some of them look worse than they really are the only ones that i get nervous about is when i fall head first those are the most dangerous not the sideways crashes.

it looks harmles but remember if you jump like 100 meters down into water it is hard as concrete and will kill you. i jump from 5 meters and sometimes my foot gets a slap really hard

@JungleListSoldier - well depends on how much of that is muscle and how much is extra weight... with a big enough ski and a powerful boat then he would be fine as long as he has the upperbody strength to get out of the water

a Waterskiing rarily really hurts unless you hit something (your ski for example) atleast thats for me most of the times, in the beginning I used to crash quite a lot, but it never really hurt because water is soft :) it doesnt hurts. It just dazes you for a few seconds

Ohyeah, you can right about that. I only did it at 30-40mph, but not many boats can reach 70mph. Atleast not the ones I used.

It is really hard to tell when someone is hurt from looking at the fall unless they stop immediatly,then you know it hurt alot. Most of the falls in this video did not hurt so much that the skier did not get back up to ski but some sure as hell hurt. The last 2 falls had us dazed but as stated we kept on skiing afterwards.

My best crash was when I was on a wide forgiving slalom ski and went to hard on a left hand cut, which is my good side because I ski normal instead of goofy for a right-handed skier, which went okay till looked left and saw the water going by at 40+ miles per hour... just 6" off my shoulder, well past the point of no return for an idiot like me. I tried to angle the ski out to pop up, blew it as predicted, I hit the water on my side and on the video we counted 7 full rotations before I stopped.

im kinda iffy about getting double boot bindings for my waterski... ive heard that using them would b a way to prevent injuries, but ive also heard that they cause some injuries, please post ur opinion

well it depends on how experienced you are, as well as the unique situation. its a hard call

I have double boots, all I can say is get bindings that are snug but not tight. You want it to fall off if you're in a crash like these. My problem is I wear size 13 and the next size up in bindings would've cost me an additional $400. One broken ankle later and I wish I would've sprung for the $400 binding instead of the $1500 copay for an ORIF.

I just started slalom this year and it is addictive. Once you srat you just want more and unfortunately the crashes come with it but it is worth it. Best water sport in the world. Get of the wakebord and on the single, you won't regret it, just get health insurance.

ive just started skiing last summer...i usually wakeboard and yes there is a huge difference between the 2...i was slalom skiing my 2nd time but only going like 28-30 mph...even going that fast hurts like hell when you fall...i cant imagine what it would feel like going the same speed these guys are going.

Slalom is for the speed freaks. Wake boarding is sloooow motion in comparison. You hit like 60mph at the wakes WBs are 18-25mph.

The water is like cement when you do a endo (over the tip) at the wake. It will knock the wind out of you. I've seen stars and had my eyelids turned inside out from the impact.

I was doing 40-45mph slaloms on one ski last summer when i did a wrong turn. I made a huge crash and broke my ankle + knee because the shoe/ski binding didn't went off, but instead got stuck around my feet. (bad luck) I won't stop skiing, but it's the last time i ever went that fast.. that's for sure.

Ahhhh, reminds me of the past... Like two days ago when my ski submarined and I released instantly and rode barefoot on my face for about five seconds full scorpion before rolling four times. The boat was doing 45 because I was trying to get speed to ride in to shore. I was in full cut so I don't know how fast I was going. Really, really fast. Too bad I have no video becase it was nasty.
