for some reason i never really like boa constrictors until the other day i saw a suriname boa and fell in love ....wow i guess ut takes time to see the real buety
@xQsCinema statistically you are more likely to get injured by a dog than any snake. Its just stigma society has on snakes that makes people associate them with getting hurt and evil and shit.
Is this a normal red tail? or is it a hypomelanistic? either way, its a beautiful snake. props on the video... (esp the jungle book music, if im not mistaken...)
Snakes kill their owners because their owners are idiots....If you have a 16 foot snake, don't handle it alone and don't put it around your neck. Snakes grab onto things thinking they're trees, aka your neck. It will kill by accident. I have a Dumerils boa, Red Tailed boa and Ball Python and none of them has even struck at me. Snakes are awesome ^^
Lol my teacher had a boa and she slept with it.One day it stopped eating for about 1 week so she took it to the vet and the vet told her to just wait and if any other thing happens to bring him back.2 morrnings later she woke up and her snake was stiff as a stick layed out straight in her bed...so she called the vet and the vet said to "GET OUT OF THE HOUSE'' so she did and asked the vet why.the vet told her that the snake was measuring her to eat her ! i fucking got soo much chills
i have heard this story way to manny times by too many ppl. a boa would never beable to eat a person. i do not think snakes measure food that way. most likey it was absorbing her body heat. IF this is even a true story...heard it at least 30 times by 30 different ppl. ne ways a boa wouldnt even try to eat a person no reason to. adults r simply too large...i dont even think a python would bother trying to eat a person uless it was bigger then what i normally see in captivity.
Yah, snakes generally need to be at least 20 feet with substantial girth to even be capable of eating a small adult. And even then it is almost impossible for one to try to kill a human, much less suceed. A non-venomous snake killing a person is EXTREMLY rare. It rarely ever happens; almost completly unheard of. And nearly every time it DOES happen, which is close to never, they do not actually eat the person, as it is very difficult for their mouths to make it past the shoulders.
besieds verts know little to nothing about animal BEHAVIOR shit they cant even tell you the best dog food out there. all they are good for is shots and
That story is complete bullshit! That is a really old urban legend. A boa would NEVER EVER EVER be large enough to eat an adult human. Not even a child.
u guys are brave of having a snake as a pet because i have heard many stories about snakes killing their owners but "god forbid" it 4 u guys..once again your brave because i'm even scared to get next to snakes that are in zoo's beind glass! lol
... That is very very very (Im talkin extremely) rare. And the normal size for a constrictor is what you see in the video and is harmless to a human unless it truly wants you dead it will go around your throat but the species of snake naturally isn't as intellgent to know that so its fune.
Now if I had a baby constrictor and it got to 400 pounds like the one they found in florida...
and dont be scared of snakes in the zoo lol, if zoo animals are harmful to humans they don't let them be near them.
Snakes really actully like their owner most of the time since were feeding them what would usaly take them forever to hunt! Dogs who eat dried meat formed into nasty pelets would die for that rat..
Trust me, all those stories are just rumours. A snake eating a person is SOOOO rare that it's almost completly unheard of. And most snakes found in captivity are extremly docile, especially boa constrictors which would NEVER EVER reach a size capable of eating humans. So few people are killed by large constrictors that it is not even worth mentioning as something to watch out for (although they are capable of injuring a careless owner if provoked).
in one year they get about 5-6 foot, then in 4 years they are almost fully size but i would say about 5 years. ps i depends on how much you feed them and what cage you keep them in, for example if you put them in a small cage they will not grow much, but if you put them in a big cage they will shot up in size very very quick. sometimes the size depends on how you feed them, cage wise. and also the females are bigger then the males, but i think the female are less aggressive then the males.
i would be very careful friend a boa is not a toy!! they are killers and in one year they will be big enought to kill you cause you will be only 15 years old, i not trying to scare you i hope you have someone in the house to help you with this, or you will be in trouble.
but at the end of the day its up to you but if i was you i would wait until i am 18 years old.
Im not inexperienced with animals. No shit its not a toy, your just stereotyping me as an irresponsible little kid who doesnt know what he is doing. Weve had alligators, caymen, monkeys, burmese pythons, pigs...
No, trust me, a 6ft boa would definatly not be capable of overpowering and killing an adult human. No boa would EVER be able to EAT a human. Killing, maybe, but EXTREMELY unlikely. RenatoandEric 2 years ago
Your like 100% wrong, a 6ft Boa could easily kill a human..
I just brought one, He's only 4 months old, SO cute..
Snappy sometimes though, But he's getting better.
bink182rock 2 years ago
No, trust me, a 6ft boa would definatly not be capable of overpowering and killing an adult human. No boa would EVER be able to EAT a human. Killing, maybe, but EXTREMELY unlikely. There hasn't been any proven case of a boa constrictor actually killing a person. A very large specimen might have enough power to kill a person, but it has never happened before, or at least never been reported.
