If they already have broken ribs, what do you think I'm going to go for? The ribs! It was his choice to let everyone know he had broken ribs. Some fighters say they have a sprained right ankle, when in reality, their elbow might be sore. It's called deception, smart fighting. Nam was smart for going after broken ribs, not a cheater or pussy.

i dont know why everyone was saying bigger stronger opponent when they both weighed in at the same weight. so no Saad wasnt bigger, they were both the same weight.. clearly Saad was more skilled and aggressive. Nam did come out with the win with the better stamina thats about it.

Cung Le and Nam Phan are Vietnamese brothers...They are great fighters. However, Nam need a lot of improvements for his legs tactics such as sweeping, side + round + front kicks, knees...He is good in grounding, but nothing for standing up...except his hook punches...Nam alwsys fight with his face down when he punch, if he keeps fighting like that, he could easy eat up some kick upward right on his face. Hope you will learn more kicks and never fight with your face down.

both saad and nam will fight(nam has title shot) and when nam wins the title they will give saad the first title shot at nam.if saad wins, he and nam will fight for a 3rd time. Saads wrestling game is on point believe me, he just didnt showcase it in this fight.. he was an all state wrestler in highschool, but in this fight with nam he expected to KO Nam. but give Nam all the credit becuz he deserves it, his experience, jaw, and tenacity prevailed in crunch time, its the vietnamese in his blood

Saad trained specifically stand up for this fight.. he didnt think that it would get to the mat and if nam didnt have such a strong jaw it wouldnt have gotten to the mat at all. Saad tired out he cut about 20 pounds 2 days prior to the match which hurt his endurance alot, if you saw him at weigh ins he looked completely sucked up. 2ndly there will be a rematch, ... continued on next post...

Are you kidding me? Have you seen his fight with Josh Thomson? Nam's also a pro boxer in case you didn't know, and he's also an award holding jiu jitsu artist. The main problem here was a major reach disadvantage, Nam needed to get inside. Also, Nam was a wrestling coach, his grappling was superior to Saad's on the ground, that armbar reversal was beautifully executed.

Nam Phan knows his strengths and his oppenent's weaknesses. Trade with him and allow to gain confidence, then drain him with some scrambling. Saad almost got submitted with that armlock and that took a lot out of Saad. And as for that long looping left hook, I've seen him work that move before straight from Nam's textbook. As far as being a better fighter, tungle is right. That is clearly subjective. To end this dispute, the better fighter won the fight. And I did not say Nam is the best.
