If I had to be honest. After watching about 7 different video's on making chapathi's I found this to be the least informative. The thing about cooks is they seldom realize how dumb the rest of us are. We need to see EVERYTHING. Needing the dough may seem straight forward but there's actually a skill in that itself. Then when the ingredients are put up they were all but invisible because of the back ground. Then one couldn't see anything what so ever that was going on inside the pan. Plus 'um ar'
Watch Kurma Dasa's video on chapati making. He will show how to fluff up them. This video skips the hardest part and the key sign of a well-made chapati - of fluffing it up to a round ball.
It shows how little you know about Indian cooking or the variety of flat/griddle breads we have. . She making a chappati which is done on the griddle itself exactly as shown -so the video skips nothing ! Phulka or roti - is where it is additionally put on the flame directly to fluff up, i.e. after the initial cooking on the griddle. Mistakenly called a chappati which has now become a generic term
hey thanx for shearing your recipe am west indian i love evry think about indian and indan foods even the clothes u guys wear we do make paratha i ll give chapathi a try i hope they comeout good as your
After doing business in Gerrard Street I went to collect money from a shop. Shop owner (Chandan) did not pay but offered "chapati and subji."
Whenever I see chapati or subji that always reminds me.
