@Xiaorene89 My veils are typically 3.5 yards, which converts to about 3.2 meters. You need enough material at either end, so when you hold it with your back at the middle, arms outstretched holding either side, you have enough material to move.
For large stage presentations, I have used a 4 yard veil (3.7 meters). You must move the veil faster and often wider to make sure you do not get tangled in it. For 4 yard veil technique, try looking at the work of Shoshana of Arcata, CA.
Belltdancerluvr: there is no need for my belly to be shown to demonstrate the simple veil technique in the video. For advanced technique, I will show the belly only so one can see where I tuck the veil and how I untuck it during performance. I thought it would be less distracting for instruction of veil technique.
Thank you so much for the crossing the hands technique as you go overhead. I always seem to get caught with that one!
