  • It's around Exit 60 where the infamous flood scenes that the school was floating onto the freeway took place, correct?

  • @itsalleternal I don't know, I'm not from the area.

  • @Freewayjim Just out of curiosity, why do you make these videos of you on the highways? By the way, have you considered playing Miley Cyrus' "The Climb" throughout one of your videos?

  • @Sazee1000 I enjoy making them and people enjoy watching them so I continue to do it, it's a creative outlet. I just don't see myself using a Miley Cyrus song, not a good fit IMO.

  • I love these videos. I wish PennDOT could learn a few things from these videos and actually learn how to build an interstate.

  • You are right about PennDOT, geesh those are some bad roads.

  • @Freewayjim what's wrong with their roads?

  • @blue06lt We need all these lanes here cause the people can't drive.

  • what cars do you drive?

  • I was driving an Acura TL for this one, for many others that I film on long trips/vacations I use my wife's Acura MDX.

  • Yo man love the videos, you should come back to Alabama for a while, even though places live Birmingham and Montgomery are going through major construction.

  • Yo, man love the videos, you should come back to Alabama for a while.

  • This song is called Life Is A Highway

  • I remember these rds. I used to travel from Kansas to NC all the time, when i was in the army. I used to pass thru Nashville, its a very decent town to look @ from 24 & 40.

  • Awesome video Jim. I'm jealous of your cars suspension!

  • It's quite fun to drive :)

  • Crazy drivers in TN.

You should get bumper stickers made, I would put one on my car!

  • Never thought of that, hmmm.

  • I like this style of marking exits. Again: great video and great music Jim :).

  • Very nice video. I enjoyed it, as I always enjoy your road videos.

  • Thank you!

  • That seems to be a half-a**ed attempt at creating HOV lanes on TNDOT's part. Anybody could virtually use that as a passing lane and not know it as there isn't the usual solid double line to catch a driver's attention. Great video!!

  • Thanks and I agree with your sentiments regarding the HOV lanes in TN.

  • The truth of the matter is that the Feds will pay extra money for interstate widening projects if they include HOV lanes, so TDOT took advantage of that. Also, the lanes are only part time (inbound from 7-9, outbound from 4-6, M-F). In my experience, I don't think I've ever seen part time HOV lanes marked with double solid or double dash lines, as all of Atlanta's are full time.

  • I wished we had HOV lanes in Winnipeg. Instead of HOW lanes there called "diamond lanes", and only transit buses and bicycles could go on it.

  • Seriously? "Diamond lanes"?

Well, 17th Street (Atlantic Station, Atlanta) has a similar set-up.

  • Atlantic Ave in Virginia Beach [24th street south to the southern end] has the same kind of lane. The right lanes are for Trolleys, Buses and right turns only.

Helps the trolleys get people moving through the city.. except when police pull people over in that lane, then they have to fight the bumper-to-bumper traffic in the left lane.. which then makes the concept pointless.

  • I didn't even know Winnipeg had highways. I mean there's that one road with a bridge over it. I haven't been there since 97 though.

  • Winnipeg does have Expressways and Expressway-like roads, they just do say it in the street name, like Bishop Grandin Blvd, Fermor Ave, Cheif Peguis Trail, and a part of Kenaston Blvd.

  • You should film them.

  • A couple of HOV violations in the video near the beginning :)

  • No Violations for two reasons:

    1) My son was with me so we were legal

    2) HOV only enforced on Monday through Friday, this was Saturday.

  • I prefer the HOV lanes in Nashville to the ones used here in Atlanta -- at least the lane can be used by everyone, at some point.

  • Nice defensive driving there, man.

I like Tennessee's usage of those large directional arrows painted onto the pavement. I wished Georgia would use those. It would improve driver awareness.

  • Oh, yeah -- nice song, too. :)

  • You know, I had to use something "Country-ish" for Nashville.

  • And it's very appropriate.

  • And a song from the movie "Cars"

  • I've not seen that movie yet. Was it any good? I heard it was.
