ok im confused. First you said dont use the ones in a pot under the eyes because they cake. Then later on you say you use the studio finish concealer which it comes in a pot, and it does cake I same the product and no matter if i use a brush or my finger here comes the cake..

One of their concealers for medium toned complexions is called "summer bisque". It's like $18. But I've never tried or used a powder concealer & that's what it is. @crmnv5 it doesn't have to be lighter. but i defiantly can. but just by one shade. and it also depends on what you want to cover? dark circles you should use a lighter concealer. Blemishes then use one that matches your foundation/ skin tone.

You should try Hard Candy's Glamouflage.. I would never use it on its own because it doesn't match my skin tone very well, but I put this under my foundation and it covers up EVERYthing.

@emcrazykid you should check out her 'Look fresh and dewy this winter' video.I have extremely dry sensitive skin and her tips really helped:) i can now wear foundation even in the winter! also, if your foundation always ends up looking cakey,try exfoliating before doing your makeup. you can try mixing 1 tablespoon of yoghurt with 1 teaspoon of salt and exfoliate with that.i do that every night and my skin doesnt get flaky anymore. you can add more salt to it if you want. hope this helps:)

@elisoberta Try the Tarte tinted Moisturizer "Smooth Operator" U will love it, its not heavy at all and actually has decent coverage for a TM & to top it off their products are all Great for ur skin all natual ingredients they use clay to tint, its just GENIUS ! Get a sample at Sephora they have MANY Skintones and Undertones to choose from as well. Check out the shades online and undertones b4 u go to sephora or Ulta cus they dont have all that listed at the dept stores but the web does.
ive found that a really good affordable concealer is the NYX eyeshadow base. i know its not technically a concealer..but its the best ive found of the cheaper brands.
@putriii96 mac is probably your best bet for heavy coverage. the pot concealers are very pigmented and will definately cover any acne marks or scars. although they're expensive its better to invest in one since you'll save yourself alot of time/money going through other drugstore concealers that dont work as well. good luck :)
Hi Marlena ! Just wanted to recommand to concealers from Glo Minerals. GloUndereye ( pretty much like eve pearl dual salmon concealer) and GloCamouflage for face. I love them ! It would be interesting to find out what you think about them :)
Kiehl's ON THE SPOT is for blemishes, not undereye. Sorry. Clearly, you are lovely and have good intentions.
Undereye concealers which are more opaque simply need application over an eye cream if they're caking. Also blending with a water moistened sponge will help the product to lay down better around areas that are lined or wrinkled.
Whenever there are multiple colors including white, it's so you can blend a custom shade. Try it and you may be very pleased with what happens.
I have terrible acne scars on my face and I feel like a monster. the best thing I have found is DERMAFLAGE- it totally covers them and I feel like a normal person again. A friend of mine has a hole in her face from skin cancer and it works for her too. You should check it out.

The Coastal Scents quad looks like a highlight/sculpting kit. I can't imagine anyone using those to conceal. But I think I would use it to sculpt and highlight the face, so you may find a use for the dark brown afterall. : )
The white in the camo quad is for mixxng with other colors to create a more lighter color. You said the darker brown one is too dark then you can mix the white with it to create a more lighter and usable color (=

I like the tips provided. So, i guess when you use the term "blemishes" you're not referring to acne. I was expecting a special type of concealer for acne. A thick concealer formula is not enough, it must have especial ingredients that would provide some relief or at least not worsen blemishes.

I am about Queen Latifa's complexion but my sister is the colour of the darkest concealer and she doesn't even use concealer because she doesn't need it. Most people that complexion foundation would do the trick in covering problem areas they wouldn't need concealer. Why have that white concealer on the same palette in fact who is that white that they need that concealer. That is like sheet of paper white.
many people hate the Mac studio finish cuz they dont like its connsistency, they say its drying and it creases. I have to agree altho i do use it daily cuz it does covers.

Obviously, anyone who needs the white one wouldn't use the darker one (and vice versa).

Hello Marlena, I had a question about the under eye concealer. I use the mac studio finish however, I use it under my eye. I do notice it at times looks a tad cackie however does do a great job for dark circle coverage. omg the MAC cosmetics sales rep at sephora singapore is pretty bad at introducing products. she reccommended me the pot concealor for my dark circles and i always thought it was my application of the product that caused the slightly cracked/cakey look after. which my bf will always point out to me -.-

I really don't see any wrinkles in your eyes area so each concealer could work on you... :-O. The problem is that here in Italy it is impossible to find same brands or different lines you have in USA....anyway I've made some test for the best concealers especially for mature ladyes with wrinkles on the eyes area and after some month I found it :-))))

Your sell of Eve Pearl was very interesting. Why is this product so impossible to find in a store. Surly Mac or Chanel would not be an online product only. These brands would not be as profitable if they were. It is possible that Eve Pearl is not a good investment for a retail store and that makes me doubt the product line.

Great video! I use the Coastal Scents camo quad and because my skin is oily, I can wear it under my eyes. It also does an excellent job of covering my blemishes. I like that I can blend the colors because I have some dark blemishes that I use a lighter concealer combination to cover.
Hope you don't mind my input, but best drugstore concealers I have found are Physician's formula coverfx, Physician's Formula colored concealers (green, pink, yellow, etc.) Hard Candy Glamouflage, Maybelline Coverstick, Maybelline Gojiberry anti-aging concealer (might have fudged the name a little), and Almay anti-blemish concealer from their acne line. I have a skin issue that needs covering daily in order for me to be presentable. I found these thru trial and error. hth.
the super light color, and super dark color, are probably for mediating the other two "middle" tones. To darken or lighten the other two as needed, via mixing the colors with the lighter or darker tones.
@PriPriBloggie I used Urban Decay's 24/7 concealer and I love it! That one is a pencil, but the only thing was that it became too expensive to replace - I switched to Coastal Scent's Camo Quad which is way cheaper. But I would bet that Marlena would say the pencil is too thick for under the eyes, because it can be a bit cakey, but good for blemishes.

I disagree as far as the Studio finish (MAC) is concerned ! You can use it under the eyes. If you apply it with your fingers, itll go caky OF COURSE ! Thats why it must be applied with a fluffy domed brush ! GREAT gurus do this, check them out.

many people hate the Mac studio finish cuz they dont like its connsistency, they say its drying and it creases. I have to agree altho i do use it daily cuz it does covers.

I think she meant that she didn't like the fact that they have a white (which is literally white; too light for even a deathly pale person like me) and a dark shade in the same quad.
Obviously, anyone who needs the white one wouldn't use the darker one (and vice versa).
Why anyone would have a problem with there being lighter and darker colors in separate quads is beyond me, so I can't believe that she meant it this way.

Hello Marlena, I had a question about the under eye concealer. I use the mac studio finish however, I use it under my eye. I do notice it at times looks a tad cackie however does do a great job for dark circle coverage. Which other would you recommend for a full coverage from mac or clinique that has gel type consistency as I have never heard of Eve pearl? Thanks

omg the MAC cosmetics sales rep at sephora singapore is pretty bad at introducing products. she reccommended me the pot concealor for my dark circles and i always thought it was my application of the product that caused the slightly cracked/cakey look after. which my bf will always point out to me -.-

I really don't see any wrinkles in your eyes area so each concealer could work on you... :-O. The problem is that here in Italy it is impossible to find same brands or different lines you have in USA....anyway I've made some test for the best concealers especially for mature ladyes with wrinkles on the eyes area and after some month I found it :-))))

Your sell of Eve Pearl was very interesting. Why is this product so impossible to find in a store. Surly Mac or Chanel would not be an online product only. These brands would not be as profitable if they were. It is possible that Eve Pearl is not a good investment for a retail store and that makes me doubt the product line.

Great video! I use the Coastal Scents camo quad and because my skin is oily, I can wear it under my eyes. It also does an excellent job of covering my blemishes. I like that I can blend the colors because I have some dark blemishes that I use a lighter concealer combination to cover.

Hope you don't mind my input, but best drugstore concealers I have found are Physician's formula coverfx, Physician's Formula colored concealers (green, pink, yellow, etc.) Hard Candy Glamouflage, Maybelline Coverstick, Maybelline Gojiberry anti-aging concealer (might have fudged the name a little), and Almay anti-blemish concealer from their acne line. I have a skin issue that needs covering daily in order for me to be presentable. I found these thru trial and error. hth.

the super light color, and super dark color, are probably for mediating the other two "middle" tones. To darken or lighten the other two as needed, via mixing the colors with the lighter or darker tones.

@PriPriBloggie I used Urban Decay's 24/7 concealer and I love it! That one is a pencil, but the only thing was that it became too expensive to replace - I switched to Coastal Scent's Camo Quad which is way cheaper. But I would bet that Marlena would say the pencil is too thick for under the eyes, because it can be a bit cakey, but good for blemishes.

I live in the UK and some of the products you mentioned are not available here. I am looking for a new under-eye concealer. All this time I have been using the mac one you mentioned and it just hasn't worked well for me I thought it was due to a bad shade but now you've cleared up the fact it shouldn't be really used under the eyes! Hi! Which product do you recommend to disguise Melasma. My pigmentation always shows even through any concealer and make up I have used. The marks are brown on my upper lip and cheek area. Bleh! I am being treated for this condition, but it takes months and months to see some results. Which products sound suitable for me? I am a NC44 in Mac and a rich Ginger in Colorstay to give you and idea of my skin-tone. Love your channel! <3

I disagree as far as the Studio finish (MAC) is concerned ! You can use it under the eyes. If you apply it with your fingers, itll go caky OF COURSE ! Thats why it must be applied with a fluffy domed brush ! GREAT gurus do this, check them out.
