Officially and generally the Saxo is a bit lighter than the 106, but both cars got different weights depending on the year of construction and equipment. But mainly the production variance and the condition of the engine matters, if the car will be a bit quicker or not! What to do by yourself? So the answer is, doing always good service to the car/engine and the drive it carfully when its cold until it becomes temperature.

@AZ274 Gearing, the VTS has a slightly longer second gear which means it dosen't have to make a shift into third to get 60, whearas the 106 cant quite match the 0-60 time of the VTS but is a little nicer to drive IRL than the VTS. Both great cars though.

common guys, enough of all these arguments.. the vts is indeed a quick car, no doubt, but not a RACE car definitely.. the torque band is mostly concentrated on 0-60 ish zone.. above 100, cars with similar or higher HP would pull away slowly on a straight road. What more would u wanna prove.

Nevertheless, this car is still quick on twisting & winding road, thx to its chassis and concentrated torque band engine.. I wouldn't be surprise if it could keep up or beat a Porsche on tight-twisting road.

I've recently sold my Saxo VTS, now I will admit that they are quick from 0-60 (I have beaten my mates brand new Honda Civic Turboo Diesel sport in a straight line up to 60) but anything after that for like say, motorway driving they are rubbish.

It's closer to 8s than 7, and then they slowly start to run out of guts. They are a good track car base I will hand you that - I plan on building a track car using a VTS... but not a road car. I have also never known a 17 year old get a VTS, as a typical insurance quote would be around £5k and most insurers would down-right refuse in the first place.

They are "quick" but they aren't "fast" cars, I've heard too many Saxo drivers claim to beat Porsches and Ferraris etc.

Basically, the NAV detects your signal and calculates how long it takes you to go over a certain strech of road (just a few meters) and calculates based on that. It is accurate unless a computer can't do basic math...

what kind off mods you have on your saxo? 5.8 sec to 60 is not even normal. stock it does it in 7.8 sec and your rpm goes to 8000 and fast.

But i dont think its a turbo-powert one. you have much more wheel spin in the first 2 gears with a turbo.

i got a 106 gti with mods. but max. i pull out 6.6 sec to 60.
