Thanks for the great comments and dont forget to rate the vid as well please ;)
At the moment I am looking into some new equipment to use for more vids, the one above was done on my own personal Cam corder (not water proof!!!) and was my own risk winch.
I am looking into a water proof camera at present and hope to post more soon.
I was a crew on another independent LB (GAFIRS)on the mainland back in the late '80s and early 90's when coastguard SAR took over from the Royal Navy.
Loved playing with the helicopters, made up for the long cold, middle of the night shouts.
Keep up the great work, and I always remind people that not all lifeboats are rnli... and that in my experience independent LB do more jobs than them...
No haven't been a member of Gafirs for years now. Moved to a different part of the country. Sometimes pop in to say hello if I'm in the area, but tend not to recognise many people anymore. Miss the place still... 17 years later.
Whisky Bravo is indeed in the Solent area at present, WB is normaly based at Portland, but not sure why she is in our area, but she is more than welcome :)
this is one of the best boaty videos iv seen and ill buy your dvd. steve of london . PS im the rescue boat man you met on the thames . your the dj man. again excelent
IJ in the video is a S-61N mk2 and has or will be replaced by a AgustaWestland AW139 based at lee on solent and at portland, OC used to be a S-61N mk2 as well but was replaced with a S-92, 2 at stornoway and 2 at shetland, due to a different company having the contract to supply the heli's. (used to be bristow helicopters but now chc helicopters)
lol! yh we are!! we had our A85 out in a force 8 during a MANCHEX with th RAF and various over local lifeboats and HMCG. yes, shes great! she can pretty much turn on th spot....nd those engines!!! :o

Wow. Well done. The video production does justice to the talent and skill of the members of the RNLI and HM Coastguard.

LegateSTOKESie 4 years ago
Hi LegateSTOKESie,
We have had the A-21 for about 6 years now and are looking at a replacement over the next year with another A-21.
I helped build your stations A-85, as I work at the ILC in Cowes :) Hope she is doing a good job and the crew are looking after her ;)
Spike1977UK 4 years ago
Nice vid. Whish our Lifeguardstation would have ILB like the Atlantic 75....
thecrowcsplayer 5 years ago
Thanks for the comment, we use the Atlantic 21 and we are a Independent Inshore lifeboat - non RNLI.
Spike1977UK 5 years ago
Ye, noticed when I went on your site ;)
Well we aint RNLI either, cus I live in germany, so its the DLRG...
Atlantic 75 or 21 would both be a dream to have. specially since we patroll rivers and sea's, so we would reach some great speed :)
How mouch does the 21 cost? (with and without equipment?)
