  • Can someone tell me the name of the album that this track corresponds with?

  • @jesusizblak Digital Veil. It's a great album.

  • I tried to poo today, and was met with disappointment. Then I listened to this and cried and pooed right in my shorts and a little down my leg.

  • ◎◎=boobies

    ϋ

  • Styles in progression ranging from neo-classical to chromatic flirtations color the musical composure with biting words on a society that breeds and embodies ignorance. Oh how we believe in all the monuments built by thieves. Great song.

  • Ron Paul ad. I APPROVE.

  • @Tempo27Zs dude you cant seriously think that this is mathcore just because it has time sig changes like honestly almost any song has time signature changes i mean just off the top of my head, any zepplin song, most any classical composer. i dont think its any core influence AJ went to school for his music and i honestly think its just melodic guitar playing nothing more

  • his screams remind me of Between the Buried and Me....so do the guitars during some parts.

  • turn it to 720p and hear the difference

  • I feel like I'm listening to a sick METAL \m/ versin of muse when I hear their songs.... awesome needless to say

  • such a beautiful piece of music..

  • I remember theese guys with the original members, Epic show.

Vela, together we await the storm.

  • @metalmusician68 i actually prefer the new tha

  • FromUnderTheHeavens & The Wish You Well. My bands. Talk shit

  • @Tempo2Zs

    Lol

  • Dang, you guys are angry af xD

  • this argument is hilarious btw...heres a point for all of you to hear...listen to what you like and never let anyone tell you you shouldnt like it bc its none of their business...music is music...just sit back and enjoy it...i can only say this bc i will listen to literally anything someone puts there for me to listen to...i can appreciate all music and i dont need to critcize everyone elses tastes because i know im not going to win the argument

  • Dean looks like Tarzan

  • @doublej706 Why are you so upset? calm down bro. This would be more mathcore then anything else. Metalcore has some pretty distinct requirements. Once again, that album is not the best album ever, you simply like it a lot and that is fine. But every listener has a different opinion. THAT IS ALL I WAS SAYING. A musical opinion can NEVER be factual. Also, I never said they had to be stuck in any genre, they can play whatever they want, but NOTHING this band does is revolutionary. So keep trying

  • I never said it was the best album ever, I was comparing it within a genre, key difference. A musical opinion is not only subjective, I don't think I have enough space for this, research it. You stick to your "Music is subjective" argument pretty close to state any real opinion of anything. I want to hear opinions of fellow metal-lovers, not of some retarded ass kid trying to feel smart by means of the internet. Your opinion is like asking a special-ed kid for tutoring in mathematics.

  • Comment removed

  • @doublej706 Look how mad you are right now? LOL!

    .

Music is and always will be SUBJECTIVE to each and every listener. So what you believe to be amazing is not what everyone else thinks. Nothing this band does is revolutionary, plenty of other bands sound just like this. That was the entire argument, someone said this band should be credited with the next step in metal music, and that is the only reason I said something

    .

Who said I had to share my opinions on music with you? NO ONE

  • Just quit responding in these threads with your "Music is subjective" bullshit. If you have an opinion of this band, that's great. State it, for better or for worse.. it doesn't matter. I'm sure if you go to a band's Video, and state a negative opinion of the band you may be greeted with hostility. Perhaps have some evidence to back up your opinion. Quit being a little bitch, with your nonsense.. it just annoys people who want to share their opinions of this band.

  • @doublej706 This comments section is for anything, I can comment WHATEVER the fuck I want. I never even bashed the band, and I don't have to say whether I like them or not to make a valid point. All forms of art are subjective. Is this band revolutionary to you? I sure hope not, because there are plenty of bands that sound just like these guys. You cannot be a little bitch over the internet, but you can be an internet tough guy. What are you going to do to me? type another comment? OHHH NOO!!!!

  • You have no valid point. Music can ALSO be objective rather than subjective, because the object doesn't change, but the listener can learn to perceive it fully. The listener's ability to perceive the piece of music determines whether he/she likes it or not. There has to be some objective standard that exists somewhere that we measure music by. What other bands sound like these guys? Still haven't answered. What bands are you into that could be deemed 'revolutionary'? no answer? another circle.

  • @doublej706 Any form of art is SUBJECTIVE, always and forever. Why do you think so many different people all like different shit musically? if music was not subjective, that would mean there was a right musical taste and a wrong one. Which does not exist and cannot exist. Other bands that sound like this? oh God, do you really need an answer? you don't know already? Also, bands I deem revolutionary are irrelevant because my opinion IS NOT apart of this. You have lost so miserably its astonishing

  • Lost miserably? I am simply pointing out facts and generalized misconceptions you have aimlessly decided to troll upon us all. "Art is subjective, always and forever" That's not a valid reason. You can't listen to Mozart and then listen to Roseanne sing the National Anthem and say there is no objective truth that one is better than the other. You would know you were lying if you said that.

  • @doublej706 But that would merely be my personal opinion that one is better then the other. An opinion by definition cannot be factual. Some people hate Mozart, are they wrong? No. Music is subjective, you can say whatever you want but it does not change this fact. Look how long this has carried on? for what? This band? LOL!!! Pretty sad when I was not bashing them at all. Just pointing out the fact that they do nothing revolutionary. Between The Buried And Me? they even started BEFORE this band

  • You keep carrying this on and on. Do you really care that much that I have a different opinion than your own? You have to grow up, man. Go seek some help maybe. This YouTube addiction isn't healthy. Go get a hobby or maybe a girlfriend. Your wound up pretty tight to get this angry about a meaningless argument over the net.. We are wasting valuable seconds of our life even communicating, it's not like we even acknowledge each other as human beings. Have a good one.

  • @doublej706 You are telling me to seek help when you are clearly unable to let go of the fact that I do not agree with you? Who is the one that started this argument? Now you assume shit about me, youtube addiction? wow, if you need to make shit up that is pretty sad. You have replied just as much as I have so you would be guilty of all of this same shit, and if anyone got mad it was you... look at some of those comments of yours, you were blatantly losing your shit

    You have failed yet again

  • Dude, you have to let go of some things or else you will appear desperate and needy. There's no need for you to get so angry over this pointless discussion, it is simply a battle of opinions. My opinion is equal to yours in this world. Just relax and take a deep breath.. The argument is over..Some people just can't admit, but its ok, we both know. After this message, just take a breath and say to yourself "I fuckin lost" and just let it go. It'll be ok, bro.

  • @doublej706 lol, is that your angle now? just try and make it like I was mad all along? Oh man this is getting too good. How did I lose? you have yet to refute a single one of my points. This band is not revolutionary, and music is subjective.. So what someone believes to be the best, is not actually the best. If that were true... then there would be a right musical taste and a wrong one.

    .

The only desperate person here is you, you back down from this argument because you know you lost ;)

  • You STILL try to carry this argument on? I refuted every one of your points with valid points you chose to ignore and impliment even more useless questions. If youre not mad, what is all of this? But, congratulations you have been able to include the word "revolutionary" in every single post of yours. Just quit being so desperate, man. You just gotta let go. This is YouTube, not real life. Put a little more effort into something worthwhile. Ive already won the argument, you just have to let go..

  • @doublej706 actually I did not put revolutionary in every post of mine, and you have said it more times then I have. You back down from this argument and claim victory because you know you lost. Is that really all you can do? just back down and act like you won? Keep replying, and I will too, if you want this to stop, then stop saying shit to me. You never refuted a single point I made, MUSIC IS ALWAYS SUBJECTIVE

the caps are so you might actually read it, not because I am mad ;)

  • Let it go, man. You're going to be okay. There is an objective standard to music as well. Do a little research on music philosophy.

  • @doublej706 If you are right, that would mean there was a right musical taste to have, and a wrong one. If someone loves pop music, are they wrong? No, if someone loves death metal are they wrong? No. What you are suggesting is that there is empirical proof of one form of music being better then another. Which is impossible, it is all based on what the listener perceives. Music philosophy? go look up the definition please, you will see it has nothing to do with determining which music is better

  • Comment removed

  • @jsschneieds84 these songs are not unique but they are pretty good..and the scales are not for only piano these are just different modes and arpeggios...guitar have scales to..these guys are definitely not the first to do this kind of music

  • whos the sketch ass lookin nigga on the right lol?

  • 0:49 yessss

  • yall are gay as fuck for real.. listen to bands you like and dont listen to ones you dont. its as simple as that. if dude thinks there the shit, let him think there the shit. dont go doggin someones opinion. thats why its called an opinion. bottom line, the human abstact are indeed the shit and if you think they arent why watch this video and type paragraphs about how you think there like every other metal band?? do you not have a life??

  • @jschneids84

You didnt use there correctly. Otherwise though, you have an excellent point.

  • @videomane360 i dont do apostrophes brotha..

  • T.H.A band <3

  • good band, but stop hailing them as saviors of the metal genre. their market is the progressive metal niche. you really think the entire genre is going welcome them with open arms? there's a reason bands like the Faceless, Animals as Leaders, Last Chance to Reason, etc. don't tour with Lamb of God and As I Lay Dying, or tour with Book of Black Earth and Dragged Into Sunlight. grow up and stop thinking the next band you click on youtube is the next big thing. they've been in it for years.

  • @daraya5693 What the fuck are you even talking about? The Faceless has been irrelevant for a while now. Evan Brewer deserves to be in a better band. And okay what does it have to do anything with who they tour with. It's called an opinion dude, people think one band is the best, and some think the next band is the best.

  • @Dissimulatex whether or not the faceless are irrelevant (an OPINION, as you put it) is not the point. it's not about opinions, what i'm saying is that you can't hear a band and then declare them to be the next big thing, because, be realistic here, while THA is good, they won't appeal to every single fan of the metal genre. the reason being that someone who listens to the bands i mentioned won't necessarily like THA. that's where my example of the touring comes in. there's a reason Immolation

  • @daraya5693 doesn't tour with bands like Blink 182. they're both very loosely "rock" but that doesn't mean you can say one of those bands is going to be the savior of the whole genre. "what the fuck" i'm saying is that people need to stop assuming because you find a band you like on youtube that they're going to be the next big thing. once again, not about opinion, it's about being naive. i'm not saying anyone band is better than the other. (which explains why i said THA is a good band.)

  • I like how the two top comments are from the same user. LOL

Awesome song by the way, original and it shows just how damn well skilled these people are at not just their instruments, but also their songwriting ability.

These guys along with Protest The Hero will save the whole Rock and Metal scene.

Let's just hope they get as big as PTH.

Godspeed to bands like these, may you never get tired of inspiring us fans with your art.

  • epic shit. if these guys toured with protest the hero i would probably have to sell my body to old men to get the money to buy all the tickets. Worth it.

  • Why is Hot Rod on here?

  • 4:26 to the end that guitar part turns me on

  • THESE MONUMENTS BUILT BY THIEVES *precede to guitar segment that is so perfect but frustrates the fuck out of me every time*

  • @MrDudeface23 Lol i know what you mean ..It makes me smile every time I listen to it though :)

  • Their CD, Nocturne, was just as good if not better. Don't even bother with the 2nd....they lost their way and guitarist for a moment. They are back though, I am fucking happy.

  • Singer looks like Andy Samberg.

  • now one of my favourite bands. still not better than protest the hero though

  • @thtdudewiththehair Yeah PTH is better but this band is still really good........they're both really different though.

  • 4:18 onwards is one of the many great moments in this phenomenal album.

  • Music is amazing. Screaming is good. Singing sucks; lacks a lot of heart. That's one thing I liked about Nathan's voice.

  • This song had sex with me......mentally.......and I liked it.....

  • They've credited their influences has the most talented in the Progressive industry: Rush, Dream Theater, Between The Buried and Me.

  • Awsome guitarist but he looks just a little gay, not that i have a problem with people of that way. just sayin lol and ill repeat AWSOME guitarist!

  • @ryden781 but dude he's RIPPED just sayin lolz

  • i dont think they should be credited for the next step in the heavy metal industry, it is very similar to between the buried and me, this just sounds better to the ear

  • The difference between this music and "Periphery, Veil of Maya, and C.O.C" is THA composes using chord progressions and keys throughout the whole song. So it is a real piece instead of some random riffs and breakdown mashed up to make a song. Not saying the others don't write using keys, just obviously not throughout the whole song, seeing as that its so unorthodox.

  • I WANT TO RAPE THIS SONG SO HARD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • musikalisch echt genial, aber der gesang ist zu core-lastig

  • @JUZTraunreutSZENITAber,er ist nicht schlecht.

  • I want AJ.

  • Oh how we believe ittttttt, the monuments built by thievessssss

  • @TheOnlyxOne88 we believe *in

  • @funkyflapjacks I'm dumb, lol

  • UNIONCLUB.RU

  • Forget the "Like" button, where's the "Love" button. 3 Thumbs up!

  • Has this leaked yet?

  • @DanRead no, i imagine it will at some point this week tho so keep yur eyes open for it

  • EVERYONE PLEASE BUY THIS CD. DON'T DOWNLOAD!!

  • @IMegalomania i think ill try to get it on ebay..... i so fucking want it but i live in israel

  • @IMegalomania i bought it twice

  • @IMegalomania I FUCKING DID HELL YEAH

  • @IMegalomania EVERYONE PIRATE THIS BITCH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @IMegalomania Not really.

  • @IMegalomania you should check out periphery they're creating something pretty amazing too outside of all the generic sounding shit that seems to be so over-publicized now-a-days.

  • @KyuubiXX243H98 periphery sounds good and Im not sure if they have got something to do with meshuggah, if not pretty much a rip off of them.. its not new as meshuggah have been playing since '89..

  • @JimmyTepLord Yes, I've known meshuggah for a while too, but periphery resembles probably a more melodic, intricate, and not to mention more groove-oriented style way more exaggerated version of anything that meshuggah's ever put out. Guarantee you might find similar things in the 2 of them like guitar tone for example, but vocals will never be close nor will the actual technicality that periphery holds as opposed to meshuggah, so i wouldn't say they're a complete rip off.

  • @KyuubiXX243H98 no there just leading the pack of the djenty revolution. and every time i hear a new band of this genre it sounds way to similar to periphery tesseract ect. give it 6 monthes and the scene girls will catch on to this djent music. and it will be deathcore all over again. and the chugging and technicality of music will come to a hard climax in like 3-4 years. and some sort of really slow downtempo music will become popular. just like the 80's to the 90's. history repeats itself

  • @therealgtarbeast666 Well then if that's the case and you're speaking in general terms about technicality, THA, BTBAM, etc. will all be right along side all the technical djenty bands because after all they all hold the title of being technical right? Scene kids are scene kids are SCENE KIDS they wouldn't be able to comprehend the complexity of the music to begin with that's why they listen to shit like attack attack!

So yeah periphery may be "leading the pack" as you say but at least that shows

  • @therealgtarbeast666 how good they really are to even begin with.

  • @KyuubiXX243H98 l love periphery just its the band making this sound accessible to more people which is cool. and i dont care when scene kids decide to get on the djent wagon just stating what i imagine can happen

  • @therealgtarbeast666 I seriously doubt it'll happen haha.

  • @therealgtarbeast666 Djent is not a genre, its simply a tone. The reason why I like Periphery and THA are the progressive elements. I can imagine the whole generic djent groove thing (which is boring as hell, frankly) going mainstream. However, not the things that make up the good music that we all like.. As it requires actual thought and knowledge when writing. The day good progressive metal becomes mainstream is the day we all die

  • @AuningProductions K that boring new version of deathcore with major scales, singing, and a "djent" tone haha. and i mostly mean this in the sense that chugging (just like solos in the 80'S) will get so old stale and repetitive (more than it already is) in a mainstream way that it will just bottom out and the new thing will keep getting worse, and just moop.

  • @IMegalomania uhh, between the buried and me should. THA are great, but very much sucking on the taint of BTBAM

  • @brownfield BTBAM and THA have the same sound. THA is way more complex in the guitar department and get there influence from classical artists not just the drummer like BTBAM. BTBAM does not deserve that. they are not nearly as talented. i will admit there drummer is extremely good though.

  • @IMegalomania wat

  • @IMegalomania haha BTBAM is so far more tech, progressive, and interesting. now i live THA but there like a dumbed down classical breakdown-laden version of BTBAM.

i can play human abstract songs (this one to be exact cover this week haha) i still find it much more difficult to play "the great misdirect'

BTBAM just progress so fast and sound so atonal that most people cant really appreciate the complete craziness going on.

  • @therealgtarbeast666 Making good music isnt all about how crazy you can make a song sound. Its how good you can make the most complicated pieces sound. People dont understand it because its so bunched up. THA picks apart their music far better then BTBAM, they do have good music but some of it just doesnt really make sense

  • @IMegalomania Spot on dude. That's exactly what i thought about BTBAM, goof stuff but. But it felt like they were making it complicated and technical just to do it. and some of it makes no sense.

  • @IMegalomania so you are saying since THA makes their music a bit more ear friendly to the masses they are better? THA and BTBAM are my two favorite bands, but BTBAM is a million times better. BTBAM does things to music that the normal human can not even contemplate with their ears, it is magical music math, and, yes, it is not for everyone. But the fact that it is complicated makes it even better. BTBAM is and will always be the best band of my generation.

  • @IMegalomania Maybe it should be called Abstract Metal...

  • @IMegalomania it's called progressive, it's been around for years...

  • @fucingpwnz0rz but mix it with neoclassical elements and metal core is something NEW

  • @IMegalomania Progressive...

  • @IMegalomania Ya, They definitely beat Between the buried and me to the punch, huh

  • @IMegalomania cool story bro, but they are not doing anything ground breaking, and definitely do not deserve credit for the next step in metal... What are they doing that has never been done by someone else? crazy changing time signatures? I could show you some jazz musicians that STARTED THAT.. quite literally... Not to mention how many jazz guitarists that would destroy their abilities to "shred"

You need to learn about music before you make off handed comments about what a band deserves

  • @toThe9thPower Dude, I see where you're coming from with this. I appreciate music's roots as much as someone studying music as a major can after being force-fed a constant barrage of jazz and classical. That stuff is definitely innovative, but megalomania was talking about metal specifically. He still made a wild statement since, come on, Protest the Hero, HORSE the Band, Born of Osiris, and BTBAM do the weird experimental metalcore with similar and occasionally better results.

  • @rsmetal What he was talking about specifically is irrelevant. This band is not doing anything groundbreaking, and you even gave great examples of similar bands doing the same thing. So clearly he is wrong, and that is all I was pointing out.

  • @toThe9thPower Yeah, in retrospect, I dunno why I even bothered to comment...I just reiterated your point. So fair enough. Rock on, sir.

  • @toThe9thPower Aj is still a fantastic guitarist... and these guys do a very good job at what they do. Instead of bashing on a great guitarist, and a great band... Let's all move over to an Attack Attack video. (:

  • @TheMisterGalaxy I was not bashing anyone, I was being perfectly honest. Nothing this band does would classify as the "next step" in metal music. He was wrong for saying that, plenty of bands sound JUST LIKE these guys. It is funny how you complain about me bashing a group when I am not even bashing them, and then turn around and suggest we go bash another band.. Are you 12? what an idiotic idea, Music is subjective to each and every listener, if people like them, why would I give a fuck?

  • @toThe9thPower dude just shut the fuck up already. THA definately have a unique playing style and sound. alot of their riffs are based off piano and classical scales. not very many bands do that. if any. quit acting like you know what youre talking about please. and who sounds JUST LIKE them anyways? im anxious to know...

  • @jschneids84 what do you mean who sounds just like them? You really don't know? this form of metal is not only done by them, they are NOT breaking any new ground, this all started when someone claimed The Human Abstract needs to be credited with the NEXT STEP IN METAL... Do you honestly fucking believe these guys have truly elevated ALL OF METAL MUSIC AN ENTIRE STEP??? this is not a new type of metal, and if you honestly try to say it is, I will laugh and laugh and laugh

  • Listen, Nocturne is one of the top metal-core albums of all time. These guys can't seem to create that magic they once had, yet always trying to live up to a first successful album like that is truly hard. These guys have my uttmost respect for their musical creation.

  • @doublej706 Wow cool story and all bro, real keeper.. But you forgot to mention that it is YOUR OPINION, you said that as if it was factually one of the best metalcore albums of all time. Also, I am 100% positive that these guys are not even metal-core in the first place.

    .

    .

I was never bashing on them anyways, but when someone says this band should be credited for the next step in metal music, I have to sit and have a laugh at how ridiculous that is, because nothing they do is revolutionary

  • I'm not here to argue genre-classification. To label it to it's most simple terms would be 'metal-core'. You're a fan of metalcore, no? Or do you just come on these channels and let out your anger on strangers? Have you heard the album Nocturne? Please do not continue responding if you haven't. What album would you consider 'revolutionary'?

  • @doublej706 This is not metal-core, sorry but it is not. If you went for simple terms, this would just be classified as metal. I am not letting out any anger, I am merely stating the facts. Nor am I going to list shit I consider "revolutionary" because that just sounds cheesy as fuck to be honest. It also, has nothing to do with any of this.

    .

Nocturne is not the best album ever, you simply believe it is... Every listener has a different opinion. But nothing they do is "revolutionary" bro

  • How is this band not labeled metal-core? Metal is too simple of a genre-classification to describe their sound. So, you've never listened to the whole album of Nocturne? Yet, you have an opinion on it. You claim this band to not be "revolutionary", yet you can name no other band that is. I'm questioning right now if you even listen to metal and can appreciate any of it to have a credible discussion fan to fan. Get the fuck out, man.

  • @doublej706 Metal-core? these guys would be closer to mathcore then anything else. So if metal is to broad, so is metalcore. I never said I never listened to the album, I just said that what you believe is not what everyone else should believe. This band cannot be revolutionary when so many other bands have a similar sound. I did not list other bands because that HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH ANY POINT I MADE. What you question is irrelevant, I listen to many genres of music including metalcore

  • @toThe9thPower I dont think you know what mathcore is.... the guys are metalcore/progressive. There is no room for question here. The Dillinger Escape Plan is mathcore look them up. Genre is arbitrary regardless, but if you are going to classify a band as something at least choose the correct label.

  • @Tempo2Zs the changing time signatures is clearly a mathcore influence, I understand this is still metalcore, but there is definitely some outside influences that make this bands sound a lot different then a typical metalcore band. Also how many comments of mine did you read? that one was like 15 down on the list... You have way to much time on your hand bro

  • @toThe9thPower Cool insult man. Seeing as the last bit of your last comments wete on the front page, and I could tell there was an argument. I wanted to see what it was about. Please dont think that you are special enough for me to read all of your comments. I just read the one where you are calling this mathcore which is funny. A common thing to do in a losing argument is to insult the person directly rather than his/her points.
