I love how he compares it so much to GOW, I don't care that much for GOW, I mean its fun, but the grotesque overload of blood and unbelievable attacks really give me that feel: its unbelievable, and starts to become mundane when everything is born with a sack of 3 gallons of blood, kind of like some treasure games, yeah everything exploding is cool, but thats just it: EVERYTHING explodes, it becomes excessively repetitive as the games most common aspect of appeal.

I'm so tired of the comparison to God of War. GoW wasn't original either. It was very similar to Devil May Cry. Guess what. They're all action games. As for the levels supposedly becoming bland... They're supposed to become darker and more claustrophobic. It's because the deepest part of hell is essentially black nothing. And Dante is invading Hell, so why would he not send minions after them? That's why enemies reoccur from different levels. I enjoyed this much more than the first GoW.
@TheSpurian GoW was way more original than this. When i play dantes inferno, i mistakenly try to do GoW moves. This is one of the most blatant rip offs of any game i have seen. although i do really like the relic system in this game

Just beat this. I agree its just like GoW as far as the whole hack and slash aspect. I appreciate that its based on the Divine Comedy. I like the level up system, as well as the choice of being Holy or Unholy. My only disappointment was after Violence, I became more set on just tying to finish the game rather than what's going to come up next. Got this for free, but would have totally bought it preowned and for around $20. Waiting on 2 now.

This guy is a fucking retard. Let me do a good review in this comment! I've played the game. The story, although it has it's twists and turns, is very good. the controls aren't hard to master and it's fun gameplay! The only problem is if you finish it, it's done, there is nothing left to do.
got this game just to give it a try the other day, n I can see his point about the first third of it being the best, but the constant GoW comparisons? Come on man. similarity doesn't doom a game. Take FPS's for example.Killzone, halo, COD, BF, MoH, whatever.do you not look down the sight of some firearm, magically reach down below the screen and grab a new mag when empty, aim down the sight, and fire upon wave after wave of enemies? I will never understand why people say a game is bad because its similer to another game. Even GOW takes inspiration from other game, shall we insult it for only that reason? No, those inspirations were a good thing, but here when this game is like GOW it makes the game a rip off. He says they should make the game more like GOW in the good ways, but then people rage about it not being original and give it a bad review for that. Dante's Inferno is not a perfect game but it deserves more credit.
If you haven't played this game or God of War you will not understand why this guy and so many other reviews are making the comparisons. Ive played this game and God of War and its true that this game is a complete rip off. not that accurate. heresy and violence were fun and well put together in my opinion. fraud and treachery were the only non fun ones, but they still were accurate and cool. i think one of the only flaws were the puzzles that were harder than they shouldve been because of the camera and the lack of bosses for every circle as you progress.
I loved this game, despite the repetitiveness and the glitches that can annoy you in it. The reviewer makes some good points, while I like this ones design better than GOW, the controls and flow is better at the latter. The music and graphics are baffling, but the reviewer is right that after you progress in the game, it slowly goes stale. While I love this game, it has its flaws that could have been avoided.
I have to say the same thing about this game....And the "top comment", Bayonetta has tighter controls and you can switch between combos faster. In all honesty, I started the game a few days ago, and my jaw dropped. Like...literally, it was THAT good. But now as I worked my way up to Anger, the game just falls flat...Repetitive enemies, especially the avoiding prostitutes, ganging up which results in many cheap deaths. Only way to get away from the deaths is by going full holy.
The problem is that God of War is supreme, so comparing it to it from the start gave this game and awful start position. You should make a separate review one that says "For those who haven't played GoW" and the other the standard version.
why does it matter if the combat in dantes inferno mimicks gow? Almost all FPS games are exatcly alike, this just allows people with a 360 to enjoy that hack and slash gameplay from GOW but with a new setting, new story, for a new system

awesome game, i enjoyed it on Zealot and Hellish difficulty. It has similar mechanics to God Of War, and its graphics are like God Of War 2. I like it a lot tho, it entered among my favourite games: God Of War, Devil May Cry, Darksiders.

Another reason is that they give good reviews to anyone who pays them for for example advertisement. A guy at Gamespot got fired for giving a game a negative review. The guys he worked for told him to make a better review because they had paid Gamespot. The guy refused, saying that he was just being honest, and that he was actually nice. So he got fired.
@Frosbiter I started this game like 8months ago but i still havent finished it even though i've tried forcing myself many times. I can't stand playing it more than ~15minutes at a time because its just the same shit i was enjoying the first ~2-3hours. I agree with gamestop.
if you think about it though, god of war was better because of a higher budget, and there are so many evil bosses in greek mythology. the dante's inferno producers were limited to the amount of historic bosses. greek had gods, goddesses, titans and other stuff. they only had god, satan, angels and demons. not to fair to compare.

Dante's Inferno, in my personal humble opinion, is at least equal, if not better than God of War, especially it got much, much, much better story than God of War.

Demon's Souls is amazing the sequal is coming to ps3 and 360. Ratchet and Clank is always good, Heavy Rain is great if you like something different.inFamous 1&2 are great, SOCOM is fucking terrible, and Uncharted is the best series I have ever played

My only disappointment was after Violence, I became more set on just tying to finish the game rather than what's going to come up next. You know, I haven't heard a reviewer from any of these big gaming channels (IGN, Gamespot, etc.) that I liked. I guess ALL critics suck. Either they bash a really awesome game that gamers seem to love (Splatterhouse), or they compare them to other stellar games and declare they are not living up to the standards. got this game just to give it a try the other day, n I can see his point about the first third of it being the best, but the constant GoW comparisons? Come on man. similarity doesn't doom a game. Take FPS's for example.Killzone, halo, COD, BF, MoH, whatever.do you not look down the sight of some firearm, magically reach down below the screen and grab a new mag when empty, aim down the sight, and fire upon wave after wave of enemies? He is right, the combat is repetative after a while, but what i favored was buying new attacks or magic with the money (souls) You get from killing them demon folks. GOW influence too but you HAVE to actually level up, kinda like pokemon in a way, to obtain these abilities. Theres two ways to level up, first by choosing to absolve (cross blast to heaven) or punish (re-kill) enemies after you see R1 or RB floating above their horned heads. I will never understand why people say a game is bad because its similer to another game. Even GOW takes inspiration from other game, shall we insult it for only that reason? No, those inspirations were a good thing, but here when this game is like GOW it makes the game a rip off. He says they should make the game more like GOW in the good ways, but then people rage about it not being original and give it a bad review for that. Dante's Inferno is not a perfect game but it deserves more credit.

not that accurate. heresy and violence were fun and well put together in my opinion. fraud and treachery were the only non fun ones, but they still were accurate and cool. i think one of the only flaws were the puzzles that were harder than they shouldve been because of the camera and the lack of bosses for every circle as you progress.

I loved this game, despite the repetitiveness and the glitches that can annoy you in it. The reviewer makes some good points, while I like this ones design better than GOW, the controls and flow is better at the latter. The music and graphics are baffling, but the reviewer is right that after you progress in the game, it slowly goes stale. While I love this game, it has its flaws that could have been avoided.

I have to say the same thing about this game....And the "top comment", Bayonetta has tighter controls and you can switch between combos faster. In all honesty, I started the game a few days ago, and my jaw dropped. Like...literally, it was THAT good. But now as I worked my way up to Anger, the game just falls flat...Repetitive enemies, especially the avoiding prostitutes, ganging up which results in many cheap deaths. Only way to get away from the deaths is by going full holy.

The problem is that God of War is supreme, so comparing it to it from the start gave this game and awful start position. You should make a separate review one that says "For those who haven't played GoW" and the other the standard version.

if you think about it though, god of war was better because of a higher budget, and there are so many evil bosses in greek mythology. the dante's inferno producers were limited to the amount of historic bosses. greek had gods, goddesses, titans and other stuff. they only had god, satan, angels and demons. not to fair to compare.

Demon's Souls is amazing the sequal is coming to ps3 and 360.
