I'm not sure what the laws are regarding the police state to state or even federal, but it's obvious the system isn't perfect. There will be times when innocent people are asked to be searched. It does suck. But a little cooperation can go a long way. Next time, get out of the car and do as they say. They'll find nothing, let you back in and send you on your way. If it honestly offended you that much, call up a lawyer immediately afterwards, but don't fuss with the people with guns.

I'm not sure what the laws are regarding the police state to state or even federal, but it's obvious the system isn't perfect. There will be times when innocent people are asked to be searched. It does suck. But a little cooperation can go a long way. Next time, get out of the car and do as they say. They'll find nothing, let you back in and send you on your way. Boarder patrol isn't the same as just being pulled over in America. Does he not understand that if they don't search 1 car, that car could possibly be carrying guns, bombs, drugs...or anything else that is trying to get over the boarder. And im sure they didn't just choose to pick on this one person...he had to have brought attention to himself in some way...and it was probably talking back to the police. Usually if someone says 'no' to getting their car searched, they are usually guilty

You're confused julianmarasco. There was never a dog alert. Legal proceedings where the driver was found not guilty twice, once by a judge & the 2nd time by a jury, determined the dog never alerted. This of course means the handler was either so incompetent he didn't know what a dog alert was or he fabricated it.
BTW, he accomplished a lot. He showed the world exactly why armed gov't agents shouldn't be empowered to seize people at suspicionless checkpoints inside the country.

@dissevered1 think about this for a second here... if you were a cop working some sort of border-checkpoint-thing and one person REFUSED to answer routine questions, REFUSED to let you look inside his vehicle, and to top it all off investigation dogs detect something, what conclusion would you come to? the checkpoint is there on some level to protect people and i would say that someone who meets the criteria i have listed above would represent a potential threat wouldnt you? COMMON SENSE

This totally appears to be staged. Where are the bruises? His face would be all screwed up if that really happened, not just "covered in blood" like he says. He would also have lacerations over more of his face than just his freakin forehead.
