yes stranded was a great album full of poetic lyrics.didnt have the surging sonic landscapes of the previous album but a masterpiece nonetheless.i agree that ferrys vocal power, glorious as it was, has all but disappeared.one last sigh of farewell goodbye.
Really impressed with Bryan Ferry when I first heard this from the 'Stranded' album almost 40 years ago. I knew right there and then that he was a force to be reckoned with..A master songwriter. This song.. "Just Like You" "Serenade" "Mother of Pearl"..the album as a whole had to make Ferry the #1 lyricist in Brittish contemporary music back then. Truly, one of a kind. Nothing like him then or now..
Its true his voice has lost a lot of its power, but bear in mind he will be 65 this year. Still sounds good compared to a lot of todays 'artists' though.....And he's still hot as hell!!
Hm,felt a bit prickly that day Prairie Rose?Sounds fine to me,I'll take any whisper over a prick and am looking forward to any sound coming out of him while he can.
Well, you might think so and I agree, he doesn't sound too good, but look at the 2001 concert of Roxy Music. During that performance Bryan's voice is as good as thirty years before. So maybe he got a cold this time?
so good to see bryan singing this..he is the genius.....have every peice of music by him!!!!
