@MartinJWillett They don't, but the idea that Mary was also born of a virgin is a misconception stemming from the doctrine of Immaculate Conception. The doctrine states that Mary herself was preserved from original sin, that she was born without a sin nature, and that she lived a sinless life. It doesn't say anything about her own birth though.

I know some of them believe Mary was for ever a virgin despite having several children and I know of the doctrine of the immaculate conception (of Mary) but was that birth also of a virgin? The immaculate conception (of Mary, being born without original sin) and her assumption into heaven (if she was born without sin she could not die as the wages of sin is death, as she's not around she must have gone to heaven) is all Catholic fabrication and officially true.
