppelin hater mad about their success and DOMINANCE of rock n'roll of the 1970's and in general.. jeff beck has no feel he can play guitar but pagey had a feel to his music that jeff could never understand or try to replicate.. and chev go kill yourself now you jealous bastard
@Gettheledoutstyle Okay, I agree that Zep> Beck, but to say he has no feel is borderline blaspheme. I saw the guy live and he can really play, and he means it. I understand where you're coming from but you really should consider Becks musical prowess
@YoshiAddict agreed , i shouldnt have said "no" feel, you are correct.. what i have heard of beck i have liked but my point was page is far superior and it bothers me when people try to say page was a lesser player overall.. beck was cleaner but page had intangibles that are rare playing guitar.. had soul with the guitar.. hisplaying along with zeppelin in general gives me goosebumps often and therefore is my favorite all time guitarist and band
I respect Zep so much. After one member passed, Plant sad the band was dead, so true. Never would be the same...Zep you live in our dreams and memories...Don't tarnish your image for the all mighty dollar!!!
John Bohnam has absolutely no mercy.. He just kills it.. No Quarter was the very first Zep song I ever heard.. My dad had it blastin with his blacklight blaring with the whole joint smellin like inscense.. I'm 32yrs old and have such a respect for these classic bands. This music taught me how to open my mind to ALL MUSIC but generally music with good drums.. I turned my 13 yr old daughter on to this classic shit in which she spreads the love on to her friends that are impressively receptive 2 it
What the fuck, Robert Plant - your paranoia ruined Jimmy Page's best solo ever! "The Song Remains the Same" should had been released without Plant's anti-improvisation tinkering. Blasphemy!
@BeyondNeptune Sooooo?? It's really tempting ;) I can't help it when my estrogen and hormones are raging lol. I just think they are both SOOOOO hot!! Too bad there aren't too many men nowadays that look like them lols.
you know what's funny? This song was performed way back in 1973 and Jimmy Page plays so progressive here it's not even funny! Seriously, his creativeness and soloing ability just blows ANYTHING greg howe has ever done RIGHT OUT OF THE WATER! I mean, DAMN! He's combining progressive jazz with rock here!
@GuitarRoast I agree the off beat phrasing and harmonic atmosphere he builds with his melodic ideas is progressive. SRTS was Zep at their finest. You can hear alot of Bon and Page playing off of one another like a fusion band in a bad ass rock setting. The original soundtrack had a few more bars of the solo.
I love this song. I enjoy the video very much. Can anyone tell me about it. Was this Jones's home? Who were the people bowing to him and why? As much info as possible would be greatly appreciated.
