  • so helpful come teach my class cuz u no so much more than my teacher lol no im not joking

  • You did the best job explaining this out of all the other YouTube videos I've seen so far. Good Job.

  • what if you are using a laptop without a scrolling thing

  • @purplepictures2009 I guess get a USB mouse that has one. Some laptops have a really awkward middle button that just doesn't scroll

  • Nice tutorial but I have a problem, I am using a laptop so there's no scroll button for me to press. I tried doing Alt+Right Click but it doesn't work either and I don't have a mouse to use. So do you know any other way to move?

  • @G3ARProductions most laptops have scrolling capabilities in their touchpads. 2 buttons, a line for scrolling and a touch area to move the cursor etc.

in blender 2.5x you can emulate the keys.

you can use + and - numpad keys to zoom in/out or go to file menu -> User Prefs -> Input -> 3D View -> 3D View (Global)

you can set any key combinations as you like.

learning blender is easy and fun :-)

  • you talk too fast

  • wow this is very helpful for me. I just started a class at school and this has been very useful so far. I will check out all your videos if I have any problems with my course project. Thanks a lot and keep up the good work

  • @jjmccrary06 Thanks for the comment :) If you need any help with your work you can send me a message!

  • Just started to learn blender and I have a major issue with it.

When I click down my middle mouse button it doesn't move around freely as you demonstrated. Would you by any chance happen to have any ideas what might be the issue?

    Thanks beforehand.

  • @floodindahood Are you using the newest version of blender? I also had this issue with the older versions of blender but with the 2.57 it stopped. The only way I fixed it was by closing and opening blender multiple times before it started working.

  • thanks very much for this ,it was very helpful and clear to beginner like myself,

  • I have to say and admit, this is the best Blender tutorial I have ever seen. The way how you explained the Hotkeys were outstanding. I benefited from this greatly. As @dmt1960 mentioned, the official tutorials are too advanced. They assume we have background knowledge, which most of us don't. You, however, break it down slowly and easily which is a great benefit for me and many others. Also, Blender can be very intimidating! I couldn't thank you enough for this videos and I hope to see more!

  • @IS91Videos Thanks IS91, comments like yours are always appreciated! The reason I started making videos was because I noticed the same thing, so my channel is for beginners!

  • @lovetoplay94 Thanks for the awesome super speedy reply! As a result, I will spread this video around respectively and I have subscribed to you and also checked the box which notifys me whenever you upload a new video. This video deserves more views. Like I said before, I honestly couldn't thank you enough for this video! Blender 2.5 has just gotten a lot easier!

  • Thank you!!! Yeah, when I downloaded this, it was very intimidating. The interface was not like Maya at all. But this makes it all seem so simple and easy.

  • @NeilBurginPictures Blender 2.49 was intimidating! This interface is a bit simpler, it's better for newbies. But you should watch on very quick, if you come from Maya!

  • Thanx for a great tutorial. I found this really helpful, as I am a complete noob to blender. You explained the basic hotkeys really well. I find the official tutorial too advanced, as it assumes you have some idea of previous versions, which I don't. They may as well be telling me how to fly to the moon. I know I will be watching this several times till I feel more confident playing around with this great tool. :)

  • @dmt1960 Thanks for the comment, I have noticed that most tutorials assume previous knowledge which is why most of my tutorials don't.

  • Any idea why my version of Blender doesn't have any menus at the top? (Such as 'file' 'add' 'render' ect)

  • @TweetyWhite Hmm that could be a glitch. If it doesn't come back after you open blender again, download the newest version that just came out a couple days ago. Just go to blender(.org) And download version 2.57.

    Hope that helps!
