"why did they think using the ebola virus would be a good idea???"
Because Ebola can be spread not just from person to person but it can also live in body fluids after they have left the host's body, so it has many different delivery systems. It also replicates a lot faster than, say, the flu so few people can fight it off becuase it replicates faster than their body can produce white blood cells.
They wanted something that almost everyone would catch, basically.
I know it's just a movie, but wouldn't constantly bleeding like that kill them eventually? Isn't that how the Ebola virus kills people? I know the bleeding is an effective mode of transportation, but wouldn't that much blood loss kill them? Someone please explain!
@Rosebunse It would kill them, eventually, but I think that they would last a lot longer than an ebola patient simply because the rage virus is pumping pure adrenaline through their veins, non stop. People have walked out of the dead zone of the K5 on frozen feet pushed by pure adrenaline and tiny women have lifted heavy cars off of their husbands and children, it's only when the adrenaline wears off that their body succumbs to the abuse that they've put it through.
what they were doing was isolating a specific genome that makes ebola spread so fast in order to make the rage suppressor spread in the same way. The genome is just a part of the ebola virus, not the virus in its entirety...unfortunately, with the way viruses can mutate so easily, thats what happened and the consequences were dire
he based this of the director commentary. the director said that he did research and found a virus that can make people very sick but has no effect other than extreme rage on apes but in the movie they tested the monkeys and changed the virus's genome traits and they accidently made a variant of the ebola virus witch they apply named rage
@meetmeatskyline bodily fluid anyway, people get infected by bites as well if I remember (though it's not eaten like in most "zombie" flicks, it's just them attacking)
que es esto?

@goldenbulletwolf666 If you are referring to the rage in 28 days, it is only "blood transmitted"

@goldenbulletwolf666 and also, they were thinking only to use the base of the geonome, not the whole virus e.g the stuff that kills you
ItsMikkieBitch 2 years ago
@goldenbulletwolf666 because they were looking for something that spreads fast, and ebola does the trick.
