  • 700 dollars damn dude i got a dent on mine too got it fix for 130 dude they rip you off dude

  • @shadowninja757. where was that? apple store?

  • u can get 13" apple care for 150 at bh video. it pays for itself, esp when the charger for me died alot. Chargers are worth $80 right there.

  • Ok. Yea I tried the suction cup on my baby dent, and nothing! Uggghhh... hate it! lol

  • Could you use a suction cup?

  • @MuahCosmetics I tried, but it didn't work.....The only way is to get a new back cover, which requires the removal of the glass and the lcd.

  • @sirmasterpimp The back is aluminium right? Search for the compressed air dent removal trick.

  • use a plunger

  • Not an exageration at all. Aluminium is fucking expensive.

  • haha i luv this cuz one of the "benefits" of buying a macbook pro is suppose to be the aluminum case. I tell ppl why would I buy a computer that can be dented? a regular plastic case would easily repel that kind of impact... the real diss tho is how apple treats u for investing in their "superior premium technology"

i luv apple products but they should seriously be half the price...

  • 13.3" LCD screen costs no more than £80.

If this is an LED backlit screen then the board is on the bottom of the screen, away from the dint so is not your fault.

If it is not a LED backlit screen then it is your fault.

  • You don't carry a Mac around in your hands with no protection .. You get a case lol. And when you replace a Mac screen .. You pretty much replace the 'whole' screen :L Not just the top part.

  • Should've got an Asus, they have accidental damage warrenty for 1 year with ALL laptops, no extra charge

  • This is why Aluminium is a dumb fucking idea! It bends permanently

  • ohh hell no! im not getting a fucking mac!

  • Comment removed

  • In a Spain's Apple Store asked me 700 € to repair, a similiar price that they told you.

I really think it doesn't worth it, it's a loooooot of money, save it for the next Mac (it's what I'm going to do).

  • @ola1ola1 why would you buy another mac

  • It just had happened to me a few months ago. My MacBook Pro unibody 15" (May '09 2,66 Intel Core 2 Duo, 6 MB L2 cache,...). A heavy aluminium lamp fell over my MBP and it was just dented in the case of the screen. I had felt really sad because the MBP was just four months old, but now I'm used to see it dented all days, and I pride in the resistance of the MBP. However, every time I rembember when the lamp fell... =@

  • two words: dent doctor.

  • $700

its the correct Apple price... Thats the way it goes! HAHA

  • $700?! Holy CRAP! O.O

  • I got a dent on my PowerBook G4 and the warranty is LONG gone, but I brought it into the Apple store for another problem last year, and they took it, fixed it and returned it. No questions asked about the dent.

  • it's an oled screen that's why id so expensive ha

  • It's not an organic led screen. It is a led back lit lcd. Only the lighting element is different from a normal lcd screen. In an oled screen, the pixels themselves are multicolor led's, while this screen has a lcd with white led's behind it for back lighting.

  • its hardly apple's fault to decline repair for free if you drop an apple product, or any product for that matter. the macbook is just a poor design which is expensive to repair...but design is the very reason people buy those things. for this reason, apple will always be an exclusive brand living on overpriced underperforming hardware.

  • apple care is shit i bought a brand new 2.4 macbook pro and it had scratches from the factory and they accused me of scratching it why would i scratch a $2000 computer that i just bought? i argued to no end and they finally replaced it so i give them that you just have to push them but if the damage is your fault hang it up they won't help without some $

  • let me rephrase that a lot of $

  • @yowu7446 People drop their iphones and ipods all the time and they get it replaced under the one year warranty, and I own a macbook pro and it is way better then any pc I have used.

  • they were messing with u and here's why: if the screen REALLY, not what Apple says, REALLY would cost $700 they would never decrease the price couz then they would be giving you screen on a half price and clearly, Apple never do that. I'm was a fan boy, until at OneToOne session, my trainer "accidentally" dropped my MacBookPro on the floor, and glass shattered (the glass is still on, but day after day, little pieces fall out), now they said that because it was my fault I have to pay £350 ($577)

  • And one more thing: I HAVE APPLE CARE PROTECTION PLAN FOR MY MACBOOK PRO AND THEY STILL ASK ME MONEY, ALL £350...I HATE THOSE MOTHER FUCKERS, IF YOU WANT IT TO BE IN PERFECT CONDITION, WHICH IT WONT COUZ I HAD IT ONLY 5 MOTHS AND IT ALREADY IS SOOO SLOW, I HAVE TO WAIT A MINUTE BEFORE GARAGE BAND OR IMOVIE OPENS,YOU HAVE TO SAVE IT AS YOUR NEW BORN BABY:DON'T PUSH A BUTTON TO FIRM,DON'T USE IT IN WET CONDITIONS,DON'T DO THAT, DON'T DO THAT...DON'T GIVE ME A SHIT

  • i just dropped mine from the bed and its annoying when i try to close my comp screen its annoying. mac is a retard. im a retard too =_=" but i fell asleep. meh :(

    fuck man..

  • You know that Macs dont have the crappy cheap TN-panels in the Displays? The Displays use IPS with is alot more pricy and better

  • Dude,

The Apple store are just ebing racist scum and are having fun with you.

Any douche bag knows you DON'T HAVE to fix that dent to address the other issues. It's just nonsense. They know if you do you automaticaly void the warranty.

They are giggling in the background at your expense.

You should have taken it to another store and hope it isn't filled with Con artist racist malicious 'Genius'.

    They will burn in hell.

  • yikes.

  • Macbook unibody = win, Apple customer service = FAIL, HP Laptop for $700 = you can have it.

  • damn, apple asks for 700 bucks for every thing! I asked for a screen replacement on my ibook, 700 bucks! Like fuck, I could go on ebay and get a whole new computer for that much!

  • screw aple take it to some private dealer

  • I fix laptops so I can fix it myself, just the cost of the parts to do so is ridiculous (can't just buy a outer shell, must also buy the screen as one part). I have found information on how to remove the screen with suction cups and hammer the dent out, but have just decided that its not worth the trouble for a barely noticeable dent. Great laptop otherwise!

  • Why don't you just get the case off if you don't care about the warranty, and gently try to do it yourself with a little hammer, just hit it and it will be just new. That's how Russia does it but it should work... P.S. I am not Russian.

  • yey russia ftw im from russia and yeah i fixed my det on my laptop :)P

  • here's an idea, say your apple mac dies or is damaged you could buy apple care when it has been damaged, or do you have to buy it with the mac?

  • You can buy the warranty up to 90 days after the initial purchase date. I had thought of that, but was just outside of the 90 day window when the accident happened. I'm not worried about it, now I can distinguish my Macbook from others lol.

  • Well being a new MAC adopter and having made to very recent purchases I can say with 100% certainty that you can purchase applecare anytime as long as the 1 year warranty has NOT expired.

Just a tidbit for you all to chew on

    1

  • @MACINSTEIN67 Yeah, but they already knew about the dent and didn't allow me to buy it even though I was within 1 year. I'm not sure if you bring your mac into an apple store that they will always inspect it....Sometimes I guess they let some by. A friend of mine had a similar problem, where they wouldn't give him a warranty because his was extremely scratched up. Best advice is to buy apple care at the time of purchase.

  • $700!!!!!!!!!!!!! to fix a dent! man you could buy a new computer or laptop!!! or a whole new screen!!

  • Please post a video showing how you will get the dent out! Would be much appreciated

  • Applecare doesn't cover accidental damage from drops does it?

  • standar warranty (the one that is already with your mac) doesn´t, but the 3 year warranty does (:

  • A slight dent occurred on my macbook aluminum 2.4Ghz within the warranty period. I simply sent my computer back, requested a refund, and now the new 2.26 Ghz Macbook Pro is on its way to me. The refund was granted merely a week ago. I know I was very lucky to get it. And, though I'm concerned that the battery in the new model is non-removable (at least, it is so at this stage), I do think that the swap will be worth it!

Thanks for your videos - all very informative.

  • if you buy a car dent suction cup, it could fix it, i havent tried it yet, but it could very well work.

  • if u don't want to pay that bs amount of money to fix the dent, and u don't like flaunting it, i recommend getting one of those speck see-thru satin cases. they cover up the dent, protect your computer very well, and look very nice. this isn't an advertisement, just a piece of advice

  • dude you sould of got applecare for what ever the price the appplecare would last you 3 years and u could of got a apple student discount but ya that is if u got the macbook aluminum at the apple store .good luck in the future .

  • all they want is money, even if they have to screw people, it really sucks

  • That's retarded that they screw you with contradictary warranties.
