Here's a bit of trivia for you - While Compile was developing Dr. Robotniks Mean Bean Machine, they actually put unaltered Puyo Pop songs, such as Theme of Puyo Puyo, in the cartridges data, even though they ended up composing new songs for the game. The unused, unaltered songs still remain in the game's data and could probably be accessed through a Game Genie.

Both of these are from Mean Bean Machine. You can tell because they both have the same instrument set (Puyo's instrumentation was lighter and more melodic). DrMBM had the original version of Theme of Puyo in it's Sound Test, my guess is they ultimately decided to be more original and made a remixed version for the cast theme.
I've never seen that box art before. I had a PAL copy and it looked nothing like that.

I don't know the actual name , but my favorite music is the boss music in puyo puyo 2. In this video I prefer the Puyo puyo version.
