  • I didn't see the Presque Isle mentioned, it looks like one ship but it's a tug - barge combination that can be separated

  • the John B. Aird was the most recent freighter built, right?

  • @tallstech0711 Yes, the newest laker in this video is the Aird; however, the four salties in the video are all newer than her. The Beluga Emotion is the newest of the bunch, built in 2004.

  • @weatherbum ah thanks. what are the other salties besides the Beluga Emotion?

  • @tallstech0711 The other salties in this video (besides the Beluga Emotion) are the Beluga Constitution, Mandarin, Voorneborg, and the Vancouverborg. I forgot about the Constitution in total I gave in my previous response.

  • the Phillip R Clarke was there at Duluth the day after we went there!

  • @amtrakseptaguy11 All of the train horns you hear in these videos are actually salutes from the Aerial Lift Bridge in Duluth.

  • Wow!! Alaska?? Sounds good!! Quite far from Duluth!

How do you like it there? And how are things going for you?? Good I hope!!

Well if you do get back to Duluth this summer and happen to shoot some footage, that would be great. If you can't, totally understandable.

    Appreciate the effort regardless!

Thanks so much for your reply!!

    All the best to you!!

  • Hi weatherbum

Are you planning on making another salute page (Salutes Part 4) for this coming year?? Really hope so!

    Thanks

  • @funnyfokker25 I hope to shoot some video this summer--whether it will be enough to put together another full video is yet to be seen. Moving to Alaska certainly didn't help my cause, but I'll still take time to go to Duluth this summer.

  • @weatherbum Hey! How are things going in Alaska for you? I hope well, and wish ya the best! Thanks for keeping these vids (Ship Salutes) up. Always, always enjoy coming back to them!!

  • @funnyfokker25 Hi!

Things are going well in Alaska. Summer was somewhat cooler than MN, but that is to be expected. I actually made a trip to Duluth a few weeks ago and videotaped a number of boats--nothing too special or unique. Look for the video from this year to be up in another week or two. Glad you like them! :)

  • @weatherbum Good to hear/see that things are going well for you in AK. Great that you made a trip to Duluth and did some videotaping. And looking forward to your posting of what you shot. Regardless of the boat/ship footage you shot, I'm sure it'll be great regardless. Your ship salute posts are fantastic, and as always very much appreciated!!!

Great to hear from you, and I wish you all the best in everything.

    Take care, and thanks again!!

    Matt, Hamilton, Ontario.

  • totaly owesome thank you

  • Thanks again for this Enjoy them very much....Really hope you keep all your "Ship Salute" videos up!!

  • I think the bridges horns the loudest of all

  • As for my fav ship the Tregurtha....We cannot get her here, I believe she is too big for the Welland Canal, and goes only as far as Detroit!!

    Pity!!

If you have anymore Tregurtha, would love to see you post them!!

    Thanks

  • Thanks so very much for this and the other salute posts you have put up!!

I'm rather envious, of all the ships you get into your harbor....I'm from Hamilton, and well we don't get as half as much traffic as you do, anymore....sadly...The Welland Canal is cool, and it's great to watch the traffic etc....you have a beautiful park/harbor there in Duluth, and my fav ship has to be the Tregurtha....What a beauty!! What a horn on her

Are you going to post anymore?? Hope so!!

    Again, Thanks!!!!

  • Great to see some new additions to the salutes! I watch these over and over again. Keep them coming...
