  • thants awesome! iv done scuba diving but never that it looks great 5/5

  • Is that RIB Atlantic?

  • It is an Atlantic 21

  • I think we have that one over here in Oulu... We are using that also for SAR...

  • Thanks for the great comments and dont forget to rate the vid as well please ;)

At the moment I am looking into some new equipment to use for more vids, the one above was done on my own personal Cam corder (not water proof!!!) and was my own risk winch.

I am looking into a water proof camera at present and hope to post more soon.

    Add us as your Channel.

  • That is corret, it is an Atlantic 21 ex RNLI and is in service with SSILB.

  • Great vid really like it get some more vids if you can because thats one was really good!:)

  • Brings back memories... thank you

I was a crew on another independent LB (GAFIRS)on the mainland back in the late '80s and early 90's when coastguard SAR took over from the Royal Navy.

Loved playing with the helicopters, made up for the long cold, middle of the night shouts.

Keep up the great work, and I always remind people that not all lifeboats are rnli... and that in my experience independent LB do more jobs than them...

    Enjoy and stay safe!

  • hay do you still go to gafirs if so check out my new promo its on my profile

    yours jon

  • No haven't been a member of Gafirs for years now. Moved to a different part of the country. Sometimes pop in to say hello if I'm in the area, but tend not to recognise many people anymore. Miss the place still... 17 years later.

  • Ij lands in the park in my back garden in poole taking people to poole general

Check out my rnli vid ;)

    Hurray for the rnli ;)

  • Just remember we are an inderpendent lifeboat service and not all lifeboats are run by the RNLI ;)

  • You should put the unedited footage up at some point!! Great video :D Amazing all of the work that happens

  • Has the CG swapped all of the helis about? As I noticed the other day when I was over that the heli had WB on it. Tis very confusing

Brillaint video though. Rather you than me being winched in mind you!

  • Whisky Bravo is indeed in the Solent area at present, WB is normaly based at Portland, but not sure why she is in our area, but she is more than welcome :)

  • this is one of the best boaty videos iv seen and ill buy your dvd. steve of london . PS im the rescue boat man you met on the thames . your the dj man. again excelent

  • Hi lifeshoat, nope I am not the DJ guy you met on the thames, that is one of my friends and a crew member as well ;)

Go to our website and e-mail the webmaster and I will place you on our pre-order sheet.

  • Wow. Well done. The video production does justice to the talent and skill of the members of the RNLI and HM Coastguard.

  • (12of12)

    you forgot = & Independent lifeboats ;)

  • Fantastic Video, Credit to you guys in the job you do, keep up the good work.

  • Nice vid. "Coastgaurd IJ" is the bizz!

    "Right one..Steady..steady..winching in".

  • You have been watching sea side rescue to much! ;)

  • Lets just say i know the crack! is that a roger?

  • i think oscar charlie could give india juliet a run for its money!

  • no IJ rules over evrything but the new IJ or G-CGIJ rather than G-BDIJ is bay far a better aircraft but it will never beat the true IJ

  • i think the same goes for the old and new oscar charlie

  • well there the same aircraft arnt they

  • no, the old one was a sikorsky s61n and the new one is a sikorsky s92

  • no the new IJ and the new OC are the same aircraft

  • IJ in the video is a S-61N mk2 and has or will be replaced by a AgustaWestland AW139 based at lee on solent and at portland, OC used to be a S-61N mk2 as well but was replaced with a S-92, 2 at stornoway and 2 at shetland, due to a different company having the contract to supply the heli's. (used to be bristow helicopters but now chc helicopters)

  • lol! yh we are!! we had our A85 out in a force 8 during a MANCHEX with th RAF and various over local lifeboats and HMCG. yes, shes great! she can pretty much turn on th spot....nd those engines!!! :o

  • great vid!!! im with the RNLI at walmer and we just got an Atlantic 85...they're great arnt they!! lol! hw long hav u had ur Alantic 21?

  • Hi LegateSTOKESie,

We have had the A-21 for about 6 years now and are looking at a replacement over the next year with another A-21.

I helped build your stations A-85, as I work at the ILC in Cowes :) Hope she is doing a good job and the crew are looking after her ;)

  • Nice vid. Whish our Lifeguardstation would have ILB like the Atlantic 75....

  • Thanks for the comment, we use the Atlantic 21 and we are a Independent Inshore lifeboat - non RNLI.

  • Ye, noticed when I went on your site ;)

Well we aint RNLI either, cus I live in germany, so its the DLRG...

Atlantic 75 or 21 would both be a dream to have. specially since we patroll rivers and sea's, so we would reach some great speed :)

How mouch does the 21 cost? (with and without equipment?)

  • Sent message to you direct.

  • that... is... cool...!

  • Cheers for the comment, please feel free to leave comments on our vid's and let us know what you think.

Don't forget to rate us as well ;)

    The crew of SSILB.
