You are good but no offence but I hate it when level 7 girls win doing backwalkover backwalkover and the a flick by itself when we girls doing backwalkover flick and frontwalkovers and round off and cartwheel dismounts lose. We have way more difficulty. Do tell me that she is only nine because gymnastics is easier

i can't do gymnastics on the ground but i'm pretty awsome on the trampoline. i'd rather be a trampoline gymnast. well this kid i pretty awsome and since she's still young she could be in the olympics when she's old enough. i hope she stays in gymnastics for like ever. gymanstics is a HUGE accomplishment.

this is kinda sad to me cause beam (and floor) are my fav events. i luv to tumble. im 11 level 8. i could do doubles, frount layout frount full(in competion layout layout. but its sad cause about a mouth a ago i sivirly dislocated and fractured my elbow, so that took me out and i was so excited to compete

yes it she did a great job. However, let's not blow it out of perspective. Those who are proud of her...be so--she diserves your praise. Those of you who think she is the next Shawn Johnson, we will have to wait and see. Those of you who think this routine was correctly scored or could have been higher, I would simply just have to disagree. There were deductions I think the judges missed, but regardless...no need for me to stand in your way of praising her.

I do not thinks that the judges have missed any deduction. Don't forget, we are looking at a routine on video, in a small screen. Just being there and then judge is so much easier. (I know, I am a judge myself, and for the exam we had to look at a video screen and that is harder!) I think this score is earned. U can't just look at the routine, U also have to look at how others were, and if someone scored a 9.75 and Lizzy is better, then they can decide to give her a 9.8, because she is better!

Okay. That was a great routine, but, honestly, I don't think it was a 9.8. Just leap should have gotten 2 tenths off, then she had a small step on the dismount landing. The backhandspring was great, though! But still, I wouldn't have given it a 9.8, probably more like a 9.6 or 9.7. But whatever.

i agree. i thought the leap was the deduction but then when she didnt stick her landing i was confused. i thought i'd be .2 for the leap and .15 for the step. oh well, still a very, very good routine.

There wasn't much to deduct(yes the leap, the scale, dismount...the kicks were the minimum angle not to receive deduction).  But the low degree of difficulty should bring the start value down too shouldn't it? Or don't they do that in TX gymnastics?

pfireb...if you look for deductions you can tell they did NOT over score...if anything judges are very picky at state escipally on the last routines!!! i tohught this routine def deserved a 9.8 or even a 9.9!

This was one of last routines of the day. All of the other events were finished for the meet, so it was a very exciting feel for this event. You could feel the electricity in the air since she needed a big score to secure 2nd place AA. I sometimes wish I had left the sound from the meet instead of the music as the place went crazy when she nailed her routine. It was one of the coolest things I can remember so far.
