Original for the 64 is much better in general. Only thing I ever disliked about it was that damned lava level.

@kyuugoki I love the lava level. I used to be able to get through it without falling into the lava at all. I wouldn't know now because I haven't played it in months, although I could probably get back into it with only a few runs.

Atradaitoshi. Those are my two favorite tracks too :) The issue I had with this game was that if you in 1st place by the time systems activated, the rest of the race was easy. If you weren't you were pretty much goona lose.

Props to video host though, came back from behind to win. Very nice.

The N64 games are actually easier than XG3... in a way. On XG2, once you get to mirror mode, prepare to get your ass kicked hard to the point it is handed back to you in three pieces on an articulated, glossy silver platter.

I'd also like to mention how the sense of speed is definitely real.

One can really feel the difference between the 250G and 1500G engines.

Just look at ninsegalover's XG3 Megalopis 7 vid and compare it to this...

Or that new (?) Atradaitoshi vid, if you can find it. He goes through it with a 1000G class engine... not sure which one, though.

I do know that the 1500G engine can break the sound barrier with boost start... I dunno if he got boost start, though...

Yeah, breaking the sound barrier is great, I remember i would sometimes end up falling or crashing the wall.

Speaking of which... I found out that on Sirus Canyon, you can break the sound barrier with the slowest engine (250G) on the loop if you use both the regular boost and the rear blasters, and if you lean backwards while going up the loop and forwards while going down.

I first did it with the 250G when racing as Starcom for the first time (why is that important?)

Before that, I had done with the 300G without reverse blasters with a Terranova bike (still, why is that important???).

It's funny... with the fastest engine, you actually GAIN speed going uphill if you lean backwards. In fact, while even the 1500G can't even break sound barrier on its own on flat track, uphill (ex. crystalaria's first uphill part), if you lean backwards, then sure enough, sonic boom.

I can't wait to get a DVD Burner or something so I can show everyone how I play the game :)

I didn't get 1st on that race, so the next one... :< I had to... I did... so good for me, but I didn't think I'd have that much trouble playing it, especially because of how easy XG1 and XG2 are for me.

I just went with the flow of the map. My brother is having some trouble but is getting the hang of it for Co-Op. I'm sure anyone can master it once they get the hang of it.

Yeah now I'm able to win this race with the 1500G engine :) I don't even play an hour a day, I just love racing games because I can easily get good at them. Thus, some tips for aspiring players (copy-paste of my comment from another vid): 1) Get the railgun as your first weapon. Learn to use it. It kills stuff. 2) Brakes. 3) Feather your boost. 4) Brakes. 5) ? 6) Brakes. 7) Brakes. 8) Kill stuff. Every race I do ends with < 10 racers. Of course, I'm still smashing into walls; I need practice.

Extreme G 1 was perfect. Awesome levels, killer soundtrack, and remote controlled battle cycles in a war ridden world! 2 was good, but wtf? people riding the cycles? still a great game. A bit slower, but it kept the killer soundtrack. 3 is eh. Lost touch with the whole coolness of Extreme G. I hope the new one goes back to its roots.

Well this is in the future. Today, top fuel dragsters can accelerate about as fast (faster?) as the lowest speed engines in this game.

Today, nothing on earth accelerates faster than a Top fuel dragster.

The Bugatti Veyron can go some 253 mph.

Who knows how fast we will be going by the end of the century?

Only time will tell us that if we survive to see it (OMG 2012! >_>)

my favourite part of this whole race is at 2:40 onwards where your gettin shot at from behind your featherin the boost n your sweepin down the downward curve chasin after the other racer, just as the music kicks in, awesome stuff :D:D

ha this game was not for the xbox, it was only for the ps2 and gamecube, ps2 had better controls however it lacked in sound quality visuals and graphics, Gamecube version ran in 60fps and ran in progressive scan, ps2 version sucked badly, look on ign they gave the gamecube version a higher score. I Bought a gamecube specifically for XG3

well there is motor storm and its just like the x series. the graphics totally destroyed the other games for the console. like in n64 no one had ever seen graphics like that. then ps2 or gc. now motorstorm for ps3

motor storm is completely different to XG, I know motorstorm gives you an assortment of vehicles and the graphics are pretty awesome but in XG, the bikes are soooo freaking fast compared to those in motorstorm, and the futuristic design in the levels are amazing. I would just like to see a "megapolis" style level with PS3 graphics, instead of rugged terrain outback style levels.

The only gripe I had with XGIII was that unlike the previous 2, when you fell into a pit or whatever, the game was over. In the other 2 you'd just teleport back to a spot. I guess they wanted to give it "realism".
